Chapter 109: Anya’s First Battle

When Anya heard it, her eyes lit up. “No wonder I felt such a massive reservoir of energy still hidden within the depths of the bloodline that hasn’t been fully absorbed yet.”

She then added, “I’d rather take your approach and hunt beasts to gain experience quickly. Doing it in the beast space would just take too much time.”

Cain nodded in agreement. “Well, that’s your call, and honestly, I’d probably do the same if I were in your position. Let’s head back and regroup with the others—about an hour must have passed in the outside world by now.”

After stepping inside the portal and back into the outside world, Cain waved his hand as he took back his clone and the portal before walking out of the room, heading towards the others that were still in the restaurant.

“Big Brother Cain, over here!” Ayla shouted and waved her hand when she noticed Cain was walking towards them with Anya.

Cain only smiled in response as he thought that they must have been waiting for a while since the tables were already being cleaned up, leaving only a few jars of wine for Dante and Fenix.

“What took you so long? We were this close to leaving without you!” Ayla puffed her cheeks in dissatisfaction.

“Leaving? And where exactly were you planning to go?” Cain asked, patting her head softly.

“Uncle Fenix wanted to show us his strength by hunting big beasts!” Ayla said it excitedly, mimicking a boxer as she punched forwards with her small hands cutely.

When Cain heard it, he glared at Fenix coldly as if asking him what the hell was going on while he left them for around an hour.

Fenix raised his hands defensively, replying through their telepathic bond, “My Lord, this isn’t entirely my fault! This little girl keeps calling me a fraud, saying I’m lying about being the strongest and an alchemist. Please, just let me regain some dignity this one time!”

Fenix said it to Cain through the bond between them since Cain and his summoned character basically could do something similar to telepathy like he did with the system but with a certain limit.

Cain shook his head before looking at Ayla with a smile. “Let’s rest for a few hours first. We’ll have plenty of time for beast hunting later.”

“Why not now?” Ayla pouted, puffing her cheeks even more.

“Little girl, it’s because after the hunt, we’ll head straight to the auction. Plus, Anya will be hunting her own beast—why not watch her show off her new strength? You’ll get to see how powerful she’s become.”

Cain pinched her cheek as he thought that there was no way he would go hunting without getting any rewards again. That’s why he wanted to take a rest until the cooldown expired.

Fenix, Dante, and Lyra were a little bit surprised when Cain mentioned Anya’s new strength; they instantly scanned Anya and were taken aback when they found out that Anya had reached the Peak-level Dominator Rank in only around a day within the beast space.

Fenix and Lyra were completely clueless as they didn’t know what method Cain used to help her become strong this fast.

But, Dante on the other hand, had a clue, thinking that it must have been related to the blood because Anya’s bloodline was the same as his and Cain’s.

Before Ayla could respond, Sylvia became excited when she heard that Anya was also going to show her fight since Anya basically could be considered as her first friend.

“Really? Big Sis Anya is going to fight?” Sylvia asked excitedly.

Anya came forward and ruffled her hair, “Of course. I’ll show you how strong I’ve become.”

Subsequently, Cain summoned Li Meilin out of the beast space and let her quit her job as well as book a few more rooms for the others, as one room wasn’t enough, and he wanted them to rest in the real world so that it would only take around a few hours.

Hovering above the sky near a new mountain range, Cain was scanning the surroundings as he wanted to find a beast for Anya’s first hunt.

Cain planned to let Anya finish filling up her experience first before letting Fenix show his strength because this was his original plan all along, as helping Fenix show his strength was just a bonus gesture for lending Fenix a hand.

After hovering around for five minutes, Cain finally detected a beast that he thought would be a perfect beast for Anya’s first hunt.

When the distance was just 300 meters away from the fire leopard, Cain was finally able to see the leopard.

He noticed that it was just almost similar to any other leopard, except that its claws were burning trails on the ground. The trees around it were seemingly scorched and bore the scars of a battle.

