Chapter 434: Everything Is In place
The sun had barely started rising, but the deployment zones were already buzzing with quiet movement.
Dozens of camps had been set up across the major danger areas marked by Xu Qianghua. Each camp wasn’t small.
They held anywhere from one hundred to three hundred cultivators—divided into scouting teams, formation specialists, combat squads, and medical support.
These weren’t ordinary soldiers.
Every one of them came from the Xu family’s pool of high-grade family cards. Trained in everything from battlefield survival to formation disruption, they moved with quiet efficiency.
At one of the larger camps nestled behind a ridge near the western hills, Elder Xu Muhan stood at the edge, watching the teams work.
“Make sure the detection barrier is active. I don’t want anything slipping through without us knowing,” she said calmly.
“Yes, Elder!” a formation cultivator replied as he placed the last spirit disk into the ground and activated the array. A faint ripple ran along the air as the concealment field stabilized.
Nearby, several squads were unloading supplies—pill jars, recovery talismans, energy stones, and short-range communicator tokens.
Xu Muhan turned to her assistant. “How many are settled in this zone?”
“Roughly two hundred and fifty, with more arriving in rotations. We have three formation teams, two combat squads, a healer unit, and long-range scouts. Backups will arrive by dusk.”
“Good. Keep it quiet. Tell the patrols to move in pairs. I don’t want anyone wandering off alone.”
A little further in the camp, two junior cultivators were busy staking spirit nails into the ground to support a defensive formation.
“You think they’re really gonna come here?” one asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
“Doesn’t matter,” the older one replied. “We’re here to be ready if they do.”
“I heard the beasts are already hitting some mines out west.”
“Yeah. And we’re not letting them get past this ridge.”
Over in the northeast zone, a camp of three hundred cultivators had already set up along a forested slope.
Elder Xu Wenli walked through the command area, glancing at the formation layout on the large jade map. She paused next to a younger cultivator adjusting the positioning of spirit anchors.
“Make sure they’re buried exactly where the ley lines curve. Even a small error can throw off the barrier flow.”
The younger cultivator quickly bowed and corrected the placement.
“Status update?” Xu Wenli asked, turning to her second-in-command.
“We’ve set up the concealment net. Defensive formations are layered in three rings. One squad is scouting the east path, and the rest are on standby.”
“Good. Keep everything tight. These beasts are smarter now. One mistake and we’ll lose people.”
In the distance, some cultivators were reinforcing a cliff with talisman sheets and spiritual anchors, while others worked to camouflage their tents using low-grade illusion slips that blended in with the trees.
At the same time, further north near the edge of a rocky mountain range, Elder Xu Ruyin was standing on a high cliff overseeing a smaller camp of about two hundred cultivators.
Though the team was smaller, they were all elites—meant for mobility and fast response.
Xu Ruyin pointed toward a valley below. “This area has unstable spiritual fluctuations. I want three squads there—two to build a buffer formation and one on constant patrol.”
“Yes, Elder!”
Formation disks were being placed. Talismans were stuck to cliff walls. Scouts disappeared into the trees and hills, keeping low and out of sight.

But they all knew what they were doing as many of the wild animals did not even notice these people at all, as if all of them had disappeared.
In all camps, the work was fast but clean. Every cultivator had their role and knew what they were doing.
And in every zone, Shadow members had already started slipping in—sometimes without even being noticed at first.
They didn’t take charge, but they passed along information.
Small jade slips. Quick whispers.
One captain read through the latest report. “Movement near the southern foothills. Mid-tier beasts spotted, but nothing aggressive yet.”
Another squad leader received a sketch from a Shadow operative who they had med while they were scouting—beast tracks and direction, marked clearly.
“Looks like they passed through here two nights ago.”
Rather than big flashy battles, everything was being set up like a massive net—quiet, wide, and filled with hidden edges.
One team near a hidden lake was just finishing their concealment array when a scout came running back.
“There’s another group just a few hundred meters out. We thought it was wild beasts at first, but they’re organized. Could be part of the tide.”
“Let the Shadows confirm it,” the squad leader replied. “Don’t engage. Stay quiet. We’re here to prepare, not to start the fight.”
In some places, two or three camps had already begun to overlap. The teams would set up joint defense lines, blending their formations to cover a wider range.
This can help the bases stay safer, and messages travel fast.
A senior formation expert passed a small scroll to his captain. “New update. Zone seven has confirmed a full beast pack circling the valley. They’re not attacking yet, but they’re definitely watching.”
“Then let’s watch back.”
Thanks to Lin Yue’s map and Bai Lingyun’s updated routes, none of it felt random.
There was a clear system in place.
Even with over five thousand cultivators deployed across multiple continents, everything moved like clockwork.
Orders moved through spirit slips.
Checkpoints were passed quietly.
This made them almost invisible to the normal eye, which is more than enough for the beasts as they do not have much in mental cultivation, which all of them take advantage of.
And all the while, campfires stayed low, voices stayed quiet, and eyes stayed sharp.
No one wanted to be the one who triggered the first wave.
Back at the rear coordination post, another group of cultivators was packing more supplies.
This wasn’t the end.
More waves would be sent soon.
But for now, the first layer of defense was in place.
Everything and Everyone is in place.
Hidden.
Ready.
Waiting.
