Runemaster in the Last Days - Chapter 63
Chapter 63: Changes of the World
But then again, Riya was not close to the Jones Family. Before this mist happened and Samuel lived in their dormitory, she had only seen Samuel a few times in the past.
There was no chance for the two of them to interact more.
“The temperature….”
Samuel seemed to be able to guess what Riya was thinking and added, “The temperature is higher than last year. I’m not sure how high it will be in the peak of summer, so make sure to keep yourself hydrated.”
In the hot summer, the chance to get a heatstroke increased exponentially. It was especially true if they were to stay under the sun for a long period of time.
Riya thought of the current temperature and nodded. It had been increasing and Riya felt that summer come early, but perhaps there would be something abnormal again that happened?
Thinking about the previous mist, Riya hoped that the world would not truly experience mana revival.
The current mana was very thin and couldn’t be compared to the magic world at all. This allowed the impact of the mana to be extremely low and the fact that many people didn’t seem to realizes about this matter and lived their lives without having to care about this.
It just that something was changing slowly but surely in this world.
She didn’t know what it was but Riya would take it slowly. If there was a chance in the future, she would try to figure it out.
But if it was impossible, she would not force herself.
“I will, Senior Samuel.”
“Ok. Take care.” Samuel bid farewell and watched as Riya went to Amelia’s car.
His eyes flickered slightly as he felt worry from deep within his heart. Even though he knew that he was not close to his sister’s friends, he couldn’t help but paying more attention to some people.
Pursing his lips, Samuel tried to push the thoughts back.
It was not the time to care about these kinds of things.
…
On the other hand, Amelia’s eyes lit up when she saw Riya coming. She smiled brightly and waved her hand. “My brother didn’t make things difficult for you, did he?”
“No, he just asks me to take care of you.” Riya smiled.
“Tsk, I don’t need you to take care of me!” Amelia protested.
Riya only smiled but said nothing more. She knew Amelia more because they had been staying in the dormitory for quite some time.
The two girls chatted as they went back to the dormitory. Riya took the stones and put them in her room while Amelia was back to the sofa to play some games. It seemed that she was attracted to the game that Sophia recommended not long ago.
Riya didn’t pay attention to Amelia and went to her bedroom. She took the stone and silently muttered the spells while arousing her Mana.
There was faint wind and the stone in front of her was chipped until it revealed the jade inside.
This was a simple wind spells and with Riya’s control, she could easily clean up these stones. After it was done with one, she continued to proceed with the next one until everything was done.
Thankfully, this process didn’t consume too many mana so Riya could still finish cleaning all up.
‘Now, make the runes.’
The essence of formation and talisman couldn’t be separated from runes. It was the type of symbols that could contain or arouse the Mana. These special runes could be made by mana itself or by other medium.
For now, Riya could only use her Mana.
Taking the pile of jade, Riya used her mana to shape them to form thin metal plate before engraving the runes. This process took a long time and very mana consuming. With her current magic rank, Riya had to take a rest every time she made one to recover her mana first.

In the end, it took all day for Riya to finish making three of them.
One formation plate and two talismans.
‘Mana Gathering Formation Plate is not that hard to make, but it certainly take a long time.’
The other two were talisman. One of them was for her protection that she would carry all time while the last one was attacking talisman if she needed it. Though, the power behind it could be a bit too much for ordinary human, so Riya wouldn’t use it unless it was absolutely necessary.
After it was over, Riya checked her animals and pursed her lips.
Due to these animals living in the environment full of mana, their strength has somehow increased to a certain degree. It was not easy for her to evaluate them without fighting directly and Riya certainly didn’t want to mistreat her farm animals.
But it was a fact hat the environment with mana had caused these changes.
Since these animals were herbivore, their behaviours didn’t change that much. The only change that Riya noticed was that their products started to contain traces of mana and their children were also stronger.
“Would the world outside also experience such a great changes?” Riya murmured to herself and looked at these animals in front of her.
In the end, Riya just shook her head.
She had no time to care about those things for the time being. Even if the animals were to get stronger to a certain degree due to the increased concentration of mana, it would still take a few years to take effect.
So there shouldn’t be anything to worry about, right?
Not wanting to think too much, Riya busied herself with other things. After planning for tomorrow, Riya went out to have dinner with Amelia.
At this moment, Riya didn’t realize that the world was changing rapidly and the mana concentration that kept on increasing will indeed have a big effect on the world.
But it was in a way that she would have never expected before.
And this change would make the world she used to know no longer be the same as before.
