Runemaster in the Last Days - Chapter 145
Chapter 145: Tagging Along
Riya didn’t know what these people were thinking.
She could see that some people were doubting her, but she didn’t have the interest to explain herself. Asking her to fight physically was clearly impossible and Riya had no interest to engage in such battle.
As for magic spells?
‘Eye of sight.’
Riya has been using this spell on herself and now, she was using it once more. With this magic spells, she could see further and noticed that the warehouse areas were really large.
There were many locked warehouse but some of them were also destroyed because of the earthquake some time ago.
Some buildings were unable to withstand that earthquake.
And among the ruins filled with various things, Riya was able to spot several magic beasts roaming around. Her eyes narrowed slightly when she saw the pile of bones on the ground.
Humans would not leave such a mess.
It could only be these magic beasts were eating each other. And if these magic beasts knew what they were doing, it was clear that they were trying to get stronger.
‘But why didn’t they do this when they’re down there?’
Riya felt that there were more questions in her mind as she saw the scene in front of her. She retracted her gaze and then asked, “How do you count the loot for the magic beasts’ corpses?”
“Whoever killed them can have it. If you don’t want it, you can trade it for contribution points,” Samuel replied lightly. “There’ll be someone recording the magic beasts’ killing.”
Riya nodded.
That’s fair.
“It’s here.” Samuel stopped in front of a warehouse and beckoned for his men to start working.
The door opened and then they moved the truck to pick up the supplies inside. Riya only took a look and then looked away. She had a lot of resources herself and there was no need to fight for this little bit.
Besides, Riya knew various medicine that used mana, which was a hundred times more effective than ordinary medicine. The problem is, what she needed was the raw materials of various herbs that she didn’t know the counterpart in their world.
‘I should look for some seeds, huh?’
Riya looked at her world and decided to make another paper puppet later to take care of her farm. If she wanted to make medicinal garden, she will have to study how to grow each and every single one of them.
Thinking about this, Riya felt a faint headache.
She would have to study everything from the very beginning again and her biology lesson was not exactly the best.
‘Should I just forget about it?’
Riya felt that she should just taught others how to add their mana into medicine and let them do their work rather than her doing it herself. Anyway, there were other ways for Riya to promote this matter.
As for the person most suitable for it…
Riya thought about Ruby or Sophia. The two of them learned medicine in university and she also trusted both of them. However, Sophia’s attitude that wanted to play around so much didn’t seem to be suitable. She also spent more time with Melly and wanted to be a vet more than a doctor.
So it would only be Ruby.
She could try to talk with Ruby later, but before that, she had to make sure Ruby could become a magician first.
‘Hmm?’
As Riya was engrossed in her thoughts, she saw a few magic beasts coming over due to the commotion here.

“Senior Samuel, there are a few magic beasts,” Riya reminded. She had the feeling that Samuel should be able to sense them too. But just in case, she would remind him.
“The soldiers can deal with them.” Samuel glanced at the soldiers behind him who saluted and then ordered the soldiers to deal with these magic beasts.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Before long, the entire areas were filled with the sound of gunshots. Even if silencers were used, it was not very effective and still made many magic beasts coming. Their hearing senses were pretty good and for these unranked magic beasts, it was the senses that they relied the most.
So if one had to say, using guns were clearly not the best method to deal with them.
RIya watched the battle and shook her head.
This kind of battle would only exhaust the ammunition and she felt that it was useless. But it might only be because she used to stay in that world where there were not firearms but magic.
After coming back, she had to adapt once more.
Bang!
Riya’s expression changed when she saw the soldiers suddenly knocked from the side. There was nothing there that was visible to the eye, but the mana fluctuation was extremely clear.
‘Invisible Magic Beast. Isn’t it a rank 2 magic beast?’ Riya thought to herself, but before she made a move, Samuel had already rushed forward.
Swish!
He attacked the spot where the soldiers used to be and a magic beast’s leg suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Samuel narrowed his eyes and then rushed to chase after the invisible magic beast.
At this stage, humans wouldn’t be able to deal with rank 2 magic beasts. Many of them were only rank 1 magic warrior at most and their strength was far from enough to deal with these magic beasts.
Riya looked at this and her eyebrows furrowed slightly.
‘It’s really troublesome.’
If these magic beasts were to grow quickly, then humans wouldn’t be able to suppress them. There wouldn’t be any point in making the base because what awaited them in the end would be their doom.
Riya walked to the side of the warehouse where there were many boxes blocking the route to prevent the magic beasts coming this way. She lightly jumped on top of the boxes and looked at the few scattered magic beasts. Raising her hand as mana began to gather, she said, “Rest in peace.”
Swish! Swish!
*Roar*
