Runemaster in the Last Days - Chapter 103
Chapter 103: Outrageous Spell
“The basic spell?” Sean looked at his older brother suspiciously. “It couldn’t be that this spell has problem, right?”
Samuel was usually quite reliable, but Sean was a bit worried. After all, this matter would affect many people’s lives. If the spells didn’t work, there would be many people who died and the cause of death was actually the food.
It was outrageous.
“No, it doesn’t have any problem.” Samuel shook his head. “It’s just that the range of the spell is very low, so you have to use the spell several times if you want to eat a lot.”
The problem of the range was something that Peter himself didn’t know how to solve. Unlike Samuel who was located in a big family in that world, he was a commoner who was scavenging for resources. The spells he learnt were all gathered after a lot of efforts and fighting countless people.
Thankfully, he was not tricked or he would have been more miserable in that world.
“Ooh.”
If it was just this, then it was not a problem.
“If you’re still worried, you can cast it several times. Let me teach you the spell this time.” Samuel nodded to the men on the side who had prepared the meat. “Not all part of them can be eaten. The rest will be used to be buried in the garden for fertilizer and a batch would be sent to the laboratory.”
“Fertilizer?” Amelia looked at these corpses and her lips twitched. Aren’t fertilizer usually composed of dead leaves and so on?
When did it become corpses?
“Yes.” Samuel could see that Amelia looked unconvinced, so he added, “This is a common practice to make a full use of these magic beasts’ corpses. Besides, the unranked ones are usually not very valuable.”
The skin and the bones of these unranked magic beasts were only slightly stronger than ordinary animals. Coupled with the fact that their current technology could make heavy armor along with other weapons, they were indeed tasteless.
In that world, some lower ranked magic warrior would still make use of the bones to make weapon.
But in this world, steel alone was far more compact and harder than these bones.
Why would they want to use the bones?
So the best way to use them was just like his family’s practice, to throw them into the garden and be buried. The mana inside these magic beasts’s body would be released slowly and surely into the surroundings.
The plants that was cultivated in this garden filled with mana would also contain some mana inside. This would be beneficial for their practice in the future.
The only downside is that it took a long time.
After all, the mana would not dissolve right away and the decomposition process alone would take some time. There were some methods that could accelerate them, but Peter didn’t know because he never used it while Samuel never asked because it was not his turn to care about the matter of food and so on.
It could be said that both of them were living a different life and their concerns and priorities in that world were also different.
“I see.”
“Come on.” Samuel raised his hand and said, “Purification.”
They saw there was a flash of light on the surface of the meat that was placed in front of Samuel and then…
There was no then.
The meat didn’t look any different for them and both Amelia and Sean were looking at Samuel blankly.
“Does the magic work?” Sean asked hesitatingly.
“It works.” Samuel looked at Sean helplessly. In his perception, he could sense that the mana inside the meat had calmed down somewhat. It was a bit hard to explain, but he could guess that the purification magic was eliminating the elements that made the mana violent.
As for what it was, Samuel was not sure.
There were already some people sent to investigate and try to deduce it, though. After all, it would be difficult for them if they couldn’t make new spells or other methods aside from the few that Samuel and Peter remembered.

Both Peter and Samuel walked on the physical arts’ path.
The number of magic spells that these two people knew were very limited, so it was a bit hard to ask them to come up with various magic spells.
They had tried to discuss with the Magic Association but the result was not very good.
So far, the two association seemed to be at loggerheads with each other.
Each of them was unwilling to give in and also very stubborn.
“Is there no chant?” Amelia asked helplessly. The only magic that she could use without chant was that counterattack shield spell. It was because she had to use this again and again to the point that she memorized the mana route inside her body.
But in the beginning, Amelia still has to read the chant.
Samuel’s expression become subtle and he nodded. “You can check the chant in your account in the Martial Arts Association.”
Sean and Amelia started at their brother blankly once again.
Is he freaking serious?
They started to doubt that their brother was going to teach them this spell seriously.
Samuel coughed and then said, “Your task is to supervise this place. These people had already learned the purification spell and the meat that had been purified will be frozen to be used later.”
After that, Samuel left.
He still has other things to do, but his image of going away made it looked like he was running away.
Both Sean and Amelia were suspicious of their older brother.
“Shall we check the chant?” Amelia asked.
Sean nodded doubtfully.
The two of them opened their phone and connected to the martial arts association’s account. The internet connection in this villa had somehow been restored not long ago, so they could connect to the Martial Arts Association.
And when they saw the spell, the two of them were stunned.
“BROTHER!”
