Chapter 39: Cain’s Vengeance on His Ex-Fiancée
When the transparent white fire touched Darius’s body, he immediately screamed loudly in agony as the flame attacked his body and soul at the same time.
“AAHHH!”
“PLEASE STOP!!”
“I AM BEGGING YOU!”
…
After a few seconds that was just a little bit longer than Roderick before he died, his body was instantly engulfed in white flames, burning its entire body into ashes once again.
Once again…
Everyone became horrified as they watched the horrifying scene, where even they thought that they would rather get tortured than being killed this way.
‘Now, let’s get to the main culprit.’ Cain thought as he waved his hand, signaling Kael to bring his ex-fiancee to him.
Cain then unsheathed his sword and glanced at Anya, as he wanted her to release the illusion on his ex-fiancee when Cain had brought her in front of him.
When Cain’s ex-fiancee was released from the illusion, she immediately became confused as she looked around and found that she was inside the Royal Council Hall, which she had been here once before.
However, the situation she was in at the moment just made her wonder why she was suddenly here when she was supposed to be in her bedroom, taking a nap in her free time.
“Hey, bitch!”
Upon hearing a voice she knew all too well, her body trembled involuntarily.
She turned her head, only to freeze in shock as she saw Cain standing behind her, smiling at her.
Before she could react, a sharp pain pierced her chest, and she realized that Cain had stabbed her directly in the heart while looking at her with a vicious smile.
“Huh? How is it possible? You’re supposed to be dead!”
“No, this must be a dream.”
“Yeah! This is just a dream.”
As she thought that she was having a bad dream, she immediately closed her eyes and opened them again, trying to wake up from her dream.
When Cain heard what she just said, he became enraged and unconsciously used his full strength as he channeled his Foxfire Flame power to his sword, resulting in burning his ex-fiancee at once since the difference of strength between them was massive.
Sigh!
“I should’ve tortured her first before killing her.”
Cain sighed as he was triggered by his inner emotion that he immediately killed her.
‘What’s done is done. There’s no point in regretting something as pointless as this. At least I’ve fulfilled the original Cain’s vengeance.’ Cain thought to himself.
Turning his attention to the room, he raised his voice to address everyone. “Now, let’s move on to the main reason I’ve gathered you all here.”
“However… Before I finish speaking, no one shall interrupt me–not even once! If anyone dares to interrupt me, I won’t hesitate to deal with you. Consider this your only warning.”
Cain looked at everyone with a serious expression, as he wasn’t joking that he would kill whoever dared to interrupt him this time since he was in a bad mood at the moment.
The atmosphere inside the hall immediately became tense, and everyone immediately shut their mouths, waiting for Cain to speak the main reason why he gathered them all here.
Cain took a deep breath and spoke. “The reason I’ve gathered you all here is simple,” He then looked at everyone present with a smile before declaring confidently.

“I want to become the king.”
Everyone was shocked when they heard that Cain was blatantly declaring that he wanted to become the king.
However, before they could react and make a fuss, Cain continued his speech.
“Not only that, the entire royal family must leave the Capital City. While I won’t exile you from the kingdom, I will not allow you to remain here. Each of you knows why I don’t want to be involved with the likes of you.”
His gaze then shifted towards the high-ranking officials on the right side.
“As for those of you in positions of power, you may stay and keep your roles. I don’t care about the misdeeds of your past—what’s done is done.
But under my reign, such actions will no longer be tolerated. If you choose to stay, mark my words: any repeat of your past behavior will be met with consequences you’ll deeply regret.”
Cain paused, letting the weight of his words settle in their mind before continuing again,
“However, before you decide if you want to stay or leave, let me share with you a glimpse of my ambition. My main goal is to make this kingdom the strongest kingdom… In the entire world.”
Cain actually wanted to say beyond this low-level world, but he thought that it would be too much for him to say to these people, who probably didn’t even know that they were in one of the Low-level Worlds.
When everyone heard what Cain said that he wanted to make this kingdom the strongest kingdom, they were already surprised by them since they thought that Cain had a high ambition to make this kingdom become the strongest in this region.
However, when they heard the next word, they immediately became shocked, including the envoy who thought Cain was too arrogant to even dream about making this kingdom the strongest in this entire world.
Because from the envoy’s POV, he was sure that the king in his kingdom didn’t even dare to have the thought of it, let alone a mere kingdom that was not even included in the third-rate forces yet to dare even claim such remarks.
That’s why he thought that Cain was too arrogant, but strangely enough, when the envoy looked at Cain’s face, he didn’t even see any hesitation in his expression.
As if making this kingdom to become the strongest in this world would surely happen sooner or later, and he didn’t even take it seriously.
This confidence intrigued the envoy, who began to see Cain less as arrogant as he thought about him when he heard it at first.
“If you don’t believe me, you’re free to leave. Stay with the royal family or go where you wish—it doesn’t matter to me. But I’ll make one thing clear:
If within the first year, I fail to steer this kingdom in a better direction, you may leave then. However, if you choose to abandon this kingdom now, don’t expect to return. Mark my words.”
Cain looked at the crowds where the high-ranking officials were located with a warm smile, as he really wanted them to stay so that he wouldn’t find such a hassle replacing the vacant positions they had left.
