- Chapter 106 - Chapter 106 Underground Half Drow Palace
Chapter 106: Underground Half Drow Palace Chapter 106: Underground Half Drow Palace Finally, after covering nearly 700 or 800 meters, the passageway split into an intersection, branching into several tunnels. In the center of this massive junction, there was a deep, gaping hole, like a giant mouth leading straight down.
Ram carefully approached the edge, feeling a strange energy radiating from the pit.
He pulled out a fire torch and dropped it into the abyss. They all watched as the flame fell, spinning as it disappeared into the darkness below, swallowed by the black void.
The depth seemed endless, the light vanishing before hitting anything solid.
“Well, we’ve come this far,” Ram muttered, glancing at the others. Turning to Thorny, he instructed her to create vines.
Long, thick vines quickly sprouted and began winding down into the hole, forming a path for them to descend.
Without hesitation, Ram grabbed hold of the vines and started the slow climb down.
Korrin followed closely behind.
They descended for over ten minutes, and though they couldn’t measure exactly how far they’d gone, the walls of the passage gradually began closing in on them, becoming narrower the deeper they went.
The space became so tight that even an ordinary person would struggle to squeeze through.
Just when it seemed like the walls might close in entirely, Ram noticed a faint light flickering up ahead.
He hesitated, unsure of what lay beyond.
To be safe, he turned to Ling’er, who sat on his shoulder.
“Go check it out,” Ram whispered.
“If anything goes wrong, come back as fast as you can.” Ling’er, the sharp and quick-thinking Sword Grass spirit, nodded her tiny head and flew down the narrow hole with incredible speed.
Moments later, she returned, confirming it was safe to proceed.
Ram exhaled in relief and used his life energy to extend the vines even further, slowly lowering himself through the hole.
The tight space suddenly opened up as his vision cleared.
His breath caught at the sight before him.
They had emerged into a colossal underground space.
The entire space was inverted, dozens of kilometers wide, shaped like a massive bell with sharp, pointed stalactites hanging from the ceiling like thousands of swords poised to strike.
Ram realized with a shock that the passage they had descended was inside one of these hollow stalactites.
The entire ceiling sparkled with countless shiny crystals, casting a brilliant light that bathed the cavern in an almost daytime glow. Looking down, Ram could see the ground far below, nearly five or six hundred meters beneath them.
A massive lake dominated the entire Underground Space, its surface so smooth it reflected the glowing stalactites above like a mirror.
And in the center of the lake, an island stood proudly, dotted with stone buildings that looked far too orderly for a place this deep underground.
Ram narrowed his eyes as he focused on the buildings.
He could make out figures moving in and out of the structures on the island. From this distance, they appeared as mere vague silhouettes, yet there was something about their movements that seemed…
systematic, hundreds of them grouped together moving in an orderly manner.
Like soldiers marching, “Is this the third layer?” Ram asked himself, his voice tinged with confusion.
“But why does it look so well-structured?” He had expected chaos, maybe like other monster dens, but this looked like a miniature civilization.

As he spoke, Korrin finally reached his side, hanging from the vines.
He followed Ram’s gaze, his eyes widening as he took in the strange sight below.
“Master, this…
this place is…” He trailed off, unsure how to put his thoughts into words. “It’s like an entire city.” Ram finished for him, but his mind was already racing, trying to piece together what this place was. The perfectly structured stone buildings scattered across the island were unnerving, as they didn’t match the wild, chaotic nature of the cavemen’s upper layer. Ram’s eyes stayed locked on the figures moving below.
Even from this height, he could easily tell they were Half-Drow-just like the Fire Mages he saw.
But what surprised him wasn’t their appearance, it was their numbers.
Where he had initially guessed a few hundred, now he could see there were well over a thousand, all gathered outside the stone palace, like an army waiting for its command.
And they weren’t just scattered about-they were standing in neat formations, like soldiers awaiting orders.
From their disciplined posture and precise movements, Ram could tell these weren’t just ordinary Half-Drow-they were Tier 3 elites. As thousands of them gathered together, the power radiating from them was undeniable, their aura heavy and commanding.
A knot of unease tightened in Ram’s stomach.
If this army were to mobilize and move up to the cavemen’s layer, there wouldn’t be a single professional strong enough to stop them.
