Chapter 93: Visiting a Beast Shop
“It’s so pretty!” Ayla’s eyes lit up as she exclaimed and tried to reach out for the glowing salad in Sylvia’s Starlight feast before Sylvia playfully pushed her hand away.
“No touching my food!” Sylvia puffed out her cheeks. “It’s mine!”
Cain chuckled at their quarrel. “Ayla, wait for a bit, okay? They haven’t given us all the food that we ordered. So, just eat what’s in front of you first.”
Ayla’s expression that had saddened instantly became happy before she looked at the dish in front of her first. “Okay!”
Ayla then looked at the dish in front of her and immediately dug into the Phoenix Fire Skewers, her face lighting up with delight as the perfect spicy flavors danced on her tongue.
“This is so good!” She smiled, her cheeks flushed from the mild heat.
Sylvia took a mouthful bite of her sparkling salad, and her face glowed almost as much as the dish itself. “It’s sweet!”
She then sipped the stardust-like drink and savored the fizzy sensation. “This drink tasted like magic!”
Not to be outdone, Cain ate the Thunder Wolf Noodles, feeling the electrifying thing that left a slight tingle on his tongue.
The food wasn’t extravagant compared to the dish he had before, but the unique flavors and, most importantly, the joy on the little girls’ faces made the meal unforgettable.
As they ate, the bustling city outside the restaurant came alive with the sound of street performers and merchants selling their goods.
Sylvia’s elven ears perked up at the sound of a lute playing a lively tune. “Big Brother Cain, can we go see the music after this?” She asked with a begging, cute face as if she would cry if Cain declined her request.
Ayla nodded enthusiastically while her mouth was still full of skewer meat. “Weah! En Waybe hi ken wain samhing fan hu hu!”
Cain shook his head and looked at Ayla. “Ayla, what are you trying to say? In the future, don’t talk while you’re still chewing food because it’s a rude thing to do. Do you understand?”
He reminded Ayla with a kind smile as he thought that he needed to teach her a simple manner.
Ayla swallowed them and responded to Cain while nodding seriously. “I understand, Big Brother Cain.”
She then added, “Oh, I said: Yeah! And maybe we can find something fun to do!”
Cain smiled and wiped Ayla’s face with a napkin. “Alright, alright. I guess we’ll do that later after we’re done here. But remember, don’t wander too far, okay?”
Both girls nodded obediently, though Cain noticed the mischievous glint in Ayla’s eyes and immediately glanced at Fenix to keep an eye on her, as he didn’t want to bother much with keeping a close eye on them every second.
After finishing their meal, they then stepped out into the bustling streets and headed towards the source of the music sound that Sylvia wanted to visit before.
Sylvia clung to Cain’s arm as they made their way towards the music, her eyes widened as they watched the sights of jugglers, fire-breathers, and vendors selling a lot of things.
Ayla went ahead, stopping occasionally to adore shiny things or a lively performer.
Cain let out a soft sigh but didn’t reprimand her as he just realized that her curiosity seemed to be boundless.
“Don’t wander too far, Ayla.” He called out as they reached a small square where a bard was playing his lute.
The crowd was clapping along, and Ayla immediately joined in, her small hands clapping out of sync but with full enthusiasm.
After they enjoyed the bard’s performance, Cain tossed a Low Rank Platinum crystal at the bucket before starting to wander around once again.
Ayla tugged on Cain’s sleeve and asked while making a cute face. “Big Brother Cain! Can we go to a beast shop? Please, please?? I want to see all the cute beasts!”
Sylvia followed along as she petted Nix on Cain’s arms. “I want to see them too! Maybe they have cute beasts like Nix!”
Cain wanted to reject them, but seeing their enthusiasm was hard for him to resist. “Alright, let’s go there and look around. But remember that we’re there just to look around.”
Ayla and Sylvia cheered, grabbing each other’s hands and jumping around. “Yeay!”

Cain then ordered the system to scan a place filled with beasts and proceed to lead the little girls there.
After walking for a few minutes, they arrived in front of a large building with a colorful sign of “Wild Wonders Emporium.”
The shop was filled with the soft chirps, growls, and hisses of various beasts spilling out into the street.
Cain stepped inside first and saw the sight of rows of cages, each filled with a different type of beast. The interior was warm and well-lit, and the faint smell of hay and herbs lingered in the air.
