Chapter 1450: Stop right there
I looked around this place one more time and started to understand why it was like this.

With this large amount of life energy in the air, it was impossible for this place not to develop like this.

This was just the natural course of life.

So instead of trying to figure out why this place was like this, it was better to try and find the reason why there was all this life energy in this place.

It was a good thing that even with the large amount of life energy in the air, we were able to find a clue. Even though it felt like we were swimming in a sea of life energy, there was still a flow to it.

This was something that only someone with sharp mana senses could find, but that wasn’t a problem for either me or Aisha.

Especially Aisha since she was far more skilled in magic than I was.

Since it was related to magic this time, I stepped back and said, “You can lead the way.”

She didn’t argue this matter and gave a simple nod before following the flow of the life energy.

We walked a bit through this large cavernous space before we arrived at what seemed like a wall. But that was only because there was something that was covering the entrance.

With how quickly the plants grew in this place and how it seemed like no one took care of this place, the vines that had grown had completely covered this corridor.

This was the corridor that the life energy was flowing from.

Though standing in front of it now…

“Are you alright?” Aisha turned around to ask this after she felt the flowing life energy coming from this corridor.

I didn’t answer right away and instead took a deep breath to gather myself. Only after that did I say, “I’m fine.”

Though it was life energy that was pouring out of this corridor, this large amount was a problem.

It was just like how everything in excess was bad.

This much life energy was smothering even if it didn’t actually cause any harm.

But at the same time, the benefits that it brought were not a good thing.

Life energy absorbed by people would cause them to start recovering, but too much recovery was also bad. So we had to raise mana barriers in front of us to block the flow of life energy coming at us.

Or else we might have even started aging rapidly from the life energy overstimulating our cells.

Aisha looked at me with another concerned look before turning around to send a few wind blades out at the vines. But even though she cut the vines, they quickly grew back when they absorbed the life energy that was flowing out of the corridor.

So instead, Aisha used flames to burn away the vines.

Only with her control, she was able to stop the flames from spreading across the vines. She made it so that the flames only burned away enough of the vines that the path was cleared and kept burning the vines as they tried to grow back.

Before I could take a closer look at how she did this, she pulled me into the corridor.

At least I was able to catch a glimpse as we entered the corridor.

It was a dual casted spell.

There were flames on one side and water on the other. They were split perfectly so that the flames burned the vines while the water put out the flames.

This was a real magician…

No, Aisha was more than a real magician, she was someone that was at the level of a sage.

Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".

This was something that I already knew from the game, it was just that with the way that she acted and the things that we’ve encountered, she never really had a chance to do anything.

After all, the things that we’ve been dealing with have been related to the gods.

It wasn’t as if a mortal magician could compare to the gods that easily.

Still, she was at a level that was much higher than mine. That had been shown clearly to me during the time that we spent sneaking into these ruins.

I made up my mind then and there that I would try to get her to teach me magic once we got out of this place.

Following the flow of life energy, it seemed that we were getting closer and closer.

Though the real thing that was telling me that we were getting closer to our goal was the fact that the life energy in the air was becoming more and more dense.

It was actually getting harder and harder to resist.

Or it would have been if not for the fact that there was a light that came from my hand.

In no time at all, there was this layer of light that appeared around me.

With this layer of light, I didn’t really need to keep up a mana barrier anymore, though I did just in case since there was no telling how long the support from the Mark of God would last.

At the same time, I could see the strange look that Aisha gave me, so I said, “Let’s keep going.”

She didn’t answer right away, but she eventually nodded in agreement and started moving forward again.

Only before we could continue any further, there was a voice that suddenly rang out.

“Stop right there. You can’t go any further than this.”

The moment that this voice rang out, we immediately stopped moving.

That was because this voice didn’t actually ring out through the air…rather this voice seemed to come right from our heads. It was as if the owner of the voice was directly speaking into our brains.

There were only a few things in this world that could do something like this.

The one culprit that was the most likely was…

There was a green glowing figure that appeared.
