Chapter 520: Walking Across A Desolate Land
Luna could understand Arit’s pain. It was the same pain Luna was feeling, but Luna also knew she couldn’t break down and cry like Arit. Not when they still had a lot to do. Someone had to be strong, and Luna decided she would be that person.
Ratatatatatatatat!
The sound of a helicopter arriving at the clearing echoed through the area, and Alpha Six put her phone back in her pocket. Alpha Six turned and spared the small group a glance before she started walking toward where the helicopter would land.
Thomas saw the symbol of the Superhuman Alliance on the side of the helicopter and told Luna that it might be better for them to go with this helicopter as well. It would take too long for the Moonlight Guild to send a helicopter around, so it would be better if they followed this one with Alpha Six.
Luna nodded and then turned to Arit.
“Come on, Arit. We have to go.”
Arit turned her head to the side and looked at the dead body of Sasha with deep anger rising inside her!
“What’s the fucking point!? What’s the point if Mark isn’t there!?”
Arit looked up at Luna angrily while shouting, and Luna’s eyes watered for a moment as the reality of the situation began to weaken her resolve. Luna quickly turned away from Arit so that Arit wouldn’t see her crying, and Arit felt her face squeeze sadly as she realized she was taking her anger out on the wrong person. Arit looked down and grit her teeth to try and calm the anger inside her. Finally, after a few seconds, she started to get up. Arit wobbled on her feet, and Luna steadied her.
Arit nodded at Luna in thanks, and Luna smiled before she let her go and started to clean the tears at the edge of her eyes as the both of them walked to the helicopter with Thomas following behind them.
Alpha Six was already getting into the helicopter, and her right hand was covering the large red bruise that formed where Luna had slapped her. Alpha Six was tempted to just tell the pilot to go without waiting for them, but one look at Luna’s glare and Alpha Six knew better. If she tried something like that, she might never make it to City S at all. Alpha Six just leaned back in irritation and waited patiently until they also boarded the helicopter, and then the pilot took off.

[The ALTERWORLD – A Few Minutes Before Sasha’s Death]
“How the fuck do I get out of here?”
Mark looked around the ALTERWORLD curiously and wondered about how he would leave. There were no signs around telling him which way was out or in, and no matter how far Mark looked into the distance, all he could see was more and more land stretching into the horizon.
Mark narrowed his eyes as he turned to Kevin and thought about asking him how to get out of there, but Mark eventually shook his head and decided it would be pointless. If Kevin could find a way out of here, then he would have already used it earlier to escape. There was no way anyone would receive the kind of punishment Kevin received and stay in the same place as their attacker if they had a way to escape.
Mark sighed as he continued looking around while absentmindedly splitting his focus to his system and all the points he got from defeating Salazar and Gunter. Since Mark had no idea what he would face once he got out of here, he decided to allocate most of his points now in order to be prepared for anything. Fifteen thousand points in both Stat and Skill free points was a lot, and Mark knew that the first thing he needed to do was to improve his strength and mana.
Don’t get him wrong, Mark was still interested in making sure that all his other stats improved as much as possible, but Mark knew that he needed as much mana as possible to use the skills he got from all the rewards, and he needed strength to be able to handle even stronger monsters. It was basic reasoning, but Mark knew it was the best way to do things right now.
[Does the user wish to send stat points to the selected stats? Yes/No]
Mark selected yes while grabbing hold of the Fangs that Link the Heavens and pulling Kevin behind him as he walked through the landscape calmly. Mark heard a growl from somewhere beside him, and he turned in that direction to see that it was one of the anima that had run away when he activated his [Demonic Killer’s Aura] earlier. Mark glared at it in annoyance, and the monster immediately turned and walked away without even daring to attack.
Mark continued walking.

Mark brought his hand out, and this time, instead of only one-third of a key, a complete key appeared in his hand. The key was made from some sort of stony material like it was carved straight out of a rock. There were green mosses growing out from cracks in different parts of the key, and when Mark turned it over, the key shimmered with various lights like something ethereal.
“I wonder where this will take me.”
Mark was curious about the key, and a part of him wanted to just go ahead and use it now, but Mark knew that this wasn’t the time. Just like always, Mark had three days to use the key before it would either drag him into the test or vanish, and Mark decided that he was going to finish off everything here first before even thinking about heading into another test. Mark willed the key away, and the key vanished before another prompt appeared on his screen.
