Runemaster in the Last Days - Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Discussion
Riya looked at Samuel and smiled faintly. “Knowledge can come from many places. The development of internet brought both chances and risks. Chances to be exposed to wider knowledge and risk for being outdone by many people who had also learned more.”
The competition was getting fiercer, which was why Riya felt that it wouldn’t be easy for her to survive after graduating.
She was also alone, which made it harder.
This was one of the few reasons why she chose to accept her parents’ request for the severance with a sum of money. With these money, she didn’t need to worry that much about how she would live for a period of time in the future.
But whether it would continue to be this way in the future, Riya herself was not sure.
She could only learn more and try to equip her with more knowledge.
“Everyone had their own fields where they’re good at and fields they’re not good at.” Samuel nodded.
“In that case, does Amelia can also be exempted from doing what she’s not good at?” Riya asked.
Samuel arched his eyebrows. “While she might be lazy, but her talent is really good.”
Riya nodded.
She will silently told Amelia that she had tried to talk to Samuel. Since Samuel couldn’t be talked about this matter, it meant that Amelia would have to follow the training no matter what.
Anyway, she had tried.
“Do you think that humans would be able to face the changes of the world, Senior Samuel?” Riya changed the conversation back to the mist.
“They should be able to.” Samuel looked outside. “There are things that might be out of the normal understanding, but there are also things that can help to face the currently changing world.”
Out of the normal understanding?
Thinking of Riya’s personal experience and the fact that the man in front of her is a Magic Warrior, Riya honestly believed his words.
This mist also brought the increase of mana and perhaps aura in the world.
Because Riya had no talent to practice martial arts, she was not exactly sure about the aura’s matters. After all, she was truly a pure magician who only used mana.
But this still allowed her to think of some things.
With the double increase of mana from the previous world, Riya estimated that many things would change. From plants to animals to the way that the law worked.
“What interest me more is what could possibly trigger this sudden change. Is it something that suddenly happen or there’s already a premonition from many years before?” Riya placed her hand on the window. “This is already the 10021 Star Year of the Green Star. Is it because there’s already 10,000 years since the civilization start that things begin to change or is it because of another reason?”
Samuel arched his eyebrows. “Are you starting to think that astronomy might be having a role in the change of the world?”
“I’m just saying.” Riya looked at Samuel. “There are a total of three continents and billions of people living around the planets. Is it possible for all of us to be unaware of this change if there’s already some marks in the past? I personally think that there might be someone who know what trigger it or this can be possibly to be done by humans.”
Done by humans.
It was truly an accusing sentence.
Many people wouldn’t be happy if they knew that there were people who were doubting them.
But Samuel himself also had the faint inkling that things were not so simple. Hearing this young woman bravely expressed her thoughts, he felt that she was really interesting.
How did his sister even meet with someone like her?
“That sentence need evidence to back it up. If you were to say it outright, there wouldn’t be many people who are happy with you.” Samuel averted his eyes away from the mist.
It was already dwindling.

The amount was already less than before.
But it was still not safe enough for his sister to get out.
At the very least, for Samuel, he would rather let his sister stay in this dormitory even if it might not be that comfortable.
“I know. I only say this to Senior Samuel.” Because you’re a magician and can also understand what might be behind this phenomenon.
She didn’t say the later words.
Riya didn’t want to expose the fact that she’s a magician to other people.
Especially to other magician.
The experience she had in that world was more than enough to tell her that for the sake of power, many people were willing to cross their own bottom line.
Abandoning family, selling their wives, trading their children, killing their relatives…
So many depravity acts had been done.
She hoped that this world… wouldn’t be a repeat of that disgusting practice.
