Chapter 1506: Magic ruins (6)
This was a wall of magic knowledge that had appeared.

This magic knowledge was something that was completely unknown to the students, but it wasn’t something that was that high level either that they weren’t able to understand.

The most important thing was that it wasn’t just one attribute that it mentioned.

It was a wall of magic knowledge that involved many different elements of magic, so there was something there for everyone that looked at it.

Even if one didn’t have the same element as the information there, this was still useful information for them since it involved manipulating mana on a scale that they had never seen before.

Without a doubt, this was knowledge that would help anyone that was aspiring to be a great magician.

The only problem was that it didn’t last long.

The students did what they could to take down as many notes as possible, but the ‘reward’ that was given didn’t last long. It only remained on the screen for around ten minutes before disappearing.

“Is that it?” The students complained, but there wasn’t anyone that could do anything about what happened.

In fact, they had no idea what was going to happen next, so they were getting ready just in case.

Only the white light that had been around them suddenly cut off and they were thrown into darkness. That was until there was an opening that appeared in the wall behind them.

This was the same opening that we had gone through to enter this egg like structure in the first place.

On the other side was the head teacher.

The head teacher was just standing there with a smile on his face as he asked, “How was it? Did you enjoy the experience?”

There was no one that was able to answer with a proper look on their face.

After all, everything had happened so suddenly that no one had been able to react at all.

“You can take the same test later if you want. You don’t have to worry about not being able to take this test again. It’s just that you might not receive the same score and get less of a reward this time.”

As he said this, he slowly looked at me with a strange look.

I knew what he was implying the moment that he looked at me like this.

At the same time, I knew exactly what kind of bait he was dangling in front of me.

“If you leave now, you won’t be able to experience this again since we’re the only ones that have this thing.”

That was basically the gist of what he said.

Though from the way that he was looking at me, I could tell that the head teacher seemed a bit surprised that I had gotten the top score. Or at least that was what I thought the surprise in his eyes meant.

When I looked at the others and found that they were looking at me in a similar manner, that was when I was certain that this was the case.

That meant that they had some way of watching us while we were taking the test inside of the egg like structure.

After a moment of silence, the head teacher turned back to the rest of them to say, “Alright, it’s time for the next test. Those that are confident in their abilities should stay and take this next test. Those that aren’t should come out now.”

Then he looked at a group of younger students and said, “Your group will be required to come out. You’re too young for this and won’t be able to pass. It’ll be dangerous if you stay in here.”

They looked disappointed when they heard this. As well, it seemed like they wanted to argue against these words.

Only the head teacher’s voice didn’t seem to broker any arguments.

The way that he said this was as if his words were final.

So in the end, they had no choice but to leave as well.

I thought about it and prepared to leave as well since there was nothing for me to gain from taking this higher level test. I had barely been able to understand the knowledge that they offered in the beginner test, so it wasn’t as if I would have any use for the knowledge that they would offer in the higher level test.

If I needed it in the future, I could always come back to learn it.

It wasn’t as if the door was closed to the Sorcery Empire since they were interested in something that I possessed.

But in the end, the head teacher said, “Is the top scorer quitting already? You shouldn’t do that, you should be an example for others.”

Unlike before where he convinced the younger students to quit, he was now convincing me to stay in the test.

With the pressure that was in his voice, it was as if he wouldn’t accept anything other than a yes answer. It was as if he was almost insisting that I go and take this test as well.

I couldn’t help revealing a bitter smile when I heard this, but I didn’t get to say anything.

“Right, how can you quit now?”

“You can’t quit, not after we’ve come this far!”

“Can you still call yourself a magician if you quit now?”

It wasn’t just the older students that were calling for me to go with them, it was also the sea witches.

In fact, there were excited looks on the faces of the sea witches as if they were enjoying some kind of entertaining ride.

It really seemed like they wouldn’t let me go no matter what I said.

“Is this the price of popularity?” I couldn’t help silently thinking to myself when I saw the way that they all looked at me.

In the end, I fell for their peer pressure.

When they all pressured me like this, I really couldn’t do anything about it.
