Chapter 1525: Strange pull

“What is this feeling?” I couldn’t help muttering as I focused on that sensation coming from inside of me.

It was as if there was something that was pulling me from the inside.

It was as if there was something that wanted me to go in a certain direction.

However, I had no idea what this feeling was…

That was until I took a closer look deep inside of me to find that it was the divine energy that had appeared inside of me after exploring the ruins.

This divine energy had been idle to the point where I had even forgotten that it existed, but now it was suddenly acting up. I really had no idea why it was acting up like this, but it seemed like it was reacting to something.

Closing my eyes, I allowed myself to be taken over by the pull of this trace of divine energy.

When I allowed myself to sink into this feeling, I noticed that it was a very particular direction that this divine energy was pulling me in.

It was the same direction that the divine energy flames were heading in.

“Could it be?” I couldn’t help saying to myself again.

“Holy Son, what’s wrong?” The leader of the holy knights and the head priest asked me this when they noticed that something was off.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard this and I saw that everyone was looking at me. It seemed that all of them were curious and a bit concerned as they looked in my direction.

A faint smile appeared on my face when I saw this before shaking my head to say, “It’s nothing. It’s just that I thought I heard something.”

They nodded to show that they understood, but it didn’t seem like they were going to let this matter rest. It seemed like there was something that they wanted to say with the way that they still looked at me.

Seeing this, I couldn’t help shaking my head and giving a sigh, but I still said, “Alright, I think that I have an idea of where to go. Do you trust me enough to let me lead?”

The moment that I said this, it seemed that all of them felt relieved as the expression on their faces suddenly changed.

These were looks of trust that they showed me, trust that I didn’t really understand.

It was one thing for Ariel and the others to show this expression to me, but it was different from the holy knights and the priests. After all, this was my first time meeting them and we certainly weren’t that close.

For them to trust me like this really didn’t make any sense at all.

But when I looked closely, it almost felt like there was something familiar about the way that they looked at me.

I had seen this kind of look from someone in the same position before, but the look in their eyes was directed at something else. The look that they had was directed at the gods.

This was a look that almost seemed like they were worshipping me…

“No, no, this isn’t the kind of look that you should be giving me. This is the kind of look that you should only give the gods…If you look at me like this, this is nothing more than disrespecting the gods and that’s the last thing that you should do.”

I really wanted to say these words, but it was hard to say it in this place and with the way that they looked at me.

Shaking my head, I said with another sigh, “Alright, follow me.”

They all nodded in agreement and moved behind me, but they also stood there as if they were prepared to rush forward if anything happened. It seemed that they had turned themselves into my bodyguards.

I just ignored them as I headed in the direction that this pulling sensation was directing me.

It was the same direction that the flames had been heading as well.

But since the flames hadn’t completely cleared out the corruption energy, it meant that there was more corruption energy that was in front of us.

Instead of having Joan clear it out, I looked at Ariel before raising the Staff of Earth as well.

Instead of clearing out all of the corruption energy that was in front of us, all I was doing was creating a path while Ariel was clearing it out with the divine energy mist. Like this, we continued down this path while still being surrounded by corruption energy.

It was certainly daunting to be surrounded by corruption energy like this, but I made sure that everyone retained their energy. After all, there was no telling what would be ahead of us.
