Chapter 277: Quin’s wedding
Silva called in Sage and then had everyone, including himself, leave the room, leaving only Sage and Azreal.
“Should we not be there to help her? She has lost her father and brother, and now she might actually lose her mother,” Aris said.
“I know, and that’s why she has to face it herself, take out all her emotions now, and do what she needs to.
If she decides to cry her heart out, then that’s good; if she decides to punch Azreal, then fine. But the only way she’ll be able to accept this completely is by herself, or so I believe,” Silva said and walked away.
He walked alone down the hallways, his mind lost in thought. He wondered how his life here would have been if Azreal had never been involved in all this.
The change that occurred—could it have been stopped if Azreal never did anything?
“The more I seek out freedom, the more I realize that I’m just a puppet to someone’s game or whims,” Silva said to himself.
He headed to the throne room and sat down, waiting for the results of Sage’s discussion with her mother. After more than thirty minutes of waiting, the doors of the throne room opened, and Sage walked in.
She looked absolutely normal, but Silva could feel her distress. So he came down from his throne and walked toward her.
When he got to her, she immediately hugged him tightly and broke into tears. Silva held her tightly as she bawled her eyes out.
And for the first time in a long while, he felt an emotion he hadn’t felt in a while. It was not anger and rage like before—no, this time it was sadness.
His heart bled as he saw his sister crying, and knowing that there were some truths she was yet to learn made him feel worse.
“M-my whole life has been a lie,” Sage said while sobbing.
“Not your whole life. Your father was real, and so was your brother, and so am I. Everything that you and I have been through, it’s been real without a doubt.
Even your mother, the one you grew up with, was real, and she loved you. Azreal can try, but she can’t take away what you have experienced,” Silva comforted her and held her tightly.
They stayed that way for minutes until she finally stopped crying.

Later that day, Silva had a meeting with his innermost circle, the Guardians—his brothers, Sage, Lia, Roxy, Aris, and Aaron.
When everyone was in the room, he used several preset formations to ensure that no one, not even a hero or demon king, could hear anything.
After all, Elaine and White Fang were here, and he didn’t want them knowing anything that he was planning.
“Thank you all for being here today. It’s been a really hectic day for me with all sorts of troubles coming up left and right.
Today, we discovered that humans are not as they seem. There exist ten powerful families, made up of the first humans the celestials created before the war.
And these versions are far more powerful, with abilities that would astound you. As it seems, Sage and I come from one of these families.
Our mother was not what she seemed. This is not something that I would normally tell you—I would have kept it all a secret—but I need backup for when Sage and I go there.
I know for a fact that they have something planned, and I need all your help. Right now, there is a chance that, even though I have ensured this room is sealed off, someone might still be listening in.
So the details of what I’ll have each of you do will not be mentioned here; they will be delivered to you separately and cautiously.
I want to find out what this original family stuff is about. Every one of their secrets—I want it. And, like I said before, I need all your help for this,” Silva finished talking, and nobody had anything to say against what he said.
“Now, onto a far more better and interesting topic—Quin’s wedding. We have spent a whole lot of time doing other things, and I have set his marriage on hold.
Now, before I end up killing myself on one of my crazy adventures, I’d like to make sure I have a nephew or niece.
So, Quin, what do you think?” Silva asked with a genuine smile.

“Bro, you don’t just spring things like this on me. I have to get ready—the money needed, all the arrangements, and everything else,” Quin said.
“Quin, everything will be handled by the kingdom. Lily will take care of the planning and everything that will be needed.
You just have to say a word, and whatever you want will come. No holding back at all. You have been there for me regardless of what I’ve done so far.
So take this as my way of saying thank you. Tell the wife that you are getting married,” Silva said.
The whole room burst into happy noise with everyone congratulating Quin. When the noise finally died down, Quin saw an opportunity to get back at Silva, so he took it.
“Since we are on the topic of marriage, Silva, when will you get someone you’ll marry? After all, you are an adult now,” Quin said, flashing Silva a sly smile.
The whole place burst into chaos again, with everyone asking Silva when he would get married. The ladies were all looking at him to see what he’d say.
“Not happening, at least not for the time being. I’m too young, and as a dragon, I’ll probably live for thousands of years. I have enough time to think this through,” Silva said. He got up and left the room, leaving everyone stunned.
Did he just say that he wouldn’t marry anytime soon? He used the dragon’s age to say it would take a lot of time.
