Runemaster in the Last Days - Chapter 60
Chapter 60: Jade
Governor looked at Peter but said nothing else. He was not close to Peter and only heard of his information from the others. But those alone were enough to tell him that Peter was not exactly a kind person.
A person who had been bathed with the cruel world and forced to live in that brutal world would be kind?
That was impossible.
But the difference in the two worlds had smoothed out the edges of these people who returned. They all knew very well that the world where they stayed was different and now that they were here, they adapted to the law very well.
Even if they still desired to meditate just like what they had done for the past few years that seemed not to exist, they didn’t want to break the law. The rules here allowed them to live in peace and it was something they all wanted to protect and keep behind.
While Peter was talking with Governor Zachary, Sophia was looking at the stone with surprise.
“You’re really lucky, Little Riya. Even if it looked like the stone might contain jade, not all stone that had such marks on the outside can truly contain jade.”
Amelia also nodded. “If only I know that, I would have been the one to buy it first”
Sophia sneered. “What do you want to do with the raw jade? Your Jones Family didn’t meddle in jewelry and jade business. Just leave it to me.”
“I want to.” Amelia pouted. “Can’t I?”
“The stone is not finished cutting,” Riya reminded, stopping the two of them from a possible quarrel. If the raw material cut open had shown the green inside, it was called a “window.”
Unfortunately, a window doesn’t necessarily mean that the jade inside would be valuable. This was because it was possible for the layer to be thin and the jade was not very valuable and didn’t worth much.
Only when the stone was completely opened would they know the exact content of the jade inside.
But a raw material that had opened a ‘window’ would be much more valuable than the stone without any of it. There were also some stones that had shown window in this section and their price was several times higher.
If the stone buyer wanted to sell the stone, they could also do that without cutting open everything. This could be done if they were not confident that the material they chose would contain jade and would rather take the small profit rather than big profit.
If the green layer was thin, the stone would be a waste. But if there were more jade inside, it would worth money in accordance to the type of the jade and also the size.
But of course, it was unneeded here.
Both Sophia and Amelia were very rich and even if they bought a lot of jades and jewelry, their family wouldn’t even bat their eyelids.
“Yes, yes, we know.” Sophia looked at the stone and thought that she could just make jewelry for all of them in the Fourth Floor Block A Dormitory Group Chat. Based on the cutting that had been made, the size was big enough for her to make some simple jewelry for all of them.
As for the type of the jade?
Does it really matter?
Sophia watched as the outer layer was removed and her eyes showed surprise. “This is the high ice type jade.”
“Ice type?” Riya tried her best to recall the numerous information she skimmed this morning. There were many types of jade. If she was not wrong, ice type was only a little worse of the glass type but it was also considered a high level jade.
The color of the jade was emerald and looked crystal clear. The size was also pretty big and looked very beautiful and enchanting.
It truly looked like ice.
Aside from the color naturally because it was emerald green and the surface reflected the lights.
“It looks beautiful.” Sophia nodded in satisfaction. “Little Riya, how about if you become a permanent counselor of Carson Family? I have no doubt that you can earn a lot of money.”
“Forget it.” Riya shook her head. “I was only lucky this time and didn’t have the interest to repeat it again.”
Besides, if she truly wanted to become a counselor, she needed to have the basic knowledge of the stone gambling and build her reputation. For Riya who liked to stay inside her room….
That would be a nightmare.

“That’s too bad, but that’s fine. You can try your luck again next time.” Sophia grinned.
“Mhm.” Riya nodded but didn’t explicitly say that she would do it.
If she always did this and become very lucky, wouldn’t she end up being very suspicious in the eyes of others?
