Chapter 43: Enemies Meet at Narrow Road
‘They’re really noisy.’

Riya rubbed her chest. She felt that if she were to stay inside for another minute, she would have lost her hearing for a while longer. Thankfully, the insulation was good, so she didn’t have to listen to their loud singing.

Not to mention… Sophia is tone deaf.

The song she sung was quite hard to bear.

At this moment, a woman come out from the room beside theirs and Riya arched her eyebrows in surprise.

“Sister!” The woman, Ciera, called out. There was a smile on her face.

After trying to bump into Riya for a long time, she could finally see Riya again. In the university, Riya always seemed to be able to avoid her and Ciera’s physical condition was definitely not as good as Riya.

Riya’s expression was as indifferent as ever. “I have no sister, please pay attention to your words.”

“I’m an orphan.” Riya looked at Ciera calmly.

Taylor Family was growing rich after her father’s remarriage with Ciera’s mother. It was mostly because of Ciera’s mother helping him to grow and become better. Naturally, she didn’t want Riya to have anything to do with the Taylor Family and had conflict in the matter of inheritance.

Her children, Ciera and Cero, would be the one to inherit the company and not an outsider.

Riya hated trouble.

And for her, Taylor Family is synonymous with troubles.

Ciera’s eyes flashed in surprise at how blunt Riya now is. Usually, Riya would still maintain the face on the surface even after several years had passed after that severance.

But Ciera didn’t think too much about it and she still showed a concerned expression. “But Father will be worried for you and…”

“If he’s worried, he wouldn’t be in a hurry to send me the severance letter the moment I become an adult years ago.” Riya glanced at the few people behind Ciera. “Who are you trying to show your acting skill for? You know how much the Taylor Family disliked me and never want me to exist in your and your brother’s way. You don’t have to worry so much as I have already signed the severance letter and didn’t have any relationship with your Taylor Family.”

The few people behind Ciera frowned at Riya’s harsh and direct words.

They were all from rich background and got together because of their family background. Because of their background as rich second generation, they were arrogant and there were many people who curry favor with them.

People like Riya who would bluntly speak in front of them and showed no fear was rare.

They loved their face and having to face someone like Riya just made them annoyed.

“Ciera, you…”

“You should be grateful that Ciera even cared for you.” Another one snapped at Riya. “You’re just a b*stard child who…”

“Tell that to her. When she’s born, my father is still married to my mother.” Riya looked at the man behind Ciera.

The implication was clear.

The one who cheat was Ciera’s mother and she was the one who was born out of wedlock. In accordance to the law, the so called b*stard child should be her and not Riya.

Ciera’s eyes flashed in displeasure. “What are you talking about! That’s not true, my father and mother is already together and…”

“Whatever you say. You can go to the office to check the record and if you’re influential enough, changing the date should be easy.” Riya waved her hand. “After all, the power of money is really great, isn’t it?”

She was too lazy to argue with Ciera.

Ciera always wanted to make her look bad as the ‘orphan’ child and someone who wanted to destroy other people’s happiness.

It was funny.

The one who destroyed her happy family was Ciera’s mother. And it was also because of it that she eventually lost her own mother who didn’t want a child to burden her in her new marriage house.

Riya had long gotten used to be unwanted.

Thus, she didn’t care about these people.

“Ciera is not like that!” The man who defended Ciera before yelled in anger.

As Ciera’s friend and also her pursuer, he would never let anyone talk bad about her in front of him!

Ciera looked at Riya in anger. She hated the fact that Riya was better than her. Even though Riya did nothing, her existence alone kept on reminding her that there was someone better than her.

Thus, she wanted to make things difficult for Riya as much as possible.

Usually, Riya wouldn’t dare to make things difficult because of the Taylor Family behind her.

Now, it seemed that Riya had completely forgotten the word ‘fear.’
