Runemaster in the Last Days - Chapter 183
Chapter 183: Angry
Riya looked at Samuel who was catching up and her expression was cold.
If he wanted to deal with the people from the Magic Association again, he better not drag her along.
The main reason why she made a move back then was because they had implicated her in the previous battle.
“Why are you following me?” Riya asked.
Samuel looked at the white tiger under Riya and somehow guessed that Riya should also be a beast tamer. Otherwise, there was no way that the tiger would be willing to listen to her and allow her to ride him.
He has been rushing to the Business District Base and then saw as Riya killed those magic beasts so quickly.
It was really fast and swift.
All of her moves showed great familiarity as if she had done this countless times. Samuel didn’t disturb Riya and only watched from the side. And then he watched her leave and the direction she chose was staying away from the official base, Samuel chose to follow her.
“I want to know where you’re going,” Samuel replied simply.
Riya looked at Samuel with suspicion and then said, “It’s none of your business.”
“Are you angry?”
“Should I not be angry?” Riya asked back.
Samuel looked at Riya and pondered for a moment. “It’s up to you whether to be angry or not. But what I did is simply to see how your strength is.”
“I know.” Riya turned around and patted the white tiger so that it started running again. She didn’t want to waste time arguing with Samuel.
Samuel watched this scene and sighed. He silently started his own motorcycle again to chase after Riya. There were still a long road ahead and Samuel knew that no one would be happy to be distrusted.
But they barely knew each other.
Even if he knew that his sister and Riya were friends, but there were still some doubts about Riya’s real strength that Samuel couldn’t shake from his mind.
“Are you going to leave the base?”
“I don’t think I need to tell you this.”
“We have an agreement, Miss Riya.”
Riya turned her head to the side when she heard the way he called her. It was strange to hear someone call her with ‘miss’ since she was not exactly used to it. Most of the time, people would only call her with her name directly or sister if they were younger than her.
“I will come back later. Happy now?” Riya said in irritated tone.
She really didn’t want to interact with Samuel right now.
For some reasons, Riya hoped that Samuel could leave her alone and didn’t bother her in the slightest bit.
She will return to City A Base.
Because Amelia and her other friends were still there. Moreover, she also didn’t want to stay in a secluded place all year along.
She hadn’t reached the time when she had to mediate for years.
She’s still young.
So Riya refused to live like a monk yet.
But she wouldn’t return immediately.

“It’s not a matter of whether I’ll be happy or not but it’s dangerous to go out on your own,” Samuel said.
Riya rolled her eyes. “And who’s the one who put me in danger not long ago? Do you think I have no temper at all, Senior Samuel?”
“I want to…”
“If you want to see my strength, you can ask it bluntly, can’t you?” Riya interrupted before Samuel finished speaking. She had to say that she was feeling really emotional right now and really wished to beat up this man.
Samuel looked at Riya deeply and said, “If I had asked it, I doubt you’ll answer the truth.”
How many people would be willing to show their true self in front of others? Moreover, their abilities were related to their survival in the current time. Would they be willing to let others knew the truth?
It was unlikely.
Samuel himself knew that he would not be willing to tell others the truth of his real strength. Since he knew that, the only way for him to make Riya show her true strength would be through forcing her in this kind of situation.
Riya fell into silence. She took a deep breath and turned around. “Stupid.”
Samuel: “…”
Looking at Riya who patted the white tiger to let it go faster, Samuel felt helpless. Thankfully, this was not the peak speed for the motorcycle either, so he could speed up to follow Riya’s speed.
*roar?*
The white tiger has some intelligence, but it didn’t fully understand the conversation between Riya and Samuel. What he knew was that Riya was in a bad mood and seemed to want to stay away from Samuel.
The two of them didn’t really form a beast master contract and only the simplest one, which was not binding at all.
If the white tiger wanted, he could leave.
And Riya could also abandon the white tiger.
After all, when Riya took the white tiger, her intention was only to make him as her mount and nothing else. It was not important at all whether the white tiger would be loyal to her for the rest of her life or not.
“I’m fine,” Riya said lightly to the white tiger.
She could see that Samuel was following her, but she was too lazy to argue with him again.
She knew that he was right.
If someone asked her how strong she is, she would be unwilling to tell the truth. Because Riya knew very well that having her entire strength exposed would only leave her in vulnerable state.
And this was not something Riya wanted at all.
Having lived as a lone wolf for a long period of time, Riya couldn’t really bring herself to trust everyone around her.
She still let Amelia knew.
And then the few others around her.
But that was the limit.
Now, Samuel wanted to force her to show her hand… which made Riya annoyed.
