Stolen Identity: Mute Heiress - Chapter 110
Chapter 110: Fight To Win
Inside the hotel, Jamal told Stefan what Genevieve had told him about her father wanting to look into him.
“We expected it. We will have to make sure he doesn’t find anything. We will cover all the bases,” Stefan said confidently.
“I’m not sure what to think about Genevieve,” Jamal said as they walked out of the room, and Stefan raised a brow.
“She says she wants to learn to sign. Last night she told me not to look down on Abigail because she’s mute. She speaks like she cares about Abigail but then she doesn’t treat her so well.”
Stefan smiled, pleased to know that Genevieve seemed to be taking his advice to be good to Abigail. He hadn’t expected her to act on it so quickly. He was impressed.
“You don’t have to make up your mind about her yet. Just observe and decide. When it’s time for her to make a choice, her decision will determine what we think of her,” Stefan suggested.
Jamal nodded in agreement. “You’re right.”
Jamal wondered if Tom and Lucy had been able to come up with a plan yet on how to visit Abigail. Thinking about it he realized he was yet to hear from Lucy.
He made a mental note to call her later in the day since it was around 3 A.M. over there in Ludus.
Just then, his phone vibrated with a text notification and he took it out to see a text from Abigail.
[We all had breakfast together and you won’t believe he wanted me to speak with him in his study. I’m not sure why. Thankfully Genevieve stepped in. I don’t know why she did that, but she told him we were going out. So, I’m getting ready to step out with her now.]
“Is everything okay?” Stefan asked because Jamal had stopped walking and was looking at his phone instead of getting into the elevator.
“Give me a minute,” he said to Stefan as he texted Abigail back.
[Alright. Let me know where you go. Don’t forget to clear our chats from your phone.]
After sending the text he looked up at Stefan as he got into the elevator, “Abigail is going out with Genevieve.”
Stefan raised a brow, “Where to?” He asked curiously since Genevieve had not told him she had plans.
Jamal explained the situation to him about how Ryan had been in Abigail’s bedroom and Genevieve had advised Abigail to keep her door locked and also stepped in to help her avoid talking to Ryan alone.
“He was in her bedroom?” Stefan asked, his brows knitting together in a frown. “What kind of a dirty pervert is he?”
“I wasn’t able to go back to sleep after that,” Jamal said, expressing his frustration as they got out of the elevator.
“How did Genevieve know he did that, though? Do you think that maybe she saw him? Or do you think he visits her room that way?” Stefan asked and Jamal sighed.
“I don’t know. I have no idea. I really need to come up with a good plan. Something fast that wouldn’t take so long. I need her out of there as soon as possible. I don’t want her anywhere close to that disgusting pervert.”
“What if he saw the message?” Stefan asked thoughtfully after a minute.
Jamal frowned, “What message?”
“You said he left because your message came in at that time. What if he read the message? What if that is the reason he’s talking about looking into you? From your messages he would know the text was from Pete, don’t you think?” Stefan said, and Jamal’s frown deepened.
“You’re right. If he saw it then he would have found out everything,” he said thoughtfully. “But I don’t think he saw it. If he did Abigail would have known. She’s smart.”
“Well, let’s believe he didn’t. I think you should stop chatting with her. If you must, maybe you should get her another phone just for you both,” Stefan suggested, but Jamal shook his head.
“No. That would be too risky. I think we should stop chatting. It is safer that way,” Jamal said, even though he would really love to chat with Abigail.
Their safety was paramount to him. The earlier they were done with this the better for them and then he could have all the time in the world with her.
As they got to the car, Jamal unlocked it automatically and Stefan got into the passenger seat, while Jamal took the drivers seat since they had both agreed Jamal would keep driving in case they were being watched.
“I’m thinking that when I get back to Ludus, I’m going to invite Genevieve over to visit me,” Stefan said as they both fastened their seatbelt.

Jamal paused and raised a brow, “You’ve fallen that hard?” He teased.
Stefan chuckled, “I was thinking about it last night. I think if we can get her away from her father’s influence, and make her actually meet the Hanks. I think if she is surrounded by their positive influence, she might actually stand a chance at choosing the right path. Everyone knows the truth, so they don’t need to act suspicious of her. If they can make her comfortable enough and then when she lets down her guard they can let her know they know the truth and make her testify against her father and join them in exposing her.”
“That sounds like you’re suggesting it more for her benefit than ours. And it is going to take too much time that we don’t have. While she is there with the Hanks, Abigail and Josh are going to remain here with that bastard. I don’t want that. If at all she visits Ludus, I’d like the Hanks to quickly do a DNA test, confirm that she’s not Dawn and expose everything,” Jamal said as he started the car.
Stefan nodded thoughtfully. “I understand your impatience, but you can’t rush this no matter how much you’d like to. Acting rashly would be dangerous because we don’t know all the cards that Ryan has yet. You should know your enemy before waging war. And you’re in a good position to know him right now because he wants to use you. Abigail has survived the past twenty years without your help. She can survive a month or two or even a year more. If you’re going to fight, you should fight to win.”
“That sounds like something Tom or uncle Harry would say,” Jamal muttered, and Stefan chuckled.
“You know I’m wise,” Stefan said, and Jamal snorted but he didn’t argue.
As much as he didn’t like Stefan’s idea, he knew he had a point. “When you get to Ludus you can discuss your idea with Tom and uncle Harry. If they think it’s a good idea, then we will see how it goes,” Jamal said after a while.
Whatever was worth doing was worth doing well, and if they were going to get Ryan, they needed to know all the cards in his hand.
He was going to have to let Ryan use him. That was the only way he could build trust and get close enough to Ryan to know all the cards in his hand.
