Chapter 288: Semi-Final Matches
“Next up, the second semi-final match between the team from Sky Sword and the team from Night Liberators!” said the tournament referee, announcing grandly and clearly to all the spectators in the arena.
In the main stands, Elsa rose from her seat and stepped forward, close to the stands’ railing. Alfredo and Killian noticed Elsa’s demeanor was different from before.
“What’s wrong, Elsa?” Alfredo asked.
“Maybe she’s overly enthusiastic, considering this is Sky Sword’s last hope in this tournament,” Killian replied.
“The same goes for the Night Liberators. Our team is fighting to live up to our expectations,” Elsa replied.
“But I’m not too worried. I’m sure my team can beat yours,” Killian said, looking relaxed.
Elsa smiled. She remembered when Killian fought against Aaron. At that time, Killian was fooled by Aaron’s clone, allowing Aaron to go to the next floor.
From then on, Killian tried hard to go up the floors. However, because of his ability, he had difficulty catching up with Aaron.
On the other hand, the Sky Sword team is currently being led by Aaron. People might recognize him as Lewis, but Elsa knew very well that the man was Aaron.
The two teams appeared from different directions. The Night Liberators emerged from the north door, while Sky Sword arrived at the south door. They met in the center of the arena, with a neutral judge from Dimension Justice’s side.
“Are you ready?” the referee asked.
They nodded as they looked at each other in front of them, full of seriousness. The referee again explained the rules briefly, Aaron understood without needing to be explained by him.
“Back to your corners. I give you three minutes to strategize,” the referee replied.
“When I say start, the match begins. Do you understand?” the referee asked the six people to his right and left.
They simultaneously nodded their understanding. As instructed, Eloise invited Lewis and Emily to strategize. She insisted that Emily should be at the back guarding the flag, while Eloise and Lewis were at the front to attack.
“I have my own way to win this game. With Elder Kang’s plan, we’re unlikely to win,” Lewis replied.
“But Kang has determined what’s best for—”
“Who’s in the arena? Us or Kang?” asked Lewis, interrupting Eloise’s words.
That’s right! Eloise felt a change in attitude from Lewis, before he never denied what Eloise said.
It was the same with Emily. She felt that Lewis was different today and looked more confident. Emily didn’t know where Lewis’ confidence came from, but it didn’t hurt to test Lewis’ plan.
“It’s better if we listen to what the plan is, Sis. Maybe the idea is better,” Emily explained.
Eloise paused, then took a deep breath to let Lewis say what his plan was. Lewis smiled, starting to say what he was going to do.
Both women were silent, not understanding what Lewis was saying. However, the three minutes to talk strategy was over. They could only put their trust in Lewis.
The formation was different, Emily and Eloise were at the front while Lewis stood guard at the back, at the Sky Sword flag stuck in the ground. Seeing that, the enemy team laughed loudly with contempt.
“Are you a coward? You chose to stand by the flag while two women protect you,” the enemy team insulted.
Elsa squinted her eyes, not expecting Lewis to be in charge of guarding the flag instead of Emily. She immediately looked at Elder Kang in the members’ stand, Elder Kang shook his head, it wasn’t his idea.
“It seems that one of your members turned into a coward. This is really interesting, it’s easy for us to defeat those two women,” Killian explained, Elsa chose to remain silent.
Over at Lewis, she held the flag she was supposed to guard. When she tried to pull it out, it was difficult, but not impossible.
With one strong pull of his hand, Lewis pulled out the flag and held it in his left hand. It surprised many people.
“I didn’t break the rules, did I?” asked Lewis, as the official shook his head.

“No, you didn’t. You are free to do anything with the flag,” the referee replied.
As both teams got ready, the referee gave the signal and started the second semifinal match. The boisterous voices of the crowd filled the arena, cheering on their betting teams.
Eloise used her ice talent to form a large protective dome, while Emily spread a thick fog in the area around them, to limit their visibility.
“It’s your turn, Lewis.”

“What? Talent clone?” Eloise was shocked.
“I already knew about it,” explained Emily.
“What?” asked Eloise sideways.
“It’s not Lewis, it’s Aaron!” said Emily.
Their voices could not be heard because of the ice dome that Eloise had formed. Slowly, 25 clones formed properly from the condensation of Aaron’s purple magic. Each clone held the Sky Sword flag, capable of confusing the enemy team.
“Open the dome,” Lewis explained, Eloise and Emily nodded.
Eloise opened the dome and Emily dispelled the thick fog instantly. People were amazed to see that Lewis had cast many shadows.
Elsa laughed loudly and clapped her hands. She didn’t expect that Aaron could think like that, there were a total of 26 Aaron’s holding the Sky Sword flag and only one was real.
Killian gasped in shock and stood up from his seat, “Wait! How can he make that many clones?”
“That’s my friend,” Elsa replied, proud.
Elder Kang could only gape. He didn’t expect Lewis to be able to form dozens of clones in such a short period of time, his strength seemingly hidden in previous matches.
Lewis ordered all his clones to fly all over the arena, useful for confusing the enemy team. The enemy team members looked confused and scared, as they saw that the Sky Sword team had a champion on their team.
The real Aaron flew in to trick them, only his clones were near Eloise and Emily.
“I will guard the flag while attacking you,” explained Aaron’s clone near Eloise.
“This is impossible! Is this allowed, judge?” the enemy team asked.
“As long as he’s using his abilities and not foreign interference, everything is allowed,” replied the referee in his place.
“Tch!”
“Lewis!”
“You think we’re afraid of your bluff? You won’t be able to beat us!” they snapped, speeding up as Elder Kang had said.
Aaron smiled, pointing his hand forward to bring up a blast orb portal.
“He may be fast, but my attacks are many. He won’t be able to take this flag!”
