Chapter 57: Stepping into the Starlight Auction House
“Sylvia, Elara, how about visiting the Velmara Kingdom tomorrow and attending an auction?” Cain asked as he petted their head affectionately.

Sylvia tilted her head curiously. “Big Brother Cain, what’s an auction?”

“Well, an auction is an event where rare, valuable, and extraordinary items are sold to the highest bidder. It’s basically where rich people compete to buy what they desire by offering higher prices.” Cain explained as he looked at Sylvia with a smile.

Sylvia’s eyes widened, but her expression turned downcast as she bit her lower lip. “B-But, Sylvia still doesn’t have any money because Sylvia hasn’t worked yet.”

“Silly girl, don’t worry… Your big brother is rich. I’ll buy anything you want in the Velmara Kingdom later.” Cain pinched her cheek as he fist-bumped his chest proudly.

“Really? But sister Elara said that you don’t have a lot of money because you were oppressed by those bad princes and princesses.” Sylvia looked at Cain with an innocent face.

Cough!

Cain coughed as he glanced for a bit at Elara before explaining to Sylvia with a smile.

“It’s true that I didn’t have much back then, but now I’m the king! Besides, someone in Velmara recently gave me a lot of money.”

Cain said smugly as he was embarrassed that Sylvia just said he was poor when he tried to show that he was rich.

Sylvia smashed her fist into her palm. “Oh, right! Big Brother Cain is the king now, so you must be rich!”

“That’s right. So, don’t worry about money because I have a lot of money and can buy you anything you want.” Cain smiled at her while patting her head softly.

“Pinky promise?” Sylvia’s eyes lit up when she heard it, as this was going to be her first time shopping.

Cain smiled, responding to her pinky promise, and pinched her cheek softly.

“Yeayy! Big Brother Cain is the best!” Sylvia immediately jumped and hugged Cain as she couldn’t contain her happiness.

After a restful sleep, Cain awoke 15 hours later, feeling refreshed.

After taking a quick shower under a nearby waterfall, he reentered the outside world, ready to visit the Starlight Auction House.

Cain and Fenix then left the restaurant and headed towards the center of the city.

As Cain felt that it would be too long if they walked there, he immediately summoned Nix and hopped into his back before giving him the direction and reminding him to fly there slowly.

On the way there, Cain finally realized how backwater his kingdom was compared to the Velmara Kingdom because, from the liveliness alone, the difference was really significant as he saw a lot of people going in and out of the variety shops.

Out of curiosity, Cain reactivated his scanning ability. Notifications flooded his mind instantly.

He then ordered the system to change the function again, as he only wanted to scan things of at least King Rank since he didn’t want to be bombarded with numerous notifications.

After a while, Cain finally saw a massive building from afar and guessed that this should be the Starlight Auction House’s building since there were no other buildings as big as this building.

When Cain’s distance was only 4 km away from the massive building, he immediately heard a notification that caught his attention.

Cain wondered why the person that could be considered as the strongest in this world had come to this place when the strongest person in this place was only at the Peak-level King Rank.

The Peak-level Conqueror Rank Awakener’s location aligned perfectly with the massive building he had spotted earlier—the Starlight Auction House.

It seemed likely that someone of this caliber would be drawn here for a significant reason, perhaps to acquire or protect an extraordinary item being auctioned.

When they were about to arrive, Cain instructed Nix to land at a distance from the massive building as he wanted to go there by foot.

Standing in front of the towering building, Cain realized how prestigious this place was!

The Starlight Auction House’s building was really massive when he looked at it directly by standing in front of the building.

People were constantly coming and going in an endless flow, but it was impossible to take your attention away from the huge plaque emblazoned with the silver words ‘Starlight Auction House’ hanging above the huge doors.

Because Cain wanted to have the real experience of bidding at the auction tomorrow, he deactivated the system’s function specifically in scanning treasures since it would be no fun if he knew the things that would be auctioned from the start.

Walking into the buildings, Cain and Fenix quickly walked to one of the many empty counters and were greeted by a man in his early 30s with white hair who wore a white robe.

“Welcome to the Starlight Auction House. How can I help you?” The receptionist asked with a smile.

“I’d like to auction some treasures and purchase high-level medicinal materials.” Cain replied back with a smile.

The man’s eyes brightened, thinking that he might make a fortune if Cain bought and auctioned high-level treasures, as he could also earn a small commission from the transaction that happened through him.

He immediately regained his composure and asked, “Could you specify the rank of the items you wish to auction and buy? Because I’ll arrange for you to meet with the person in charge of that rank for you to discuss further.”

“The treasures that I wish to auction and buy are only in the Dominator Rank.” Cain replied as he waved his hand calmly.

The receptionist nodded quickly, his excitement barely contained. “Understood. I’ll make the arrangements immediately.”