The current forces exploring this Void Space were nothing compared to the sheer might of that army below.
He gritted his teeth, trying to piece together why they hadn’t made a move yet.
“Why are they just standing there?
Are they unable to enter the second floor in large numbers?
Or… are they waiting for something?” Ram whispered to himself, his thoughts racing.
Before he could consider the possibilities further, Korrin tapped him on the shoulder.
“Master, we’ve got company,” Korrin said in a low voice, his eyes narrowing toward a group of Half-Drow patrolling the area, sitting on a large black bird that looked like a crow.
They were moving swiftly, and from their trajectory, they would spot Ram and his group soon if they didn’t act fast. Ram’s mind snapped back to the present.
“Damn, they’re coming straight toward us.” He quickly weighed his options.
They couldn’t risk being caught.
These elite Half-Drows would overwhelm them in moments if they were discovered.
“Retreat!” Ram ordered; his voice low but steady.
Without hesitation, they hurried back to the vines hanging from the stalactite.
With practiced speed, they began climbing back into the hollow tunnel they came from. Ram moved quickly, adrenaline pumping through his veins, as they scaled the vines, leaving the vast underground chamber behind.
While Ram returned back to the cavemen tribe.
Selina tapped her fingers impatiently on the edge of her desk, the rhythmic sound filling the otherwise quiet office. Her sharp eyes stared out through the large glass window, focusing intently on the Void Gate in the distance.
The mechanical shelter outside was bustling with activity, but none of it interested her.
What she wanted-no, needed-was a report from inside the Void Space.
Three days.
It had been three long days since the teams had entered the Void Space, and not a single one had returned. Selina’s patience was wearing thin.
She had raised the difficulty level of the trial, sure, but a Grade ‘C’ monster den shouldn’t have taken this long to clear. Casualties were expected, but this level of silence was unsettling.
She leaned back in her chair, her mind racing with possibilities.
Were they all dead?
Had something unexpected happened?
Her fingers stopped tapping as a frown deepened on her face.
Behind her, one of the two captains who had followed her stood stiffly, trying his best not to draw attention to himself. Sweat beaded on his forehead and trickled down his neck.
He had been like this since yesterday-tense, on edge, knowing that Selina’s patience was dangerously close to snapping.
The captain swallowed nervously.
He had seen her anger before, and he knew all too well what would happen if they didn’t receive any news soon. As the one in charge of reporting any developments, the responsibility would fall squarely on his shoulders.
The silence in the room grew heavier by the minute.
Selina didn’t say a word, but her presence alone was enough to make the captain feel like he was standing on the edge of a cliff. He glanced at the clock on the wall.
The day was half over.
If they didn’t receive a report by the end of today, he was sure he wouldn’t survive the fallout.
Finally, Selina spoke, her voice cutting through the thick tension like a blade.
“Still no word?” The captain jumped slightly, wiping his brow with the back of his hand.
“No, commander.
Not yet.” Selina didn’t respond right away.
She just continued staring out the window, her expression unreadable.
After what felt like an eternity, she slowly stood up, her long coat rustling softly as she moved.
“If nothing comes through by tonight,” she said quietly, her voice dangerously calm, “I’ll be going in myself, even if I have to destroy the entire Void Space.” “But commander you can’t enter the ‘C’ rank monster den,” The captain paled, as he whispered softly but not daring to say it aloud. He knew If Selina went in, it wouldn’t just be a matter of finding out what happened.
It would be a bloodbath, none of those who entered can survive.
Suddenly, a figure rushed in, offered a salute, and said, “Commander, two soldiers have come out from the Void Space.” Selina’s eyes narrowed sharply, immediately snapping from her brooding thoughts.
She turned swiftly, her coat swirling as she faced the soldier who had just rushed into the office.
The tension that had been building for days now coiled like a spring, ready to explode.
“Only two soldiers?” she asked, her voice ice cold but with a hint of curiosity.
“Where are they?” The soldier, still standing at attention, saluted again.
“They’re waiting just outside, Commander.
They claim to have discovered something urgent inside the Void Space.” Selina didn’t waste another second.
“Bring them in.
Now.” The soldier nodded quickly and hurried out, leaving Selina and the sweating captain alone in the room.
The captain breathed a sigh of relief, though he didn’t dare let it show too much.
‘Saved for now,’ he thought.
