Chapter 478: Maybe If We Did It Together?
Arit thanked Luna for what she was doing, and Luna just said it was fine. She wasn’t doing it for Arit anyway, so Arit didn’t need to feel like she owed Luna anything. Arit went silent again as she finally finished cleaning the blood on her forehead.
“So, you’re in love with Mark?”
After a while, Arit suddenly spoke up, and Luna just nodded without shame.
“I am. I’ve always been in love with him.”
“You should have told me when I asked before at the festival. Why did you lie to me?”
“It… was complicated. You can’t really say something like that to the girlfriend of the guy you love. I was going to mention it to you, but I chickened out at the last minute.”
Arit shrugged in understanding. There was really nothing she could say to that. Arit had truly thought of Luna as a friend when they were on that island, and she hoped they would be able to get closer. But now, Arit didn’t know if Luna was really her friend or if she only got close to her because of Mark.
Finally, after some time, Luna spoke.
“I’m sorry I didn’t say anything.”
“I don’t forgive you yet, but I’ll try. I’m sorry I called you a harlot.”
Luna turned to Arit in surprise.
“You didn’t call me that.”
Arit raised a brow at that before she nodded, realizing something.
“I only called you that in my head. I’m sorry about that.”
Luna scoffed before both of them chuckled lightly in amusement. Luna was happy that Arit didn’t seem too angry at her. At least they could still have conversations, and that was a lot more than Luna had been hoping for. Luna knew their relationship was very strained right now, but she decided to put all her cards on the table. If Arit knew everything, then it would be easier for Arit to decide whether or not it was okay for Luna to pursue Mark.
“Did… Did Mark tell you about what I told him? My offer?”
Arit frowned in confusion while trying to think of any offer. She finally cleaned the last bit of blood that had stained her hair and shook her head, telling Luna that Mark didn’t mention anything like that.
Luna took in a deep breath and brought her knees up so she could hold them with both hands. And then she dropped a bombshell on Arit.
“If you’re okay with it, I-I won’t mind being the second wife. You already know I love Mark, and I don’t want to go on without him, so this is me trying to bring a solution that would work for all of us. I won’t try to take your place in his heart or anything like that, and if you both refuse, then I won’t try to force you into it. But, if you’re willing to let me, I want to share Mark with you.”
Arit was absolutely stunned.
“What the fuck?”
‘Don’t listen to her! She is lying! She is going to try and take him from us!’
Shut up!
Arit quickly told the Queen to be silent and sighed as it went quiet in her head again. Arit couldn’t believe the words that just came out of Luna’s mouth. Mark never said something like that to her, and Arit wondered if Mark didn’t say anything because he didn’t want her to know. Or maybe he was also thinking about it, and he only wanted to bring it up after he was done thinking about it.
‘A second wife? Is that really possible?’
Surprisingly, Arit couldn’t feel the irritation she thought she would feel when that topic was brought up. Even the Queen’s anger was not as intense as Arit thought it would be. The Queen was worried about Luna stealing Mark from them, not about sharing him. All this time, Arit had only been trying to make sure Mark was not taken away from her, she had never really thought about having another woman with them.
‘She is lying. I am sure she will try to take the KING from us! She already lied about loving him, it would not be difficult for her to lie again!’
The Queen didn’t shout about killing Luna like it normally would because the Queen knew that it couldn’t defeat Luna in a one-on-one battle. Instead, it was arguing about Luna’s intentions. Luna had already lied to them once about her intentions with Mark, so Arit found it difficult to trust Luna’s word.
Luna watched Arit closely to see how she reacted to her offer, and Luna could tell that Arit was not completely okay with it. There was confusion and even a little bit of anger in Arit’s expression, and Arit was glaring at the ground intensely. Luna thought that Arit would tell her there was no chance for something like this ever happening. As much as Luna didn’t like it, Luna knew that Arit’s choice here was the only thing that really mattered. Mark already told Luna that he would not do anything to hurt Arit, but Mark never said that he was against the idea. That meant that once Arit agreed, it would be easy to convince Mark as well. She just had to get Arit to see the benefits of having her in the relationship.
“I promise I’ll try my best to make it work out. I’m not going to steal Mark from you, and the moment you think I’m doing that, then you can just send me away, I won’t argue. Mark already told me that he wouldn’t do anything to hurt you, so you’re the one with all the cards. I want to be with Mark, and I’ll do anything to get that. Just name it. Anything at all.”

Luna spoke up again pleadingly, and Arit’s frown deepened, but Arit still didn’t look at her. The mere fact that Arit was not saying anything right now gave Luna a boost of hope. Arit wasn’t outright refusing the idea, so Luna was sure that there was a chance, no matter how small.
But then, Luna was shocked when Arit’s eyes widened, and her face slowly started to turn red. Arit put a hand to her cheek, and Luna wondered what was going on with her.
“What is it?”
Luna asked in confusion, and Arit shook her head while trying to look serious, but the blush on her face prevented that from happening as it just made her look cute. Arit turned to Luna, and at that moment, it almost felt like they were back on that porch in City F, talking about Mark and laughing together.
“It’s nothing.”
Arit was hesitant to talk about what made her blush, but Luna was persistent and asked her again. Luna leaned closer and used her shoulder to bump Arit’s shoulder playfully.
“Come on, tell me. I won’t laugh, I promise.”
Arit hesitated for a few more seconds, and then she whispered something that made even the stoic Luna blush.
“W-Well, I… It’s hard for me to handle Mark in bed alone.”
Luna’s cheeks blew up red as she put her hand to her face to try and hide her embarrassment. Images of Mark doing something lewd to Arit to such an extent that she would complain made Luna’s entire body heat up. Luna knew that Arit had a higher physical endurance than her. Luna might be the stronger superhuman overall, but Arit had higher strength stats. So if Arit couldn’t handle Mark, then there was no way Luna would be able to do it either!
‘He would break me.’
Luna shook her head to try and get rid of that thought, and she spoke up with a small grin.
“W-Well, if neither of us can handle it, then maybe if we both do it together…?”
