Chapter 405: The Cult And The Lord of Sins I
Seven Sins System Chapter 405. The Cult And The Lord of Sins I
I flashed Puriel a mischievous grin. “We’ve ‘never been kidnapped’, remember?” I teased, throwing air quotes around the phrase. It was a reminder that our doppelgangers totally fooled everyone while we were being held captive the whole time.
Puriel sighed, her expression serious. “But I’m not sure they’ll let the academy go just because of that simple fact,” she cautioned.
“Then just show them who we are,” I said, my tone light and teasing as if it were the most obvious solution in the world. “Okay, correction. I just need to show who I am,” I added,
I cocked my head to the side, a smirk playing on my lips. “Since you are useless. You can’t even scare a cat and you just give a slut your blessing and restore her virginity. What a joke,” I muttered under my breath.
Puriel shot me a sharp glance. “I heard that,” she grumbled.
I turned to her with a cheeky grin. “Great. I don’t feel sorry about that,” I replied, my tone deliberately annoying. I knew my words would get under her skin, but I couldn’t resist the chance to ruffle her feathers.
Despite her annoyance, Puriel couldn’t help but roll her eyes at my antics. “You’re insufferable,” she muttered.
I chuckled. “Guilty as charged,” I admitted with a shrug. “But hey, we are partners in crime,” I added, flashing her a playful wink.
Puriel let out a long-suffering sigh, though I could see a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “Unfortunately,” she replied, though there was warmth in her tone that betrayed her true feelings.
“Ugh…,” the Kraken groaned, his voice strained with exhaustion.
I turned towards him. His strength seemed to wane, although his HP remained unaffected. It was likely the result of the Blood Curse I had inflicted upon him.
“Oh right, I almost forgot about you,” I remarked casually.
Despite my earlier caution, I no longer saw this place or its pathetic impostor as a threat.
Puriel released a heavy sigh, her empathy waning. “You better read his mind now,” she urged.
I flashed a sly grin. “You don’t need to order me to do it,” I scoffed.
“Envy…” I muttered under my breath, my tentacle snaking toward his ear. With a swift motion, they slipped inside.
Once the tendrils of my envy tentacle delved into the Kraken’s mind, a flood of information surged into my consciousness. It was like sifting through a chaotic maze of thoughts and memories, piecing together fragments to form a coherent picture.
What I discovered was unsettling yet oddly predictable. The cult I had encountered was not just a ragtag group of misfits, but rather a well-organized underground organization with deep ties to devilish and demonic affairs. At its helm were not one, but a collective of krakens, each assuming the role of the great leader.
It dawned on me that their whole act wasn’t just for show—it was a straight-up power move. By pretending to be each other, they could mess with people’s heads, keep control, and keep their grip on everything without anyone really knowing who they were or what they were up to.
These Krakens had come up with a pretty sneaky way to stay in control. By showing up in different places at the same time, they made it look like they were everywhere—like it was some kind of demonic power or fancy self-splitting skill. It was a clever trick that let them keep their followers in check without ever putting themselves in real danger or getting called out.
Their whole thing with staying hidden behind curtains just proved how much they relied on secrecy and lies. They never showed their real faces—instead, they cast a shadow that looked a hell of a lot like me, the lord of wrath. Total power play. It was all about keeping up the illusion, making people think they were some badass leaders who deserved respect… and a healthy dose of fear.
The revelations kept coming as I delved deeper into the twisted machinations. It was like uncovering layers of deceit and manipulation.
Among the deceitful practices, one particularly scheme caught my attention. Despite their pretense of devilish power and authority, these krakens resorted to summoning actual demons to fulfill their desires. And who did they summon? None other than my friends, the lord of sins.
What struck me as most alarming was the nature of their requests. Instead of seeking power or dominion, they asked for mundane yet insidious items—special drugs designed for addicts, prescription foods and drinks engineered for dependency, and medicines with dual effects of healing and addiction.

Chapter 406: The Cult And The Lord of Sins II
Seven Sins System Chapter 406. The Cult And The Lord of Sins II
It was a chilling realization—just how little they cared about right or wrong. They’d use anyone, twist anything, as long as it gave them an edge.
