Chapter 66: A Fortunate Misunderstanding (2)
Old Feng and Yuchen were extremely terrified right now because they thought that the person who was in front of him was from the royal family of one of the strongest races in the world.
Although their force was considered strong enough in the Main World, they were still pale in comparison with one of the strongest races in the Main World.
Because their faction was only a subsidiary faction of the Palace of Celestial Light, that was also considered one of the strongest factions in the Main World.
Old Feng, understanding the significance of someone awakening a third tail, felt even more dread than Yuchen.
Even though he didn’t know the details, he once heard that even some of the higher-ups in the 9-Tailed Heavenly Demon Fox had only awakened until the third tail.
He also heard a rumor that even the current clan head of the 9-Tailed Heavenly Demon Fox race had only awakened to four or five tails.
Let alone the one who was in front of him was only in his early twenties at most, and he even had awakened until the third tail.
Even if he hadn’t awakened any tails yet, both of them still couldn’t afford to offend him in the slightest since Cain was from one of the strongest forces, who was technically on par with the Palace of Celestial Light.
Not to mention that Cain was even from the royal family within the race, and his status should’ve been really high, as he even had awakened until the third tail in his young age.
Most likely, Cain should’ve been at least the young master or even the future head of the clan.
That’s why Old Feng made an instant decision to force the young miss that even he didn’t dare to treat any slight disrespect with apologizing to Cain immediately because their fate was basically in Cain’s hand.
Because even if Cain killed them unjustly, the Starlight Auction House wouldn’t be able to do anything and could only remember it to their heart since even the Palace of Celestial Light wouldn’t make a fuss with another faction in their level over something like this.
Fortunately, Cain wasn’t like those so-called entitled young masters who saw everyone who had lower status than them as nothing but just an ant.
At this rate, Old Feng wouldn’t even dare to take the bet even if they won and could only curse himself to believe that someone would bet something that precious for a silly bet.
Seeing their nervousness, Cain said in a displeased tone, “Didn’t I tell you to relax? Don’t make this awkward. As long as you keep your lips sealed, there’s nothing to worry about.”
When they heard it, they stood straight while smiling awkwardly.
Old Feng then remembered something and immediately walked politely towards Cain and took out a vial before handing it to Cain with both hands as he bowed.
“Sir, this is the Ice Dragon’s blood essence that you requested. You don’t need to pay for it too, this is nothing anyway. If you ever need anything else, simply say the word, and we’ll deliver it immediately. There’s no need for you to come in person.”
Old Feng informed Cain as he bowed before standing and scratching the back of his head while smiling kindly.
“That won’t be necessary. I’ve already said I’ll pay, but it may take until tomorrow.” Cain waved his hand and smiled.
“Of course, sir.” Old Feng replied as he thought that this was just a polite gesture of robbing someone because tomorrow, Cain might forget to bring money or would extend the time until an indefinite amount of time.
However, it didn’t matter to him since he had the intention to give it in the first place.
Old Feng continued, “Is there anything else you wish to purchase?”
Cain shook his head and asked, “Can you list the nearby top forces that are particularly wealthy? Especially those whose wealth comes from less-than-honorable means.”
Cain was still considering robbing the other forces since he was a man of his word, and since he had already stated that he would pay for the blood essence, he would most certainly pay for it.
That’s why he asked Old Feng about the information related to wealthy forces since he didn’t know anything at all, and the old man would definitely know more about that information.
When the old man heard it, he immediately became confused as to why Cain wanted to know about it.
However, he didn’t think too much as he was afraid to delve into something that he shouldn’t know and could only not drag him but the Starlight Auction House into the muddy water they couldn’t afford to interfere with.
Subsequently, Old Feng explained in detail the information he asked for before.
“Thanks for the information.” Cain nodded satisfiedly and continued.

“By the way, if your higher-ups ask about the Ice Dragon’s blood essence, feel free to explain the situation. However, I must remind you not to let this incident leak beyond trusted individuals. Otherwise, it won’t just be you but your entire faction that faces dire consequences.”
Cain reminded them with a misleading word that could be interpreted with them being able to report about this incident but only to the trustworthy person.
He was certain they would definitely report it to the highest rank within the faction since this matter was really important and could decide their faction’s fate if they took a wrong step in handling it.
Cain’s purpose was to let them report it to the clan head, who was Yuchen’s father, as this would only bring him endless benefits since they would think that he was someone of a really high status from the 9-Tailed Heavenly Demon Fox race.
That’s why before he explained it to both Old Feng and Yuchen, he had thought about it for a while regarding a lot of possibilities that would happen if he revealed it to them.
“I understand.” Old Feng nodded seriously.
“Good, I’ll take my leave now. No need to see me off.” Cain immediately stood up and drank the wine that Yuchen had poured for him and said,
“What a great wine!” Cain was surprised when he drank it because the taste of this wine was indeed way better than he had just tasted in the restaurant before.
Cain immediately took the jar and put it in his inventory while walking towards the door.
“Thanks for the wine.” Cain said as he raised and waved his hand before his figure couldn’t be seen by Old Feng and Yuchen.
A minute later, after Cain and Fenix’s figures couldn’t be seen anymore by Old Feng and Yuchen, Yuchen opened her mouth as she wanted to ask about something but immediately shut her mouth when she saw the old man raise his hand, signaling her to not speak at the moment.
After waiting for a little bit more, Old Feng tilted his head and looked at Yuchen. “Inform the clan head immediately and explain the situation.”
…
Walking down the bustling street, Fenix asked Cain in a low voice as he was curious about something. “My lord, do you still intend to rob a top force? May I ask why?”
“Money, of course. What else?” Cain only glanced at Fenix in response.
“My Lord, I think you don’t have to rob anyone because—”
Before Fenix could finish his sentence, he was cut off by Cain as he was still thinking about a lot of things.
“Shut up. I’m thinking about something important. If you have free time, use it to refine the medicinal liquids and pills with the materials you already have.” Cain immediately put Fenix into the beast space as he waved his hand casually.
Inside the beast space, Fenix was displeased because he was just about to say that if Cain was short on money, he could help him since he had a lot of treasures in his spatial bracelet that would definitely be worth more than the Ice Dragon’s blood essence.
However, now that Cain cut him off without letting him explain, he didn’t think about it anymore since Cain might have a weird hobby and used poverty as an excuse.
Fenix then started to build a simple house far away from Cain’s residence since he wanted to find a quiet place so that he could focus on refining.
Meanwhile, in the outside world, after Cain had walked for quite a bit, he finally arrived in front of a tall and grand pagoda.
The place in front of him was named Nightshade Pagoda, and it’s known for its specialty in high-quality dishes and wine.
However, not a lot of people knew that this faction had a black market business they had been doing for a long time that only influential people or strong people would be able to participate in.
Cain then walked inside the building and immediately headed towards the stairs as he wanted to go to the highest floor since only the best dishes and wines would be served on that floor.
However, when he was about to go further into the fifth floor, he was stopped by a fat man who had reached Peak-level Grandlord Awakener and was asked to give an identification for him to be able to go forward into the fifth floor.
“Identification, please,” the man demanded, his voice firm.
When he was asked about an identification for him to prove that he was worth proceeding forward to the next floor, he immediately thought of the token that Thane gave him to participate in the auction since he thought that it might also be useful in this kind of scenario.
