Chapter 1457: Come with me
The Elven King didn’t say anything in response this time.

Instead, he just calmly looked at me as if he was sizing me up.

It was clearly different from how he had the calm smile on his face the entire time.

There was still a smile on his face, but there was something different behind that smile.

It seemed that he was no longer as friendly as he was before.

But instead of taking it out on me, he turned to look at Aisha like I had suggested.

The way that he was looking at her was as if he was waiting for her answer, only Aisha didn’t give an answer.

Instead, she just calmly looked back at the Elven King as if she wasn’t fazed by the way that he was looking at her. Instead, she just looked back at him as if she was waiting for him to say something.

There was a tense and awkward silence that filled the air for a while.

But in the end, the Elven King said, “Of course. We elves naturally respect the freedom of choice, so we would never dream of forcing something on someone. This is exactly what happened all those years ago.”

It was clear that his final words were implying something.

They were said just for Aisha.

It was to remind her of how they had allowed her to leave the Elven Kingdom in the first place.

If it wasn’t for the fact that she had been allowed to leave, there was no way that she would have been able to leave in the first place. She might be the strongest high elf out there, but it wasn’t as if she alone could take down the entire Elven Kingdom.

So there was only one way for her leave and that was to be allowed to leave.

Only Aisha didn’t seem pressured at all when she heard this.

She just calmly looked at the Elven King before saying, “All elves are free in the first place. There’s no need to be allowed to do anything.”

The Elven King understood what she meant by this, but he chose not to comment.

Rather, he turned back to me to say something.

Only before he could actually say what he wanted to say, there was someone that suddenly opened the door.

The moment that this door burst open, there was a displeased look that appeared on the Elven King’s face. It wasn’t just the Elven King, it was also the other high elves that had come with him.

All of them looked in the direction of the door that opened with displeased looks, but it seemed that none of them did anything.

Rather, there were looks of recognition that appeared in their eyes when they looked in that direction.

It was clear that they knew who this person was, which was why they weren’t able to do anything to them.

Klein and the others looked confused when they saw this person, but Aisha seemed to recognize this person as well as she looked at them with a strange look.

I was the only human in this room that had a different expression.

That was only because I recognized this person as well…or rather, I recognized the strange clothes that they were wearing. This was a set of clothing that I had seen in the game, so I knew exactly what it represented.

This set of clothes was a set of ritual clothes that made it seem like this person was some kind of religious follower. No, with how well crafted this set of clothes were, it was clear that this person was someone important in this religion.

At the same time, with her green hair and green eyes showing that she was a high elf, it was only possible that she was someone high up in the religion that she was in.

Since she was a high elf, there was only one religion that she could be a part of.

Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".

She was a part of the Vivrum Religion.

This was the one religion that wasn’t affiliated with the Holy Empire since Vivrum’s followers were mainly elves. As such, the main church of the Vivrum Religion was based in the Elven Kingdom.

Though that didn’t mean that there were no followers at all in the Holy Empire.

It was just that it paled in comparison to how many were in the Elven Kingdom.

Once this priestess came in, she didn’t even pay any attention to the Elven King.

Instead, she looked around the room as if she was looking for something until her eyes finally fell onto me. The moment that they did, it was as if there was a trace of recognition that flashed in them before she came towards me.

The Elven King narrowed his eyes seeing this and stopped her before she could reach me, “High Priestess, this is hardly the time to be playing around, don’t you think?”

The one that the Elven King called the High Priestess didn’t even flinch when she heard this. In fact, she turned to look at the Elven King as if it was her first time seeing him in this room.

It was as if up until this point, she didn’t even recognize that he was here.

After looking at him for a bit, she said, “There’s been an oracle.”

The Elven King deeply knitted his brows when he heard this.

Though there was a trace of doubt that was in his eyes, it was hardly the place for him to question this High Priestess. Especially since she represented the one religion that the entire kingdom was a part of.

Seeing that the Elven King was silent, the High Priestess turned back to me.

Then to my surprise, she said, “I need you to come with me. You have to accept the oracle.”

The Elven King didn’t remain silent this time as he said, “High Priestess, are you suggesting bringing the humans to the Tree of Life?”

In his voice, there was a low and threatening tone to it.
