Chapter 441: Xu Family Soldiers vs. The Reinforcements 3
The duel didn’t stop.
The world around them blurred as Raguth swung again and again, each strike heavier than the last.
But no matter how hard he hit, Xu Huan didn’t break. She didn’t stumble. She didn’t even flinch.
She kept moving.
Smooth. Calm. Like a river sliding through rocks.
Every time he tried to get a clean hit, she’d twist, block, or redirect it just enough. Just barely. But it was enough.
And that’s what got to him.
He growled, his eyes wide with frustration. “Why aren’t you fighting me properly?! Use your strength!”
He tried to use these taunts to rile his opponent up, as he could tell that this match would not be something he could win with force.
And Xu Huan didn’t say anything. Her sword flicked forward and left a shallow cut across his shoulder.
Raguth roared and slammed his weapon down with both arms. The ground cracked beneath them.
But she wasn’t there anymore.
She had already moved behind him, talisman glowing in her hand.
He spun around, swinging wild, but only caught air.
“Stop dancing around!” he shouted.
That’s when he realized it.
She wasn’t trying to beat him with strength.
She was breaking his rhythm.
Little by little.
Move by move.
Every time he attacked, she’d shift his direction, force him to overstep, and waste energy.
She was studying him in real time. Memorizing the pattern of his strikes, his footwork, how his tail twitched before a lunge, how he lifted his shoulder before a wide swing.
She wasn’t fighting to win with power.
She was fighting to make him lose control.
And it was working.
Raguth’s breathing turned ragged. His strikes got sloppier. His stance started opening wider with every swing. He wasn’t hitting air anymore—he was swinging at ghosts.
He was not used to prolonged fights as he was always someone who would only fight with the weak, and for him, humans were the weakest of the bunch.
But this fight had made him realize that his force and strength were nothing if he could not even land a hit.
In the distance, the beast army was still struggling.
The Shadow members were everywhere now, cutting off escape routes, leading beasts into illusion mazes, and trapping them in slow-motion pockets of spirit energy.

Some of the smarter beasts tried to rally.
And this would have been a good tactic if they were grouped together without anyone trying to murder them before they could even make a sentence actively.
Also, they couldn’t find their commander.
They couldn’t regroup.
They couldn’t see the battlefield clearly anymore.
Their center had fallen apart.
And when the center crumbles, everything else follows.
One by one, they were getting picked off.
Meanwhile, Xu Huan was still in control.
A sharp jab to Raguth’s ribs. A slash across his thigh. A blow to the wrist.
None of them fatal.
But all of them effective.
She was dismantling him piece by piece.
Raguth’s roars grew louder, angrier. He swung in a wide arc, letting out a blast of Qi that tore through the dirt and trees.
But you can see fear in his eyes as he tries his best to fight off this human.
And as Xu Huan dropped low, rolled, and popped up behind him—again.
She pressed a talisman to his back. It flashed and exploded in a wave of suppression energy.
Raguth stumbled forward, nearly falling.
“You’re not listening,” she said quietly, her voice like ice. “You’re not calm. That’s why you’re losing.”
Raguth gritted his teeth and charged with a wild snarl. “SHUT UP!”
Their blades clashed again.
But this time, he wasn’t fast enough.
Xu Huan pivoted and stepped inside his guard.
She struck.
Once. Twice.
Then, she spun around his back and slammed her palm into his shoulder.
Raguth howled.
He turned—but too slow.
Her sword swept low.
Slash.
His right leg collapsed.
Another flash of metal.
Slash.
His left arm hit the dirt.
He tried to swing with the other, but she was already above him.
Her foot slammed into his chest, knocking him flat.
Dust flew.
Silence followed.
He coughed, blood leaking from his mouth. His limbs were gone—cut cleanly.
He blinked up at her, still stunned.
“You… coward…”
Xu Huan stepped over him, reached into her sleeve, and pulled out a thin talisman with swirling black ink.
She pressed it to his forehead.
It burned into his skin with a hiss.
A seal flared across his body, locking down every bit of spiritual Qi he had left.
He gasped as if his soul had been suffocated.
“No more talking,” she said.
He twitched.
Then passed out.
All around her, the forest was nearly still.
The beast army was gone.
Scattered.
Most were dead or dying.
Some were trapped.
A few lucky ones might have escaped.
But none of them won.
Shadow members stepped out of the trees, dragging captives, marking the field, and cleaning up traps.
A few of the special unit squads were already tending to the wounded—but the injuries were light.
Not one human had died.
Xu Huan looked around.
She saw victory.
Not loud. Not flashy. Not messy.
Clean.
Just like the plan.
One of her vice-captains jogged over. “Commander?”
“Report.”
“All enemies neutralized. The remaining captives have been sealed and moved to the containment zone.
Shadow teams are sweeping the area. Reinforcements are on their way to rotate us out.”
“Good.”
He hesitated. “And him?”
She looked at Raguth’s body—still breathing, but barely.
“Keep him alive. We’ll extract what we need. Send word to Yan Yuehua. She’ll want this one personally.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The night wind picked up again.
The fires in the distance were being put out. The scent of blood was fading.
The forest was still now.
Xu Huan turned her back on Raguth and began walking toward the command tent.
Behind her, the battlefield was full of the fallen—but not a single one was from her side.
This wasn’t just a win.
It was a message.
The Xu family was ready.
And tonight, they made that clear.
