Chapter 476: Luna and Arit – The Prologue
Blood dripped from Arit’s hands as she glared down at the large bear anima that had tried to attack her. There was a frown on her face that showed just how angered she was by everything happening, but beneath that anger was an unbearable sadness. Luna felt like Arit was trying to use the anger to block the pain in her chest from overwhelming her.

“You.”

Arit’s eyes glared at Luna as she stepped into the clearing. If Luna was stunned by Arit’s current appearance, she didn’t show it. Arit turned around to face Luna and her glare intensified.

“How dare you show your face in front of me? How dare you show your face after everything you did!? You must’ve thought I was a fool, right? You said you didn’t love the KING, and I was so stupid to believe that. And now – now… how dare you show your face in front of me, you bitch?”

Arit’s mouth twisted into a sneer as she flicked her hand to the side, sending blood spraying to the ground in droplets. Luna spoke calmly.

“Did you kill these people?”

“What? Are you mad? Who cares about these people!? The KING is gone! Gone! And look what they did to our home! We used to live here once! This was where everything began for us, and they destroyed it! It’s all gone!”

The spot where Arit was standing was the area where her father had gotten an apartment for her and Mark before, but the tremors and anima emerging from underground had demolished the apartment. After Arit came here, she immediately attacked everything in sight and after the fight against the anima she met here, the building had been reduced to nothing but a large crater in the middle of the road.

When Luna heard that Arit was on the run, she immediately knew there was only one place in the city that Arit could have possibly gone to, and that was this apartment. Luna heard from her secretary that Arit and Mark stayed in this apartment for nearly a year together, so she was sure that it held a lot of memories for them.

Arit continued talking, glaring at everything around her.

“I can’t believe they came for me using my own father! My own father sold me out like I was a monster! And now the KING is no longer here! How can you claim to love Mark while caring about these monsters!? How dare you talk to me about these fools when Mark could be dead!?”

“Loving Mark and caring about people are two different things. And don’t you dare say Mark is dead. Don’t you dare say that.”

“What!? I shouldn’t say Mark could be dead!? Isn’t that what your stupid government wanted all this time!? They wanted him gone, and now he is! Mark has saved their lives more times than they could ever repay him for, and they treated him like a common criminal!? This is all your fault! You and your fucking government!”

“Mark is not dead. He is going to come back. He always comes back.”

“And what if he doesn’t!? What if he fell into a trap and he can’t come back!?”

“He will always come back!”

Luna shouted at Arit in anger, and Arit glared right back at Luna as she felt her own anger surge up in waves. There was a serious look on Luna’s face as she tried to convince Arit that Mark would return, but Arit could tell that Luna was also trying to convince herself. Luna wanted to believe that Mark would return, so nothing Arit said would change her mind.

Arit clicked her tongue and looked away, squeezing her hands into fists.

“Well, they had better pray that Mark returns. Because if my KING does not come back, I will kill. And kill. And kill. I will take this world to the brink of extinction so that they might feel even a shred of the pain that I feel right now! I will erase this country from the map and do anything to make sure everyone feels my pain!”

WOOSH!

Suddenly, a large blast of water shot out from the air and flew toward Arit! Arit’s eyes immediately sharpened as she easily dodged around it using her fast reflexes! Arit took to the sky, and Luna threw off her outer jacket to leave herself in a singlet and jeans as she grabbed moisture from the air and prepared for Arit’s charge!

BOOM!

Arit flew down toward Luna like a bullet, and Luna quickly created a wall of water in front of her to block the charge!

SLAM!

Arit slammed her hand into the construct, destroying it and making it crumble to nothing as she tried to grab ahold of Luna. But Luna immediately created a chain of ice that she used to grab Arit’s ankle and swung her into the air before bringing her down hard!

BOOM!

“You foolish…”

BOOM!

“Foolish…”

BOOM!

“Little girl!!”

SLAM!

Luna swung Arit around, slamming her into walls and the ground over and over again in anger! Luna couldn’t believe Arit would say something so stupid! Does Arit really think that killing people was the best option? That was only going to end up pissing Mark off! There is no way Mark would be okay with her killing this many people!

Luna growled in her throat as she finally threw Arit off the chain and allowed her to fly into the distance!

Boom!

Arit slammed into the ground hard and dug a deep trench for more than fifty meters. Luna charged at Arit and grabbed ahold of her before she could go too far! She wrapped a hand around Arit’s throat and pulled back her fist!

“Do you think Mark would want you to do that!?”

Slam! Slam! Slam!

Luna unleashed three heavy hits on Arit’s face and raised her fist to hit Arit again, but Luna did not expect Arit to suddenly grab her by the shirt and pull her down for a massive headbutt that rattled her brain!

BAM!

“Gah!”

Although Luna was an ELITE Rank I, she did not have high physical stats. Most of her power was mainly focused on her mana and stamina. So even though Arit was only an S rank, Arit’s Strength and Durability surpassed Luna’s. So in a straight hand-to-hand fight, Arit was stronger!

Luna’s head shot back from the blow to her skull, and Arit screamed right back at her while blasting off the ground to take them both high into the sky!

“How would you know what Mark wants!? You don’t know anything about him! Don’t try to act like you know him more than me!”

Arit roared as she spun around and tossed Luna to the ground! Luna quickly grabbed ahold of the moisture in the air and reduced the density of the air to cushion her impact! She immediately slowed down and landed on her feet as the lighter air started to move up and managed to ease her fall. She growled up at Arit in anger.

“I may not have known him for as long as you, but I know enough about him! He and I have been through hell and back together! And if you think he would be okay with you killing this many people, then you’re the fool! You claim to love Mark, but what you feel for him now is nothing but possessiveness! A stupid possessiveness that manifests itself as blind violence! You’re just a cancer that stuck itself on him and refuses to let go! A blight!”
