Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 502
Chapter 502: Am I Alive?
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!”
Kevin stumbled his way through the far end of the forest, trying to get as far away from Mark as possible. He was clutching the stump that had once been his right hand tightly, and blood was dripping from the large gash on his leg, trailing on the forest floor behind him.
Kevin didn’t even know how he got these injuries. Everything about Mark was just so confusing.
‘What was Mark using to latch onto people? And what the hell did he send after me?’
When Kevin was running, he had already gotten more than a kilometer out of Mark’s range and he thought he’d be able to make it to another side of the ALTERWORLD, so Mark wouldn’t find him. But before he knew it, something was flying toward him faster than he could track with his eyes.
The only reason Kevin was still alive right now was his natural instincts warning him of the danger. He’d managed to move his body just enough so the attack didn’t hit him directly, but he wasn’t fast enough to prevent it from taking his arm and cutting deep into his leg. His mana was struggling to stop the bleeding in his leg, but Kevin knew there was nothing he could do about his hand. It was fucking gone!
Kevin had to get out of the ALTERWORLD right now before things got any worse.
“Sasha, you fucking bitch! Get me out of here, now!”
Kevin shouted in anger, trying again to reach Sasha, but once more, he was disappointed when there was no response from her. It was obvious she wasn’t paying any attention to what was happening in her ALTERWORLD right now.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
The sound of loud impacts reached Kevin from behind, and his heart rate spiked immediately. He sent out his mana, trying to sense Orochimaru’s presence, but there was nothing.
‘Did Mark already kill it?’
Orochimaru was an Eldritch-class monster, and Mark was able to kill it that easily!?
Boom!
Boom!
Kevin looked behind him as the sound grew louder and quickly moved behind a large tree trunk. He was breathing heavily, and the blood dripping from the stump of his right hand started flowing even more as his rising heart rate increased his blood pressure. His whole body felt weak, and he could feel his mana draining as it fought to keep him alive.
In the midst of all this, Kevin didn’t know why he just began to laugh.
“Hahahaha… I really fucked up with this one, didn’t I?”
Kevin’s plans had been perfect. Everything had been set in place, and he was certain that by the end of the day, KING would be dead. His plans had been in motion for a long time. First, Kevin knew it would be hard to carry out his plan if KING was still in the real world. Mark was like a magnet for anima, and from what Kevin knew, Mark grew stronger the longer he fought against them. So there was a good chance that Mark would draw all the anima towards him and fight them off with other superhumans, which would make things harder. So Kevin decided it would be better to trap Mark in here with him and Gunter, finishing Mark off.
Revealing Arit’s crimes was just something Kevin did because he wanted to fuck with Mark a little more when he was on the verge of losing. Kevin had planned to tell Mark about exposing Arit’s crimes when Mark was close to death’s door, ensuring that Mark’s rage would cause him to lose rationality, making it easier for Kevin and Gunter to finish him off.
But Kevin made one mistake in all of this. He didn’t consider the kind of people he was working with. The clash of egos between the various superhumans was what really fucked up his plans—Gunter’s pride and Sasha’s nonchalance. If not for those two fools, wouldn’t things have worked out better?
‘But I also fucked up. I should have listened to the Syndicate when they said it wasn’t time yet. I was too hasty. Should I just end this life and start again? I can begin a new life, even though this one is over. It’ll take a bit longer to set things in motion again but it’s better than trying to defeat Mark the way I am now.’
Kevin tore off a piece of his cloth and started to tie it around the stump. He couldn’t put all the blame on Gunter and Sasha without taking some of it himself. The Syndicate had warned Kevin against moving forward with this plan so soon because they believed it would fail, but they weren’t seeing what Kevin was seeing. Mark was growing too fast. Just a few months ago, Mark had been a simple S-rank who couldn’t even handle a high-level calamity on his own. Now, he was higher than Epic Rank. Kevin wouldn’t be surprised if Mark was already at Epic Rank II.
‘At this rate, by the time the syndicate is ready to start the actual plan, Mark will be a god. Mere mortals can’t fight against something like that. I need to start over. I just began this life, but I can’t use it anymore with my body like this. Even if I’m born in a random body somewhere else in the world, it’s better than letting it end like this.’
“There you are.”
Kevin’s eyes shot open immediately upon hearing that voice. He looked up to see Mark staring down at him with a dangerous, empty gaze that sent shivers down his spine. Mark used his forearm to clean the line of black blood still on his chin from killing Orochimaru before reaching down and grabbing Kevin by the hair!
Kevin squeezed his eyes shut in pain as Mark lifted him off the ground. Kevin was about to say something, but his words died in his throat as Mark suddenly let him go while pulling back his fist!
Death!

Even in his broken and bloody state, Kevin could still recognize the undeniable danger Mark held in his fist. But unlike Gunter, who could avoid it, Kevin couldn’t do anything as Mark’s fist blurred forward!
[Lightning Surge]!
[Critical Hit]!!
BOOM!!
It was like a supernova of pain shooting through every nerve in his body! Mark’s fist slammed into Kevin’s stomach, and the lightening made every cell in Kevin’s body scream! Kevin slammed into the tree behind him before falling to his knees and retching everything in his stomach onto the ground.
‘Am I alive? Is this what dying feels like? I can’t feel anything.’
The sheer intensity of the pain caused Kevin’s brain to shut off his pain receptors, and his entire body felt numb. He felt like he was suspended in the space between life and death, wondering if he was still alive.
A hand grabbed Kevin by the hair again, and Mark dragged him away from the tree. Kevin expected Mark to kill him, and at this point, Kevin was more than ready for death. It would be far more bearable to die and start again than to suffer another punch. But instead, Mark turned to the heavens and shouted.
“LOKI, YOU FUCKING BITCH!”
Kevin, Sozin, and all the gods watching Mark’s fight paused in shock.
What the hell?
