Runemaster in the Last Days - Chapter 140
Chapter 140: Explanation
The dinner ended and everyone went back to rest. Samuel handed over a stack of paper that had been cut along with a bottle of magic beast’ blood. Counting it, there were 2000 pieces of paper. He said that when it was used up, he would give more to her.
Riya nodded.
To be honest, 2000 wouldn’t really take a long time. But Riya also knew that making talisman required mana. If she made too many all at once, they would be able to know that she was actually already at fourth rank.
This rank was the same as Samuel.
And it was hard to believe that a mage could reach rank 4 so quickly.
Samuel reached rank 4 mainly because he was a magic warrior and his rank didn’t fully focus on mana but more about his physical strength. In the environment with little mana concentration in the air, it was already a very good result.
But pure magician was different. In such thin mana situation, how did they manage to reach such a high rank.
So Riya had to control her speed.
After getting these things, Riya also went back to rest.
She stayed in her farm for a while to check on her paper puppet and then looked at her bed. The bed in the mansion was naturally very good. They used to be rich people and would not wrong themselves materially.
So everything here was basically the best that they could get and within their capabilities.
‘If it’s not because of this incident, I’ll never have the chance to experience how it is to stay in such a bed.’
Riya sighed in her heart and then put a few magic stones that she had around the bed before she started to draw with her runes. Now that she had reached rank 4, she could use the runes to make a better formation. This Advance Mana Gathering Formation was pretty good, but Riya strengthened it again.
In this way, the amount of mana she could get after a few hours of meditation would far exceed others in the same period of time.
Riya arranged for everything clearly.
She sat down and meditated until she recovered and then started to make some cold talisman with the paper that Samuel handed over to her before. With her being rank 4, she quickly finished making 2000 cold talisman and then resumed meditating until it was morning. She completely recovered the mana she used to make the formation and talisman in such a short period of time.
She had to say that the formation was really amazing and helped her greatly.
When it was morning, Riya took back the magic stones but left the runes be. Without any magic stones, this formation would be useless. They could also replace the magic stones with their own mana, but who would be stupid enough to do that?
The main reason for making formations in the first place was to help them practice and not to make themselves busy like that.
So even if she left this here, it would be fine.
When it was necessary, she would erase it.
With that in mind, Riya dragged the carpet to cover the exposed part under her bed and after making sure nothing looked amiss, she walked out of the room.
Amelia was sitting in the dining room, yawning several times. She was still sleepy, but she knew that they had to work today. When she saw Riya, her eyes lit up. “Riya, how long does this magic scroll last?”
“It’ll last for two to thee days,” Riya replied.
The materials she used to make this talisman was the first rank magic beasts’ blood. Unlike the batch of talisman she made last night, which only used unranked magic beast’ blood. They would only last one and a half day at most.
The difference in materials would give a completely different result.
“Nice!” Amelia laughed out loud.
Samuel walked out of the study room, making Riya wonder whether this man slept at night or not, and asked, “Have you started making the talisman?”
“Yes.” Riya nodded and then handed a stack of 100 talisman to Samuel. “I have only made 100 of them. But they’re made with unranked magic beasts’ blood, so they would only last for a day and a half at most.”
Samuel nodded. “It’s good enough. Do you need mana to activate it?”

“No, tearing part of it until it reached the drawing is enough,” Riya replied. This was not a talisman for magicians but also for ordinary people. All ordinary people needed to do was to tear the paper a bit and then it would be activated.
“Then I have to be careful.” Samuel looked at the stack of paper and felt a bit of headache.
Riya chuckled. “The drawing is not that big. Unless the tear reached the drawing part, I’ll not activate. After the effect run out, the drawing will turn dim.”
“Alright.” Samuel nodded in understanding.
Amelia listened and thought about the first talisman that Riya gave to her before. The drawing did look different after it was no longer cold and it looked dim. Moreover, there seemed to be some gaps in the lines of the drawing.
It looked cracked.
Since the talisman has been used and basically could no longer be used by them, no one cared for it anymore.
Samuel did say that it could be repaired, but who among them knew how to do it?
At least, before Riya appeared, no one knew how.
With that, Samuel kept a few of the talisman and handed the rest to his father, arranging him to put it in some places so that the people in the base could live better. After all, the hot temperature could kill if they were not careful enough.
“Come on, eat something and then we’ll go out.”
“Got it.”
Riya sat down and then checked the tiger in the space. She saw that he was hungry and silently gave a magic beast corpse for him to eat. It seemed she had to hunt a few more to feed her white tiger.
