Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 461
Chapter 461: Invisibility
A didn’t hear the sound of the wall breaking behind her for some time, and she quickly made her way to a trash bin on one side of the alleyway as she activated her blessing. Her blessing was a unique one given to her by Helios, the god of the sun. It was a minor blessing that allowed her to control the light rays around her and anything that she was touching. She could increase the intensity of the light, reduce it, or maybe even bend it to her will.
And when she bent light in a certain way, she was capable of making herself invisible.
Slam!
The sound of the wall breaking alerted her to the dogs approaching, and A tried her best to control her breathing while waiting for them. She was crouched right beside the trashcan, so she was sure that they would not be able to smell her, and with her blessing activated, she was invisible to the naked eye. So long as she kept her breathing under control, A knew that the dogs would not find her.
Growwwwl~
The sound of a deep growl reached A from the corner of the alley, and she felt her heart rate spike when she saw three large Anima dogs turn the corner. The dogs made their way towards where she was hiding and sniffed around the alleyway to see if they would find anything. They had lost A a while back, and the other four dogs were searching another part of the alley to see if they would find her there. The dogs looked around carefully, and one of them walked so close to A that she could practically smell its breath as it growled in her face. A swallowed quietly and tried her best to keep her heart rate under control as she stared right into the dog’s eyes while praying to Helios for protection!
After some time, another dog barked at its companions, and all three dogs turned and made their way out of the alleyway to search another part of the area. Once they were gone, A released the breath she didn’t know she had been holding and fell back on the trash while breathing heavily! She thought she was going to die there!
A decided at that moment that she was going to move to a place far away from here! She never wanted to run into Sasha ever again!
A got up from the trash and pulled out her phone to make a call. Her blessing was still active in case the dogs came back, and she eyed the alleyway with a cautious gaze as the phone rang. A had a lot of people she could call for help in her line of work. She had contacts as well as people who owed her favors, but she knew that none of them would be useful against a SOVEREIGN. If they came here, they would just be killed by Sasha without her even having to try. That meant there was only one person A could call.
[I told you to just send me the secure account. What are you calling me for?]
GHOST’s voice came through the phone with an undertone of annoyance, and A quickly spoke in a rapid tone.
“GHOST, I need help. I was making my way back and I was attacked by Sasha! I’m at the Third Avenue intersection after Lucifer’s Watering—”
Hisssssssssss~
A loud hissing sound suddenly echoed from behind A, and she stopped what she had been saying. She turned around slowly with wide eyes to see a giant snake right behind her. The snake was more than fifty meters long, but it coiled around itself and rose its head so that it towered over her by more than ten meters. The snake’s eyes were closed, but it was looking right at A like it knew she was there. Like it could see her.
Snakes are known to have a wider range of vision than humans, some studies even show that snakes could see into both the infrared and ultraviolet spectrum! And since A could only see and manipulate visible light, there was nothing she could do about her bright outline that was easily visible to the snake in other light spectrums!
“G-GHOST! Help me! Help—”
RARRRRR!
The snake suddenly lashed out faster than A could even blink and bit down hard on her, pumping her full of venom and swallowing her in one gulp. Once it was done, the snake hissed again before vanishing into a magic circle that appeared on the wall beside it.
Up on the wall overlooking the alleyway, Sasha hummed curiously while swinging her legs back and forth. She just heard that woman say GHOST, right? That meant it was GHOST that sent her to ask for information about me. This could be troublesome. Gunter didn’t want GHOST to know where we were until everything was already prepared.
Sasha brought out a phone and made a call to someone, and the voice of a young man spoke up before Sasha could even say anything.
[Is it finished?]
Sasha nodded as she stood up on the wall and looked out into the setting moon. It would be morning soon.
“Yeah, thanks for letting me borrow it. My dogs couldn’t find her with that pesky blessing she was using.”
The person on the other end of the call grunted again.
[No problem. Who was she working for? Someone we know?]
“Yeah, it was GHOST. It seems he’s getting serious about finding us.”
The person went silent for a few seconds before he spoke up again.
[Move the experiment to another location tonight before he comes. Prioritize the test subject over the anima. We don’t know how much she told him, but it will take at least three hours for him to move from City A to City B, even with his speed.]
“And what about the owner of the bar? He knows a lot about what we’re doing.”
[Kill him and everyone else involved in the experiments. Hide the bodies so no one suspects anything for a while. It won’t be long before the plan begins, so we don’t need to be too careful anymore. I’ll leave it to you. I need to go get some more rest.]

The phone disconnected, and Sasha turned down to look at the spot where A had just been standing a few seconds ago with a distant look in her eyes. Sasha was tempted to just stay back and fight GHOST when he arrives, but she decided against it. At first, Sasha didn’t understand why everyone treated GHOST like such a world-ending phenomenon when he only became a SOVEREIGN the other day, but now she knew that GHOST was dangerous because of how quickly he could grow. After seeing him fighting against an Elder Eldritch the other day on TV, Sasha knew she had to be careful of him.
GHOST had been struggling against an Eldritch during his Assessment, and now he was already capable of fighting against an Elder Eldritch. That was an unbelievable growth rate! It would be like seeing a puppy becoming strong enough to defeat a wolf after only one week! It was impossible!
