Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 474
Chapter 474: America Is Falling
There was a slight tremor that Tilda could feel under her feet. It was almost unnoticeable, and anyone who didn’t have a very sharp sense would not have even been able to notice that anything was happening. But since Tilda was so used to moving quickly, her feet were extra sensitive, and that allowed her to notice the tremor coming from deep within the earth.
Rumble~! Rumble~!
Tilda took a step back as the vibrations began to increase in intensity. Slowly, the people around the bar also started to feel the vibrations, and some of them began to stop what they had been doing to stare down. No one moved, and no one even dared to say a single word as they wondered what the fuck could be happening. And then the first tremor shook the entire city!
BOOOM!
It was like an earthquake concentrated at one spot suddenly exploded under their feet! Screams and shouts filled the area as people were thrown off their feet and to the ground! The people in the bar all started to run out as the building started to shake so they wouldn’t get buried by the falling debris!
“The building is falling!”
“Ahhh! What’s happening!? What’s happening!?”
“My drink!”
“Pour me another bottle~!”
“Let’s go, you drunkard! We’re gonna die!”
Tilda immediately charged forward and grabbed a woman who was about to be crushed by a slab that fell from the ceiling! She dropped the woman to the side and dashed forward to grab another man who was stumbling his way out of the building with a walking stick. He was missing a leg, so Tilda just threw him over her shoulder and shot out of the building before dropping him on the other side of the street. The man mumbled a slurred ‘thanks’ before he hurried to get away!
Rumble! Rumble!
Another great vibration echoed through the area, and the floor beneath their feet started to crack as long lines traveled through the road! The crack widened, and Tilda started to realize with growing horror that this wasn’t just an earthquake. Something was coming. Something big!
“There’s something coming out from the ground!”
A large hand burst its way out from underground, and Tilda couldn’t help but stare with wide, terrified eyes as she watched the largest anima she had ever seen in her life crawl its way out from underground. The anima was as tall as a high-rise building. It had two heads, fitted on top of a fat, bulbous body that made it look like a fat troll. The beast grunted once it was free from its underground prison. And then it roared into the sky.
ROARRRRRRRR!!
Tilda took two steps back and then she turned and ran. There was nothing that Tilda could do against a monster like that. Tilda knew her limitations, she knew what she could and couldn’t do, and she was not going to risk her life to fight against a monster that she knew she would never be able to defeat.
“I need to get reinforcements here. That is an Eldritch! I can’t fight against something like that!”
All around the monster, smaller anima with the same appearance as the large one began to crawl their way out from underground. The smaller monsters were Disaster and Calamity class monsters, but they could not even compare to the sheer size and strength of the Eldritch! The citizens screamed in horror as the monsters began to chase after them, and Tilda grit her teeth as she increased her speed even more! She knew that her running away would end up leading to the deaths of hundreds, but there was nothing she could do against that monster! She had to call for reinforcements!
“I have to call GHOST!”
…
Over on the upper side of City B, far away from the slums, a woman who worked as a waitress in a bar was sitting on the roof of the building, taking a break and admiring the clouds passing by above. She was trying to relax before she had to go back and continue her shift, but she never got the chance as a massive tremor suddenly shook the entire land, throwing her off her chair and onto the ground! She grabbed hold of the edge of the roof as she felt the entire building start to lean to one side, and her eyes widened as she looked out into the city!
Everything was shaking!
Rumble! Rumble!
The floor cracked, and buildings began to topple over from the force of the tremors. People were screaming at the top of their lungs while trying to get away, and the woman had to hold on tighter as another massive tremor suddenly shook the entire building.
She had to get out of there. If she stayed up there, then she would get crushed when the building fell!
The woman started to try and move to the exit where she would go down from, but before she could even take three steps, the building came down from another tremor and threw her to the floor below!
She screamed and put her hands over her head to try and protect herself. Thankfully, nothing large fell on her to crush her. When she opened her eyes again, she saw that the entire city was in ruins! People were crying and shouting, and there were flames raging and burning amidst the fallen buildings. From the center of City B, a massive crack echoed through the city. The crack got larger and larger, and before long, it exploded out and unleashed a horde of anima that had been underground!
“An anima! There are anima coming from underground!”
“Help! Somebody -!!”

“AHHH!!”
The woman immediately tried to limp to her feet. There was a deep wound on her left leg that prevented her from moving properly, but with some effort, she was finally able to get up.
[This is a general announcement to all residents of City B. Multiple Calamity Class anima have been sighted in and around the vicinity of the city. All residents are advised to find the nearest bunker for their safety. I repeat: all citizens are advised to find the nearest bunker or leave the city for their safety!]
DOOM!
A large hand suddenly landed in front of her, and the woman felt her entire body seize up immediately! A deep growl echoed from somewhere above her, and she looked up slowly to see a giant lizard head salivating while staring down at her with red-slitted eyes. She opened her mouth to scream, and the monster lashed out and grabbed her!
…
All over the country, this scene was playing out in multiple cities! People were being killed and decimated by the anima that had appeared all of a sudden. The complete lack of warning before the attack began, as well as the sheer number of monsters currently coming out from underground, prevented anyone from being able to control the attacks.
Some cities, like City S, were able to send out multiple superhumans all at once since that was the headquarters of the Superhumans Alliance, while other cities that did not have a large superhuman population had to settle for trying to rescue civilians while avoiding and running away from the monsters that appeared. It was an absolute disaster.
The anima had appeared early in the afternoon of that day, and by the time nighttime rolled around, more than twenty percent of America had been destroyed. There wasn’t a single Elder Eldritch or Armageddon class anima in the first wave of monsters. There were only Lower Eldritch, Disaster class, and Calamity class monsters, and yet, the superhumans were just not able to handle it. Alec Ben was the only SOVEREIGN still available right now, and no matter how fast or strong he was, there was no way he could be at every single location at the same time.
Alec slashed his hand through a monster’s neck and tore its head away from its body before zooming towards another monster and repeating the process. He stabbed a hand through the skull of a large frog-based anima and then pulled out a sword made from anima bone that he held in a reverse grip before flashing through the entire region, tearing through the anima all around him and killing more than fifty anima in minutes!
Alec finally stopped, flicked his sword to the side, and frowned. Even after killing this many, Alec could still hear the screams of the civilians echoing through the city. It wasn’t enough. Alec left the Superhumans Alliance building once he heard that there were anima appearing around the city, and he began killing hundreds of them. It was easy to deal with them since they were only Calamity and Disaster classes, but their sheer number was the issue.
‘And this is only here in City S. Where the hell did these things even come from?’
