Chapter 1520: Pushy demands
It was finally time to return.

The sea witches were satisfied with everything that they had experienced in this Sorcery Empire and at the same time, it wasn’t as if there was anything else left to do here.

That was why we were planning to head back.

Only on the day of our departure, there was quite the commotion.

There were quite a few people that had gathered because we were leaving.

The most surprising thing was that there were…four sages that came to see us off.

Other than the Azure Sage and the Verdant Sage, there were two other sages that we had never met before. Since we had never met before, it was strange that they were even here to see us off.

However, here they were seeing us off.

It was one sage in grey robes and one sage in red robes.

It wasn’t hard to guess what their sage titles were based on these robes that they wore, but it still didn’t explain why they were here.

The Azure Sage and the Verdant Sage also seemed like they weren’t happy to see these two here.

But at the same time, it seemed like there was nothing that they could do about it as the sage in the grey robe approached me.

“Can we talk in private?”

I was surprised to hear this sage in grey robes asking this question, but it wasn’t as if I could just say no. At the same time, with everyone that was here, it was certain that he wouldn’t actually do anything to me.

So in the end, I slowly nodded in agreement.

When we were off to the side alone, the Grey Sage suddenly said, “Our Sorcery Empire wishes to hold an exchange of knowledge as well.”

When this was the first thing that was said, I couldn’t help being caught off guard.

After all, this certainly wasn’t what I had expected him to say all of a sudden.

I looked at the Grey Sage with a strange look before slowly asking, “Um, what kind of exchange are you looking for?”

The Grey Sage said with a smile on his face, “Just like how we’ve opened up the Sorcery Empire to you and your guests, we hope that you will open up your kingdom to our students.”

I couldn’t help looking at him with one brow raised, but then I slowly started to understand what he meant by this.

It wasn’t that our Kite Kingdom had anything that was worth studying for the Sorcery Empire that was obsessed with magic.

Instead, it was the guests that we had in our Kite Kingdom that held their interest.

It was all because we had these guests that the Sorcery Empire wanted to send their students to us for this exchange.

In short, it was an exchange with the guests that were currently in the Kite Kingdom, rather than it being an exchange with the Kite Kingdom itself.

Though I didn’t really mind if they wanted to get closer with these guests of ours.

After all, the human race’s stance towards the other races was quite cold before this. It wasn’t that they didn’t have any dealings with the other races, it was just that they didn’t initiate it.

Now that they actually wanted to interact with the other races was actually a good thing.

Especially with the situation that the world was in.

“Well, if you’re willing, then I see no reason why our Kite Kingdom cannot host you.”

I didn’t even get to finish what I wanted to say as the Grey Sage suddenly stepped forward and grabbed my hands to say, “Of course we’re willing. In fact, I think that we should come with you right now.”

I couldn’t help being caught off guard by how enthusiastic the Grey Sage was.

However, I also didn’t get to say anything as someone suddenly said, “Don’t you dare try to get ahead of us!”

I turned to see that the other three sages were approaching us.

The looks on their faces made it clear that they were anxious about something while also looking displeased with the Grey Sage.

When they came over, they started complaining about how the Grey Sage was trying to get ahead of the others. They were also complaining that this matter hadn’t been decided yet and that the Grey Sage couldn’t make a decision on his own.

But the Grey Sage looked at me instead as if he was waiting for a response from me.

Once the other three sages saw this, they didn’t hesitate to look at me as well as they started giving their own reasons for wanting to go.

It really didn’t seem like they had decided on anything yet with the way that they were talking.

Only it seemed like they were quite passionate about this.

With how they raised their voices, it didn’t take long for the others that came to see us off to hear this. Most of them that came were students from the magic academy who had gone into the ruins with us, so they were familiar with me.

When they heard that they had a chance to go on a study exchange, it was as if all of them had suddenly been injected with chicken blood with how excited they became.

They didn’t waste any time asking if they would be allowed to go on this study exchange and how many spaces there were.

It didn’t seem like any of them cared about what my opinion on this study exchange was.

It seemed that the only thing that they cared about was if they would have the chance to go on this study exchange.

This really was my first time experiencing this.

Even though it was a request, it was more of a forced request that didn’t seem like they would listen if I told them that we wouldn’t accept them.

Though it wasn’t as if I would reject them if they really wanted to come for a study exchange.
