Chapter 127: Anya’s Turn
When Garran heard it, he was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Fenix to be so powerful, especially since Butler Zen was known as the strongest Conqueror Rank in their entire family.
Not only that, Butler Zen was so formidable that even Lucan’s protector would likely lose against him if they fought seriously. Garran knew this because Butler Zen himself had once estimated a 60–70% chance of defeating Lucan’s protector.
That was precisely why Butler Zen accompanied Garran when they went to confront Lucan. Even if they ended up cornered by Lucan’s protector and Draven’s men, Butler Zen was confident he could at least help Garran escape even if it came at a price.
Furthermore, Garran himself was also stronger than Lucan and was regarded as one of the top fighters in the academy among those at his rank.
The source for that strength was from the physique that the Stormborne family had inherited for generations. The Stormborne Family’s physique was actually not to be underestimated because even though their family couldn’t be considered one of the top forces in the entire world, their family was used to being one.
Their family’s unique physique, the Thunderclad Vessel physique, could even be said to be in the top 1,000 physique ranks in the entire Main World. However, because of their ancestor in the past, their physique was cursed by a powerful sorcerer, resulting in the decline of their family’s strength.
From the once second only to those of the strongest forces on the Main Continent, they were forced to relocate to another continent, where they managed to remain a dominant regional force.
To make matters worse, their bloodline was forbidden from setting foot in the Main Continent at all since they would be detected and killed directly if they were to step even an inch into the Main Continent.
…
“Are you sure?” Garran asked with a frown just to confirm, as he still couldn’t believe it.
Butler Zen glanced at Garran and nodded seriously. “Yeah. That’s why I honestly felt relieved that you chose to side with their group because after I gave it some thought, I felt that there’s something more than meets the eye with their group.”
“Hmpph! Do not underestimate my instincts.” Garran snorted with a smug expression since Butler Zen protested and even attempted to persuade him once when Fenix’s first combat had just begun, but he ignored him and told him that this was an order because he was adamant about his decision.
As Garran and Butler Zen were having their own little conversation, the situation on Lucan’s side was not good, as they had sent three people, and all of them were dead.
Not only that, even if Fenix’s body condition wasn’t at its peak, they realized that Fenix didn’t seem to care as if he had been through a similar situation like this many times before.
“Sir, what should we do now?” Draven asked with a worried expression because after this was his men’s turn to fight, and he was just a little bit worried in case he failed the mission, as he noticed that even Lucan’s protector showed such a solemn expression.
“Now, let’s end this with all of you going at once.” Lucan’s protector ordered as his gaze swept Cain’s group, intending to see their response.
When everyone heard it, the atmosphere immediately became tense as they thought that Fenix was going to face six people at once when his condition wasn’t that good in the first place.
“Big brother Cain, they are going to send six people directly. Please, save Uncle Fenix!” Ayla urged, nagging at Cain as she tugged Cain’s sleeves with a worried expression.
The reason why she knew the situation was because she eavesdropped on Dante’s conversation that they were going to send six people at once.
Ayla had also become closer to Fenix as she had taken refuge in him when she mocked Lucan and was almost caught because of it. So, after she knew that she was being protected by Fenix, she naturally felt grateful to him and became closer afterwards.
That’s why after Fenix’s first fight, she just realized that Fenix had been protecting them this whole time with his life on the line, and when she heard that they were going to send six people at once, she immediately became genuinely worried.
“Alright, alright, it’s time to help him since he would really die at this rate if they were ganging up on him six at once.” Cain chuckled and patted Ayla’s head softly, reassuring her to not worry anymore since he had decided to help Fenix now.
He then glanced at Anya and smiled. “Anya, it’s finally your turn.”
When Anya heard it, she grinned as she got up and stretched her body gracefully. “Finally, my time to test my new strength.”
“Anya, remember the mission and stay in human form.” Cain reminded her because he didn’t want to show Anya’s half-transformation to others since he didn’t intend to kill Garran and his protector.
“I know, don’t worry.” Anya replied with a smile before jumping on the ground and approaching Fenix slowly.
One of the reasons why Cain had always been acting as if he didn’t take this seriously was because there was Anya, who would become much stronger than Fenix if she were to fight with full strength seriously.
Because she had awakened her tails up to the 4th tail, if she were to fight while using her power until the 4th tail, her strength would be quintupled.
With her strength that was quintupled, she would definitely be able to even contend with them by herself if she was willing to pay some price.
That’s why Cain literally had never taken them seriously and instead thought about the consequence because he knew that even if their group were to fight with Lucan’s protector and Butler Zen, he was confident that they would be able to kill them all if he was willing to pay some price.

However, the others didn’t know about this, resulting in them becoming worried naturally and fooling Lucan’s group, as he had heard a phrase saying, ‘To fool the enemies, you must first fool your allies,’ or something that even Cain wasn’t sure about, but at least he knew what the phrase meant.
Naturally, that’s not the only reason why he never took them seriously, because he had the strongest trump card up his sleeve that he wouldn’t use unless he was forced to do so.
Because this trump card might not only save them from the current crisis but could lead to a future problem since he was strongly advised by the little creature to not use it.
As he was thinking about it while waiting for the showdown, he immediately came back to his senses when he felt someone tug his sleeve.
“Big Brother Cain, why are you sending Big Sis Anya? Isn’t her rank lower than Fenix’s?” Sylvia asked with a worried expression since Anya was her first female friend that was there and acted as her older sister when she hadn’t met her older sister before.
“Don’t worry. Even though her rank is lower than Fenix’s, her strength is far stronger than Fenix’s if she were to fight seriously.” Cain reassured her, patting her head and letting her sit beside her.
“Really? Didn’t Uncle Fenix say that he was the strongest in this world and there wouldn’t be anyone who dared to be the first if he were the second?” Ayla asked curiously, as she thought that Fenix was the strongest.
“He indeed could be said to be the strongest, but Anya now had become stronger than him after her strength had reached a new level.” Cain ruffled her hair softly while explaining it to her.
“After this, I will ask Big Sis Anya instead of Uncle Fenix since she was stronger, and Uncle Fenix sometimes scolded Ayla if she asked too many questions.”
Ayla nodded seriously, thinking that she wouldn’t ask Fenix anymore, as she was also forced to ask Fenix because she only wanted to learn from the strongest.
Naturally, this conversation was being heard by the others, resulting in Draven’s group thinking that Cain was bluffing as he was being cornered.
However, their expression instantly became solemn when they noticed that Fenix suddenly released a huge fire energy as Fenix used his [Immortal Ember SS Rank talent].
Suddenly, a surge of energy exploded from him like a blazing tidal wave of heat as an immense pillar of fire shooting high into the sky. The very ground beneath his feet cracked from the sudden spike in temperature.
Whoosh!
Flames enveloped Fenix’s entire form, wreathing him in a roaring inferno. Burning embers whirled around him in chaotic eddies, illuminating the battlefield in a radiant red glow that caused shadows to writhe and dance on the surrounding. A suffocating heat licked at the air, forcing onlookers to step back involuntarily, their eyes widening in sudden realization.
“…H-His energy just skyrocketed!” someone from Draven’s group gasped.
Draven’s mocking grin was wiped clean off his face. The rest of his crew wore expressions that danced between shock and fear. It was clear that they’d grossly underestimated Fenix as they thought that Fenix was on his near end.
Fenix’s gaze swept over his enemies, emboldened by his renewed vigor. Yet in the back of his mind, he was all too aware that the Immortal Ember was a double-edged sword since if he couldn’t end this fight soon, his stamina would vanish just as quickly as it had surged.
