Chapter 388: Top 100 Remain
Xu Qianghua sat back in his seat, his eyes momentarily drifting away from the arena as his mind connected with Li Xinyue with the connection they have through the basic system module.
‘Xinyue, how’s the situation?’ he asked, his tone calm but serious.
In the Xu family’s private subspace, far from the bustling stadium, Li Xinyue sat inside a large control chamber, surrounded by swirling arrays and complex formations glowing with protective energy. Her silver eyes flickered as she monitored the situation.
‘The void beasts are getting closer, but so far, it’s only the young ones,’ she responded swiftly. ‘We’ve counted a few hundred in total, but thankfully, there aren’t any adult ones in sight… for now.’
Xu Qianghua smiled slightly, running a hand through his hair. ‘That doesn’t sound too bad, but we can’t take any risks. Are they moving in a predictable direction?’
Li Xinyue nodded, though he couldn’t see her. ‘Yes. Based on their movement pattern, they’re following a path that should take them past the subspace without direct collision.’
She then paused, narrowing her eyes at one of the detection screens. ‘Still, we’re not taking any chances.
I’m preparing to shift our position slightly and reinforce the concealment formation. That should make sure they don’t take any unnecessary interest in us.’
Xu Qianghua leaned back further, closing his eyes as he recalled everything he knew about Void Beasts.
They weren’t just mindless creatures. Their thick, rock-like skin made them highly resistant to energy attacks, and their ability to move freely through subspace made them incredibly difficult to track, let alone fight.
Most troubling, however, was their instinctual hunger for life-rich worlds. If these beasts ever found their way to a planet, they would consume everything—energy, matter, even the very air—until there was nothing left but a dead husk drifting in space.
And even if these younglings were just passing through, if they accidentally detected the Xu family subspace, it wouldn’t take long before stronger Void Beasts came looking.
“You’re doing the right thing,” Xu Qianghua finally said. “Let’s not risk unnecessary conflict.
Move the subspace to a safer route, but keep monitoring them. If an adult Void Beast appears, notify me immediately.”
“Understood.”
With the conversation finished, Xu Qianghua’s attention returned to the ongoing matches. After a whole day of matches, most of the top 100 have been selected, with just a few remaining.
The arena was buzzing with energy as the final fights of the second stage played out. The remaining competitors were giving it their all, knowing that this was their last chance to secure a spot in the next round.
Meanwhile, the spectators were cheering and shouting, their enthusiasm palpable. The atmosphere was electric, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Finally, after a tense final round, the top 100 were determined. The crowd erupted into thunderous applause as the names were announced.
Among them, the names of the Xu family members stood out, with all of the members entering the top 100, the highest number in the competition.
“It looks like we’re finally reaching the end of this round,” Bai Lingyun commented, sipping her tea elegantly.
“Mhm,” Liu Meiying agreed. “Once this stage is over, we’ll be down to the top 100. The next rounds will be even more intense.”
Xu Qianghua smirked slightly. “That’s what makes it exciting.”
His gaze shifted back to the arena, where the final matches were wrapping up. The atmosphere was electric, and the anticipation was palpable.
Everyone was focused on the outcome, knowing that these last fights would determine the fate of the competitors.
Finally, the last match concluded, and the top 100 were selected. The audience burst into raucous applause, and the competitors were escorted off the stage, exhausted but exhilarated.
Just then, the arena lights brightened, and Elder Xu Yong stepped forward once again, signaling the end of the second stage.
“With that, the second round of the competition has officially concluded!” his voice boomed through the stadium, amplified by the formations.
The crowd erupted into cheers, clapping and cheering for the remaining contestants who had fought their way into the next stage.

“After two days of intense battles, we have now reduced our competitors from 400 to 100! Each and every one of them has proven their strength, determination, and skill.”
He gestured toward the young warriors standing on the stage, their faces a mix of exhaustion and pride.
“Give them all a round of applause!”
The audience did just that, their excitement echoing through the stadium.
Xu Yong waited for the noise to settle before continuing.
“Tomorrow, we will begin the third round. During this round, we will reduce the top 100 competitors down to 50, and the 50 remaining will be the finalists. So, everyone should rest up tonight and prepare for the next round.”
He smiled warmly, his expression full of encouragement.
“May the best win, and may fortune favor the strong.”
The audience clapped once more, their enthusiasm infectious.
“But that is for tomorrow! For now, all remaining participants are free to rest and recover.”
With a final bow, Elder Xu Yong dismissed the competitors, officially marking the end of the second stage.
Xu Qianghua leaned back, stretching his arms slightly. “Well, that was fun. Let’s see how things shape up tomorrow.”
As the crowd began to leave the stadium, the representatives from various sects and families exchanged knowing looks.
The competition had been intense so far, but the real battle was only just beginning.
Xu Qianghua noticed the reactions and chuckled softly. “Looks like everyone’s excited for the next round. I can’t wait.”
With that, he and the ladies exited the VIP box and headed toward the Xu Family manor, ready to return home and rest.
Back in the Xu family’s private subspace, Li Xinyue continued monitoring the situation. She had already shifted their location to a safer path, but the Void Beasts were still within range of their sensors.
“So far, the younger ones are sticking to their course, but we’re keeping an eye out for the adults,” Li Xinyue murmured, her eyes focused on the readings.
