Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 462
Chapter 462: Go Check That Out
A small part of Sasha still wanted to be the one to defeat GHOST because of how he had been looking down on her during that assessment, but she knew that it was not her job to do that. Gunter already said he would be the one to kill GHOST, and no one was going to take that away from him.
Sasha turned away from the empty alleyway and flashed away from the wall to go and do as she was told.

Mark took his phone away from his ear when it suddenly disconnected. What the fuck was that? Mark furrowed his brow in confusion and tried to reconnect the call.

“Mark, is everything okay?”
Arit suddenly spoke up from behind Mark as she walked up to him, and Mark hummed in confirmation while still staring at his phone. Arit came around when she noticed Mark had been gone for too long, but she felt like Mark was bothered by something, so she didn’t say anything yet. Instead, she walked up to him and put her hand on his back while giving him a worried look.
“What happened? Did someone call you about something? Do you have to go somewhere?”
Mark shook his head while telling her that it was nothing serious.
“I just need to make a call. I’ll come in soon, alright?”
Arit nodded and told Mark that she would wait for him before going to sleep.
“If it’s something serious, then you can tell me about it. I’ll listen, okay? And… if you have to go somewhere, then don’t hesitate just because of us. I know you’re trying your best not to leave the house that often because you’re worried about us, but we aren’t going to go anywhere. We can take care of ourselves. Don’t let that one time that we were attacked stop you from doing what you have to do.”
Arit knew that Mark was really affected by the attack that almost killed her and Talia, and he had been staying at home a lot since then because he was worried there would be another attack. It wasn’t like she didn’t like seeing him at home, but she didn’t want to be the one who would tie him down like this and prevent him from doing what he had to do just because he was worried about them. There were times when Mark had to be out there helping others, and she understands that. It was the life she chose to live once she decided to fall in love with him.
Mark smiled a little and leaned down to kiss Arit on the forehead while muttering a quiet ‘thanks.’ Arit just smiled up at him lovingly before turning to leave the patio.
“I’ll keep the bed warm for you. Don’t stay too long or I’ll get cold.”
Arit said this as she left, and Mark only smiled as he watched her go. There was a sway in her hip that drew Mark’s eyes to them, but Mark just shook his head and forced himself to focus. Now wasn’t the time.
Mark turned and put out a call to another one of his contacts in City C. Mark knew that A was in trouble from the last call that they just had, and now that he couldn’t get through to her anymore, there was a chance that she was either captured or dead. Mark would have gone over to City B himself to see what exactly was going on, but he couldn’t do that because of how far it was. It would take three hours for him to go over to City B and then another three hours for him to come back after spending some time there to check on A and see if she was doing fine.
That would be about seven or eight hours when he wasn’t at home. That was more than enough time for any one of Mark’s enemies to come here and do whatever they wanted without him being any wiser. Gunter was still loose, and Mark didn’t want to leave Arit and Talia alone while he was in another city where he couldn’t protect them. Mark would only be a little more calm after Gunter is dead.
[Hello, Mark. Is something wrong?]
The person on the other end of the call was Tilda, the Yellow Phantom. Tilda was the one who helped Mark find a contact in the underground to look into where Gunter and Fiona were. It was through this contact that Mark found A.
Tilda lived in City C, which was the city right beside City B. It would take Tilda less than an hour to get to City B, and that would be far better than Mark leaving all the way from City A to try and see what was going on with A.

(A/N: I used A, B, and C wayyy too much in this chapter xD)
Mark quickly explained what was going on to Tilda.
“I got a call from A, the woman from the underground, and it seems she is in trouble in City B. She said she was in a place called Lucifer’s Watering Hole, somewhere close to Third Avenue in the slums. Can you help me look into it?”
Tilda was lying on her bed in a dark room, and she sat up groggily once she heard Mark say that A was in trouble. Tilda has known A for a while now since she uses her sometimes whenever she is trying to find out information about criminals in the underground, so she was immediately worried that something happened to A.
Beside Tilda, Lightning Rider groaned and turned around in bed. He opened one eye to look at Tilda and asked her what was going on, and Tilda just smiled and told him that it was nothing. He could go back to sleep. Tilda got up and left the room before she spoke to Mark again.
[What happened to her? Did she say anything specific?]
Mark frowned.
“She was being chased by Sasha. It seems pretty serious. I would have gone myself, but I’m too far away. When you get down there, don’t poke your nose into anything that seems too dangerous. With Sasha there, you can never be too careful. Just ask one or two people if they’ve seen her, and ask the agency that she works with if she contacted them. I’ll take it from there.”
Tilda was already putting on her panties and a pair of jeans, but she stopped once she heard that a SOVEREIGN had been spotted in City B. What the hell was a SOVEREIGN doing in the slums of City B? That place wasn’t somewhere you would expect to see even an S-rank, talk less of a SOVEREIGN. Tilda threw on a shirt and face cap before speaking into the phone again.
[Thanks for the heads up. I’ll get back to you with anything I find.]
Mark grunted in acceptance and clicked off the phone. He spared the people walking below him one more glance before turning to walk back inside.
