Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1524
Chapter 1524: Wave after wave
As they were getting closer and closer, the ones behind me couldn’t take it anymore and released their attacks.
However, there were some that didn’t release attacks with holy magic or divine energy.
These were the other royal guards that had used their wyverns to carry the ones from the Holy Empire over.
They had their wyverns release their flames at these creatures.
The problem was that since these creatures were made of corruption energy, it didn’t have any effect on them. The corruption energy just ate the flames that were shot at them.
In fact, it even seemed to make them stronger since they absorbed the corruption energy that was formed when the flames had been turned into corruption energy.
Shaking my head with a bitter smile, I said, “These are creatures made from corruption energy. Only use holy magic or divine energy against them.”
But while I was saying this, I had already raised the Staff of Earth and created earth spikes that I shot out.
These earth spikes were made from divine energy, so they had no problem cutting through these creatures. But that wasn’t the only thing that they did after they were shot out.
Once they pierced through enough of them and came to a stop, the earth spikes broke apart and suddenly formed a small wall. This wall wasn’t big enough that the creatures weren’t able to go over them, but it wasn’t as if the creatures could go over them that easily.
This was a wall that was made of earth that contained divine energy after all.
As creatures that were made of corruption energy, they just could not resist the effect that the divine energy had on them. So when they tried to jump over the wall made of earth filled with divine energy, the only ones being hurt were them.
It wasn’t enough to completely finish off these strange creatures, but it was enough that they would be impeded when trying to approach.
The walls did their job and stopped the wave of strange creatures from charging forward.
That gave the others enough time to use their attacks against them.
With the strange creatures being funneled by the walls, the attacks that they used had an even greater effect than they normally would have. After all, it splashed on the strange creatures that were all funneled into that one spot.
The problem was that…
“It really doesn’t seem like there’s an end to them.”
There were waves and waves of these strange creatures coming from the depths of the ruins and with the way that they continued coming, it really didn’t seem like there was going to be an end to them.
While it wasn’t actually hard to deal with them with the wall funneling them and the attacks killing them, there was the problem of running out of stamina.
It wasn’t as if we had unlimited stamina to deal with all of these strange creatures that were charging forward. But it also wasn’t as if we could just ignore all of these strange creatures that were charging at us.
It really seemed like we would be overwhelmed eventually with how many different waves came.
“I’ll create a distraction while you all escape.”
“Let’s push forward and fight them until the end.”
There were many different suggestions that came out when everyone saw the endless waves of strange creatures that came out of the depths of the ruins.
However, I didn’t agree to a single one of these plans.
After all, these were plans that were made out of desperation and we hadn’t been pushed to the point where it was necessary yet. Unless we absolutely had to, I didn’t want us to start panicking like this.
But the situation really didn’t seem good…
That was until the number of strange creatures coming out of the depths of the ruins seemed to drop.

They no longer swarmed out like before, it seemed that there was a limit to how many of these strange creatures could come from the depths of these ruins.
But that didn’t mean that we weren’t exhausted because of this.
Dealing with all of those strange creatures during this time had taken quite a bit of energy and mana.
So there were suggestions that we rest up or regroup before heading deeper into the depths of the ruins.
“No, we have to strike while the iron is hot. If we let them catch their breath, there’s no telling how many more of these strange creatures will come out.” I said in a firm voice.
The others seemed a bit hesitant, but they agreed with what I said in the end.
After all, it was clear that there was something that was creating these strange creatures deep down. This lull in the tide of these strange creatures showed that there was something that was creating them and that it had run out of energy.
So before it could regain energy, it was best to attack as soon as possible.
Though we decided to head in deeper, it wasn’t me who was leading the way.
It was still Joan who was leading the way.
I felt a bit guilty about making her do this, but she really was the only one that could lead the way.
After all, it was only her flames that could tell us which direction the source of the corruption energy was.
So I sent people forward to watch as the flames spread out. I had them make sure to pay attention to the direction that the flames were heading.
However, it didn’t seem necessary as the corruption energy here was quite thick and the area was quite wide. As the divine energy flames spread, it only cleared out a small area of the corruption energy.
It seemed like it would be quite draining on Joan if she were to use the flames like this to clear our way.
But it also didn’t seem like there was any other way…
That was until I felt something coming from deep down.
