Chapter 215: Dragon Clan
A freezing streak cleaved the air. Lightning flared around the falcon’s wings as it instinctively attempted to dodge. It managed only a half-flutter to the side before the spike struck home, piercing clean through its body in a burst of razor-sharp ice shards.
A thunderous crack accompanied the impact, and a flurry of freezing mist bloomed outward like a final, silent explosion.
For one eternal heartbeat, everything went still. Nix could only watch as the falcon hovered, impaled on the massive spike, wings twitching with residual electricity.
Its eyes flickered, losing that fierce, lightning-laced glow. Then, with a mournful cry, it plummeted toward the ground. The towering icicle, still embedded in its chest, shattered on impact, sending fragments of crystalline frost scattering across the ravaged soil.
A hush fell over the battlefield, the winds and thunder abruptly silenced. Nix stood amid the settling debris, chest heaving, battered scales glistening with droplets of melted ice and stray sparks of fading electricity.
He tasted iron at the back of his mouth, realized his arms trembled from fatigue, and only then exhaled shakily. The falcon lay motionless nearby, one wing crooked, steam rising where its body heat met the lethal chill of ice.
He took an unsteady step forward, gazing at his fallen foe. The lingering storm clouds began to break apart overhead, light returning as if nature itself recognized the battle’s end. Nix drew a long breath, letting the tension seep out of his limbs.
“It’s over,” Nix growled softly, though no one was close enough to hear.
All that remained was the hush of wind across the mountain slopes and the satisfying knowledge that his most challenging adversary to date had finally met its end at the tip of his final, unstoppable [Ice Spike].

At the same time in the main world, there was a giant battleship flying in the sky. On the hull of the ship, there was an exquisitely carved fox with 9 tails.
Inside the main dock room, there were a few people sitting on the couch as they had a light conversation between them.
“Sir, sorry to interrupt you, but there’s important news from the Starlight Auction House. They said that the person who auctioned the item was expecting gifts of Ice Dragon and Phoenix’s blood essences from those who wanted to see him.” The envoy spoke with a serious expression as he held the jade token in his hand.
Jinyi, the strongest Guardian Elder, pondered for a few seconds before looking at Old Lao as he hesitated to make a decision since this was an important matter.
“Let’s head towards the Dragon and Phoenix Clan first then.” Old Lao immediately replied without even opening his eyes if he didn’t care about it all.
Subsequently, the envoy ordered the others to head towards the Dragon and Phoenix Clan since the decision has been set.
The giant battleship sliced through the sky with a measured grace, looming over the endless stretch of ocean before drawing near the eastern horizon.
Below, a vast island jutted up from the water, wrapped in curtains of mist and dominated by jagged peaks. Ornate stone structures were visible even from high above, each one brimming with the distinctive power of dragons.
Dragon Island was said to be reserved exclusively for the members of the Dragon clan, and no outsiders ever ventured here without official sanction. As they descended, the roiling clouds parted around the battleship’s hull, revealing a sprawling expanse of verdant forests and rocky crags.
Towering spires of stone, carved in draconic likeness, rose to greet them, and the wind thrummed with latent energy, as if the land itself recognized the presence of guests.
A colossal courtyard spread out at the edge of a massive fortress-like structure with ramparts tall enough to overshadow even the largest beasts.
Landing protocols were swift and efficient as the envoy, standing at the bow, exchanged signals with several robed figures waiting below.

The moment the battleship docked at a designated platform, a party of Dragon clan guards stepped forward in perfect formation, their draconic auras palpable.
The envoy led Old Lao, Jinyi, and the small retinue onto solid ground. All around them, the architecture was grand yet severe, with sleek columns of obsidian stone carved into shapes of winding dragons and swirling clouds.
Crimson banners, adorned with an ancient draconic crest, fluttered in the breeze. Even the air smelled different, rich with salt from the nearby ocean but tinged with the faint crackle of arcane power.
A dignified figure in flowing robes stepped ahead of the guards to greet them. His eyes gleamed with a golden sheen, pupils slit like a reptile’s, signaling his high-ranking status within the Dragon clan.
Bowing respectfully, he spoke in a clear, resonant tone. “Honored guests, welcome to Dragon Island. I am Elder Shun of the Dragon clan. We received word of your arrival and have prepared the main hall for your audience.”
The group inclined their heads in acknowledgment. Jinyi, who had his arms folded within his sleeves, returned the greeting with a calm, measured gaze.
Elder Shun gestured for them to follow, and the party proceeded toward the fortress gates. Through a wide archway, they entered a soaring hall lined with tall pillars carved to resemble coiling dragons.
At the far end, a raised dais held a magnificent seat shaped like dragon wings unfurling to either side. Stained-glass windows filtered daylight into hues of gold and emerald, dancing patterns across the polished marble floor.
Dozens of clan members stood along the periphery, their gazes sharp with curiosity. Some bore subtle draconic traits, a scaly patch along the cheek, a horn curling behind the ear, while others wore regal attire embroidered with metallic thread depicting dragons in flight. A respectful silence prevailed.
With a measured stride, Elder Shun guided them toward the center of the hall, where there was a prominent elder with silver hair and imposing features awaiting them in front of the door. His aura was formidable, a tangible weight in the air. He inclined his head slightly in greeting.
“Welcome, friends from the 9-Tailed Heavenly Demon Fox Race,” he said, voice resonating like distant thunder.
Elder Shun then stepped to one side, deferring to this higher authority, and all eyes turned expectantly toward Jinyi as they thought that Jinyi was the leader in the group.
Jinyi only nodded his head lightly in response and followed the elder with silver hair as he opened the door, leading them to head inside.
Inside the main hall, there were already a lot of high-ranking people within the dragon clan since they knew that this was no simple matter when another top faction visited them formally. Let alone the fact that the 9-Tailed Heavenly Demon Fox race wasn’t a simple top faction like any other one.
However, what everyone inside the hall didn’t expect was that the moment Jinyi’s group entered the building, the patriarch, who had been calm, immediately knitted his eyebrows as he looked at the old man who walked with the help of a cane.
The patriarch of the dragon clan deepened his frown for a second before speaking with a surprised expression. “You! Are you…”
Before the patriarch finished his sentence, Old Lao laughed softly as he looked at the patriarch. “Hahaha… Little Ming, it seems that you still remember this old man.”
The patriarch immediately stood up and greeted respectfully as he bowed a little. “Old Lao, why didn’t you say the word if you wanted to visit us?”
The other elders were stunned as they hadn’t expected that the legendary figure was present before them. They instantly followed along with the patriarch, standing up from their seat and bowing deeply as they didn’t dare to be disrespectful even just for a little bit.
“I’m just here to visit an old friend and for another simple matter, that’s all.” Old Lao replied with a smile before tapping his cane lightly. “Old Ji, your old friend is here. How dare you not show your ass up right off the bat.”
“Hahaha, as expected of you, Old Lao. It seems that your senses are still as sharp as ever.” An old man with long white hair and a beard appeared behind the group, smiling widely as he stroked his beard.
“And here you are, still as vigorous as ever even though you’re already at your doorstep.” Old Lao shook his head lightly as he tilted his head and looked at his old friend.