When it noticed the arrival of a group, it became a little bit wary when it detected two Dominator Rank Awakeners and one Dominator Rank Magician.

Since Cain didn’t want to make the fire leopard wary of them, he told Anya to jump off while they watched the battle from above.

Looking at the Anya, who looked as if she wanted to fight with it alone, it immediately snarled in response, and flames licked its maw as it prepared to attack.

The leopard launched itself at Anya, moving with blinding speed. Its claws ignited mid-air, glowing white-hot as they slashed toward her.

Anya darted to the side, her agility far outmatched its raw speed. The ground where she had stood erupted in flames as the leopard’s claws struck it.

Anya retaliated instantly, summoning a whip as she used her [Advanced Foxfire] skill. The glowing, mystical flame lashed toward the leopard, but the beast dodged with feline grace, flipping midair to avoid the attack. It landed silently, its molten eyes locked on Anya.

The beast roared, releasing a wave of fire from its maw. Anya raised her hand, conjuring a shield by using her [Advanced Foxfire] skill to absorb the attack, causing the mystical flames to dance harmlessly around her.

Anya smirked, taunting the leopard, “Not bad for a cat.”

When the leopard saw Anya’s expression, seemingly mocking it, its claws immediately glowed brighter as it activated its [Blazing Strikes] skill, enhancing the power and heat of its attacks.

It dashed toward Anya in a blur, its claws slashing in rapid succession. Each strike left flaming trails in its wake, forcing Anya to stay on the defensive.

Anya gracefully avoided the strikes, her movements fluid and precise. She countered with a burst of her [Foxfire Explosions] skill, aiming to disrupt the leopard’s relentless assault.

The explosions rocked the battlefield, and the leopard was forced to leap back to avoid being caught in the blast.

The leopard’s tail ignited, and it used its [Inferno Tail Lash] skill to attack from a distance.

The fiery tail whipped through the air, striking with explosive force. Anya narrowly dodged the first strike, but the second grazed her, sending her skidding backward.

Anya wiped a little smear of blood from her cheek and smirked. “Looks like I need to take you a little bit more seriously. Let’s try my new ability on you, shall we?”

Anya clasped her hands together, summoning four clones as she decided to try her new ability.

An illusion materialized around her, and four clones appeared beside her, each radiating a fraction of her power. The leopard frowned as its eyes flickered between them, trying to determine the real Anya.

The clones attacked simultaneously, coordinating their strikes. One clone darted forward, engaging the leopard in close combat. Another launched [Foxfire Explosions] to pin the beast down, while the remaining two circled, creating openings for Anya.

The fire leopard roared in frustration, using its [Ember Wave] skill, a fiery shockwave that radiated outward. The clones evaded, but one was caught in the blast and dissolved into flames.

Anya herself dashed forward, using the distraction to land a direct hit with her whip formed from the [Advanced Foxfire] skill, wrapping it around the leopard’s foreleg.

The beast howled as the mystical flames seared its flesh, but it twisted violently, using its sheer strength to break free. It leapt into the air, its body igniting completely as it unleashed its ultimate skill, [Flaming Meteor Dive].

The leopard rocketed toward Anya, a blazing comet of fire and fury. Anya’s senses sharpened as she calculated her next move. With a flick of her wrist, she directed her remaining clones to intercept.

Two clones launched themselves into the path of the leopard, detonating in a brilliant display of [Foxfire Explosions] skills. The force disrupted the beast’s trajectory, but it powered through, landing with a thunderous crash that shook the ground.

Anya had anticipated this. She leapt high into the air, conjuring a massive sphere above her as she used her [Advanced Foxfire] skill. The glowing orb of mystical flames pulsed with energy, casting the battlefield in an eerie blue light.

The leopard snarled and lunged upward, using its powerful hind legs to close the distance. Anya smirked. “Got you.”

She hurled the sphere downward with all her might. The orb collided with the leopard mid-air, detonating in a fiery explosion that consumed both combatants in a blinding flash of light.