But what really made me sick was how they summoned demons. Instead of putting themselves on the line, they brainwashed someone else to do it for them. Totally messed up. These poor people had no idea—they were being used like puppets, calling in demons without even realizing they were doing the dirty work for their Kraken masters.
These Kraken may have thought themselves clever, but they were playing a dangerous game.
What pissed me off the most was seeing those poor souls who’d been straight-up brainwashed into doing the Krakens’ dirty work. This wasn’t just some mind trick or forced contract—it messed with who they were at the core. Their whole personality got rewritten, and now they were basically puppets. And the worst part? As devils, we couldn’t do a damn thing about it.
Adding insult to injury, those damn Krakens didn’t even have the guts to summon me directly—they were clearly scared. Instead, they preferred to call upon other devils like ‘Greed,’ ‘Sloth,’ and ‘Pride’—perhaps fearing the consequences. It was a cowardly move.
But what truly astonished me was the extent of their influence, allowing them to control not only individuals but entire corporations in the food and medicine industries.
Also, I stumbled upon another revelation. Looks like the Krakens had spun some wild mythology around me, calling me “The Ancient One” and tying my name to some legendary figure straight out of their old scriptures.
I couldn’t help but scoff at the audacity of their delusions. Me, the lord of wrath, getting compared to some ancient myth from their old-ass scriptures? Honestly, it was kinda hilarious. But the more I read through their so-called holy book, the more this weird, uneasy feeling started creeping into my gut—and I couldn’t shake it.
The cult’s scripture painted a vivid picture of the “ancient one” as a fearsome entity that had once wreaked havoc upon the mortal realm during the time of calamity. According to their twisted tales, this legendary figure embodied chaos and destruction.
I withdrew my Envy tentacle from the kraken’s mind, my expression darkening with disdain. “So you thought I’m the Ancient One,'” I sneered.
These Krakens, masquerading as my supposed followers, harbored ambitions far more nefarious than mere worship. They weren’t here to praise me—they wanted to use me. Twist my name, my power, all of it, just to take over this realm and bend everything to their will.
It was a chilling revelation. I mean, I’m a devil with serious power, and yet these mortals—these wannabe cult leaders—thought they could play me like some kind of pawn. Pretending to worship me while scheming behind my back? Please. They were nothing but greedy, power-hungry assholes hoping to chain me up and make me their weapon.
Their methods were devious. Absolutely vile. They ran twisted rituals, messed with demon energy, and started harvesting low-tier demons just to crush them down into dark crystals—like they were stockpiling magic batteries. All part of their grand plan to gain enough juice to bring me under control. It wasn’t devotion—it was betrayal, plain and simple. A total joke of everything they claimed to believe in.
That was also the reason why they deployed that twisted summoning formation and made a lot of people summon low-level demons everywhere.
They aimed to sow chaos and confusion, spreading their dark influence far and wide. Their targets were often battle academies or other places where individuals with significant power congregated.
The strategy was deceptively simple yet terrifyingly effective. By orchestrating widespread demon summonings, they hoped to provoke a response from those with the ability to combat such threats. These summoned demons, though invisible to the naked eye, posed a very real danger.
Their ultimate goal was twofold. First, to weaken these summoned demons through confrontation with powerful individuals, and second, to harvest their essence and convert it into dark crystals.
By manipulating unwitting individuals into summoning demons, they were able to spread chaos and fear throughout the realm, all while operating from the shadows, hidden from view. They were willing to sacrifice anything and anyone in pursuit of their twisted goals.
The twisted summoning formation was their brainchild, the culmination of years of dark experimentation aimed at harnessing the power of the ancient demon within my body.
However, their efforts consistently met with failure, as the ancient demon lacked intelligence or consciousness to be summoned forth. Instead, the formation inadvertently called forth other lower level demons.
What made this formation particularly dangerous was its indiscriminate nature. Unlike conventional summoning rituals tied to a specific demon or purpose, this formation operated on randomness. It could summon demons of varying types and quantities, ranging from a single entity to an entire horde.
