Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 499
Chapter 499: I Am Your Enemy
Mark knew that using his constitution too early would make him lose his advantage in this fight, so he had been saving the negation ability all this while, allowing Gunter to think his flames would always hit him. But now that Mark knew Gunter was already running low on mana and they were no longer in the forest that would allow Gunter to grab mana from the trees, Mark figured this was the right time to use the constitution. And Mark was fucking right!
[Divergent Fist]!!
The shock of his flames being extinguished so easily prevented Gunter from moving out of the way fast enough to avoid the divergent fist, and by the time he noticed the fist flying toward him, it was already too late!
BOOM!
Mark’s fist slammed into Gunter’s face and threw him back into the mountain behind him!
BOOM!
Gunter slammed into the mountainside, and Mark didn’t relent as he immediately flashed towards Gunter and began to unleash a flurry of punches that rocked the entire landscape!
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
[Critical Hit]!
BOOM!
[Critical Hit]!
BOOM!
“Where is she!?”
BOOM!
“Where is she!?”
BOOM!
“Where the fuck did you take Fiona, you bastard!”
BOOM!
BOOM!
[Divergent Fist]!!
KA-BOOM!
The entire mountain rumbled constantly from the intense impacts! Mark had already managed to dig Gunter deep into the mountainside with his punches! Mark finally allowed all the anger he had been feeling about Fiona’s disappearance to pour out, and he unloaded it on Gunter, slamming him with more intensity every time!
Gunter’s face was broken and bloody, and from the way his head dropped to the side bonelessly after Mark’s final punch, it was obvious he had passed out!
Mark grabbed Gunter by the shirt and slammed his back into the mountain before reaching back!
SLAP!
The slap Mark gave Gunter was so intense that it echoed throughout the entire ALTERWORLD like a sonic blast, bringing Gunter back from the world of unconsciousness immediately!
“GASP!”
Gunter gasped like a drowning man as he jolted back to reality! He tried to see through swollen eyes, but he was not able to see a thing. The only thing he could make out was the silhouette of Mark looming over him. Gunter reached for his mana, but before he could even form it into flames, Mark used the negation ability to kill it!

Gunter felt a flicker of fear in his heart when this happened for the second time! The first time, Gunter thought it was just some sort of fluke—maybe something was wrong with his mana, or maybe he was out of mana. But now that it had happened more than once, Gunter knew it was no fluke! Mark had the ability to cancel out his fire!
‘What the fuck is this boy!? Just how many abilities does he possess?’
Mark pulled Gunter forward so they were face-to-face, and he growled in Gunter’s face.
“Where is she? Where is Fiona?”
A choked laugh came out of Gunter’s mouth as he tried to push Mark away from him.
“You’re wasting your time looking for that one. She’s already been turned. We needed a replacement after failing to get one of those two, and it turned out that Fiona was the perfect replacement.”
Mark didn’t need to be told which two Gunter was talking about. After they failed to capture Arit or Talia, they used Fiona for what they wanted to use them for. Mark felt a surge of anger rising from inside his body as his heart rate picked up. That means Fiona is no longer human anymore. They’ve already turned her into an anima!?
Gunter could literally feel Mark’s anger rising, and Gunter chuckled as he slowly began to gather mana as well. If Gunter was going down here, then he was going to take Mark with him. No matter how well Mark could nullify his magic, there was no way he could handle all his mana coming out at the same time! Gunter was going to commit a kamikaze and erase them both from this world!
But before Gunter could release his mana like he wanted, Mark pulled his fist back.
[The user has sent mana to his hands!]
[Warning: The user has sent an excess of mana to his hands. The system advises the user to find an exit for this mana to prevent internal damage.]
[Divergent Fist]!!
[Sonic Impact]!!
BOOOOOOOOMMMM!
…
On the other side of the ALTERWORLD, Kevin stopped moving as he felt the entire world shaking and vibrating from a massive explosion! He raised his hand and told the anima around him to also stop moving. There were only about twenty anima left after Mark’s assault at the volcano, and they were all surrounding Kevin protectively. The ground under his feet was rumbling, and Kevin immediately knew there was only one person who could do something like this!
“KING. Don’t tell me he unleashed something like this on Gunter. That fucking idiot! I told him to follow the plan, but the idiot couldn’t think of anything except fighting alone! Did he really think he could handle the KING on his own!? I don’t think Mark would be able to kill Gunter that easily, but I have to go there and make sure he isn’t killed. If Gunter dies, my plans would fall apart!”
Kevin was already entering the forest where he saw Gunter and Mark going, and he put his hand out and sent his snake Orochimaru ahead of him to make sure he didn’t get blindsided by Mark in the dense forest.
There was smoke rising from the large forest fire that had been spread by Gunter, but Kevin didn’t pay it any mind since it was no longer burning as intensely as before. The fire was already dying out, so there were only embers and smoke left behind. Kevin eyed the surrounding trees calmly as he spread his senses out to try and find where Mark was. There hadn’t been any sound in the surrounding forest for a while now, and it was making Kevin a little worried.
“Don’t stray far.”
Kevin called out to Orochimaru to tell it not to go too far, and Orochimaru hissed as it accepted the order and slowly came back to coil around Kevin. Kevin kept his eyes peeled for anything strange in the area, and he gave an order to the anima surrounding him, telling them to spread into the forest and search for Mark.
Step! Step! Step!
The anima never got a chance to move as a massive pressure fell upon them. Footsteps echoed from in front of Kevin, and Kevin immediately called at the anima to gather beside him as he eyed the dense forest warily. Mark stepped out from the smoking forest, dragging Gunter’s corpse by his hair.
“You’ve hunted me. Attacked me. And trapped me in this place. All for what? So you can cause more death and destruction? So you can kill more people? You’re just a child prattling about changing the world without any substance. But that’s good, because it will make what I am about to do far easier. I was never your enemy, Salazar. I just did what I had to do to protect those I loved. But now… now that you’ve pushed me this far, you finally got your wish.”
“I am your enemy.”
