Chapter 453: The Western Continent Is Being Conquered
The skies over the Western Continent darkened, but no one paid much attention at first.
Storm clouds weren’t unusual here, especially near the flatlands stretching from the Jade River to the cities beyond. The horizon always looked heavy. People were used to it.
Inside the main regional command tower of the Qing Alliance, several leaders sat around a glowing table, discussing the week’s results.
“We’ve pushed them back near the riverbank,” one clan elder reported.
“Reinforcements reached the Longwind cliffs on time. No significant damage,” said another.
General Zhou, one of the top military heads in the region, leaned back in his seat with a small smile. “They’re running out of energy. As expected.”
Across from him, Elder Fan sipped his tea. “Let them. Once the northern and eastern fronts settle down, we’ll finally have a clear edge.”
Another leader chimed in. “It seems the Xu family’s methods worked in other regions, but we haven’t needed them here. Our systems held.”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Confidence was thick in the air.
They didn’t know that their confidence had made them the target of the psychic beast’s attack, which the beast could use to boost the confidence of the beast soldiers.
They didn’t know that beast units from three other continents were already flying toward them.
They didn’t know that the psychic beast had redirected a wave of reinforcements with one goal—to hit the West so hard, it couldn’t recover.
They didn’t know what was coming.
Not yet.
However, this was their fault as they had not used any of the formations that the Xu family’s formation master provided, which had a long-distance sensor that could detect beast tides coming in.
But they were about to, just not in advance, which they would have been able to use to make preparations.
On the outskirts of the continent’s northeastern border, the first warning came in the form of a wind.
Not normal wind.
It howled across the plains like a scream, carrying the pressure of hundreds of Spiritual Qi signatures.
The guards stationed at the front lines looked up.
And froze.
The clouds weren’t clouds.
They were wings.
Wings, horns, armor, fangs—an entire storm of beasts descending like a wave of black fire.
One shouted, “Sound the alarm!”
But it was already too late.
Within minutes, the northern barrier was overrun.
The eastern walls fared no better. The formations set in place weren’t layered properly. The moment the pressure hit, two of the main seals cracked and shattered, and beast soldiers poured in like floodwater.
The southern entry near the Longwind cliffs, thought to be impossible to breach, fell within an hour.

The cliffs themselves were destroyed—leveled by beast shock troops that dove straight through with explosive energy cores strapped to their backs.
Cities burned.
Farms were torn apart.
The beasts did not leave anything behind; they took what they liked and then burned the entire place down, and they were laughing happily as they did this.
Entire relay stations fell silent within minutes of being attacked.
Back at the command tower, communication crystals began to dim.
The tea on Elder Fan’s table rattled.
General Zhou’s smile faded.
“What’s going on?” one of the captains demanded, staring at the control board.
“Eastern perimeter—lost.”
“Northern line breached.”
“Longwind cliffs… destroyed.”
The room fell silent.
No one spoke.
Zhou stood slowly.
“…What?”
A shaky officer responded. “Sir… we’re being invaded. All three fronts.”
The glow from the map showed red zones spreading fast. Dozens of cities were now marked as contested. Several had already gone completely dark.
“How? How did they get past our scouts?”
There was no answer.
Because the truth was simple.
The commanders had been watching in the wrong direction.
They assumed the pressure would remain spread thin across all fronts.
They didn’t expect the beast faction to abandon three other continents just to crush one.
And now, the price for their laziness is being paid by the dead civilians.
The armies were in chaos.
Orders were delayed.
Some cities didn’t even believe the warning until beasts were already in the streets.
Panic spread faster than flames.
One by one, cities began to fall.
Smoke billowed into the skies as the beast army surged across open plains, heading straight for the central region of the Western Continent where most of the powerhouses lived.
Still, the commanders tried to rally.
They activated ancient weapons.
Summoned old sect guardians.
Reinforced spiritual towers.
And at first, it looked like they might slow the invasion.
In one city, the Tiger Fang Clan managed to hold a beast army back for half a day using tier-four formation cannons. The streets became a battlefield of roars and screams.
In another, the Windfire Sect launched every last spirit warrior they had to defend the skies, even though their leader knew they weren’t coming back.
But it wasn’t enough.
The beasts were too many.
And too coordinated.
These weren’t scattered war packs. These were elite strike groups—handpicked by the psychic beast to overwhelm weak points and slaughter resistance before it could organize.
General Zhou personally led a defense squad near the capital border.
He cut through dozens of beasts.
Shouted orders.
Refused to retreat.
But when the third wave came—and their support didn’t arrive—he was cornered.
His blade shattered. His armor broke.
And though he survived, his core was injured beyond repair.
He would never fight again.
Elder Fan tried to escape to one of the relay towers.
He never made it.
His convoy was caught on the edge of the Red Mountain trail and torn apart.
His head was delivered to the command hall before nightfall.
By the end of the second day, one-third of the Western Continent was in flames.
Another third was in retreat.
The final third… was just waiting to be overrun.
And the top families?
Most had lost their armies.
Some had died.
The few that remained locked themselves inside their cities, hoping the walls would hold until someone else saved them.
But no one was coming.
They hadn’t asked for help.
They hadn’t listened when they were warned.
And now…
They were alone.