A young man in his early 20s approached with an apron dusted with feathers. “Welcome to Wild Wonders Emporium! Looking for a companion beast, or just here to look around?”
“Just looking around, accompanying my little sisters as they wanted to see around.” Cain replied with a polite smile.
“Well, you’ve come to the right place.” The young man said with a laugh. “Feel free to look around, but be careful not to startle the little ones.”
The little girls nodded earnestly, their eyes already darting from cage to cage as if looking for a beast that caught their interest.
Ayla immediately ran to a glass tank where tiny lizard-like creatures with shining scales were perched on rocks. “Big Brother Cain, look! They sparkle like jewels!” She exclaimed as she pointed at the lizard.
“Those are Crystal Geckos,” the young man explained as he walked over. “They’re popular for their bright scales and gentle temperament. Perfect for young beast tamers.”
Meanwhile, Sylvia had wandered to a cage where fluffy, rabbit-like creatures with long ears and a single horn on their foreheads were hopping around.
“What are these?” She asked as she crouched down, hoping to get a better look.
“Those are Lunar Hoppers,” the young man explained. “They’re nocturnal and have a special ability to glow softly in the dark. They’re also quite loyal.”
Sylvia reached out carefully, and one of the Lunar Hoppers sniffed her hand before nuzzling it.
She giggled. “It’s so soft!”
Cain glanced around, his gaze drawn to a corner of the shop where more secure cages held beasts that were clearly stronger and exotic.
A small crowd had gathered there, admiring creatures within.
Cain glanced at Fenix, reminding him to watch over the little girls before walking over towards the crowd, as he was also curious.
He saw a young Storm Griffin flapping its small, lightning-charged wings.
“That one’s a handful,” The young man said with an annoyed expression as he appeared beside him.
He then explained, “It’s rare for our shop to have something so high-energy, but the owner just couldn’t resist taking it in.”
“Looks like it’d be such a hassle taming it.” Cain chuckled as he watched the young griffin zap a perch with a small bolt of electricity.
“Oh, it definitely is. But with the suitable and strong master, it could grow into a powerful companion beast.”
“Big Brother Cain! Come here!” Ayla called out, interrupting his thoughts.
He then turned to see both girls huddled near a cage filled with eggs of various sizes and colors.
“They have beast eggs!” Sylvia said excitedly, as she once had a beast egg too.
“Look at this one! It’s blue and shiny!” Ayla pointed to an egg.
“That’s a Frostscale Serpent egg,” the young man said. “Its mother was a strong Platinum Rank Beast.”
Ayla then pointed to a smaller, golden egg. “What about this one?”
“That’s a Sun Ember Sparrow egg. They’re tiny but fiery little beasts.” The young man explained with a smile.
Ayla looked up at Cain with wide eyes. “Big Brother Cain, can I get one? Please??”
“You’re still too young, Ayla. What are you going to do with it?” Cain chuckled as he ruffled her hair.
“Hmmph! I also want to ride on my own beast, you know.” Ayla snorted and looked at the golden egg as she imagined being carried by her own beast.
Cain laughed and pinched her cheek. “Do you want to torture the small sparrow to carry you? Look at your belly, it’s almost giving up because you ate too much.”
“You’re such a meanie!” Ayla pouted unhappily as she puffed her cheeks and pushed his hand away.
Sigh!
Cain sighed. “Originally I wanted to buy one for you and Sylvia each, but now that you’re unhappy, I guess I will only buy Sylvia. Which one do you want, Sylvia?” He looked at Sylvia and ignored Ayla.
Ayla immediately jumped on Cain and hung like a koala while biting his body a few times softly. “Big Brother Cain! I also want one too!”
“Alright, alright. I will buy one for you too.” Cain ruffled her hair as he shook his head.
“Yeay! Thank you, Big Brother Cain!” Ayla looked up at Cain with an overjoyed expression, thinking that she was finally going to have her own beast.
Cain even had the thought of buying the entire shop as he thought that giving some of the beasts to reward the high officials of his kingdom since he promised that he would give better rewards in the future.
He thought that the rest of the beast would be used to fill his beast space to make it lively.
Naturally he had thought of the safety measures since once in a while people such as Sylvia and the others were going to the beast space.
