Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 529
Chapter 529: The Last Stand
Luna’s experience as one of the most seasoned guild masters in America proved to be very useful as her authoritarian side came to life and urged the superhumans around her into action! It was the members of her guild that made the first move, charging forward with a fervor that bordered on insanity, and after some time, Alec Ben put his hand up to his ear and told the members of the Superhuman alliance to move forward as well.
Alec was not certain about putting his trust in GHOST, but after all their attacks failed, it was the best shot they had right now.
Luna looked toward Arit and raised her hand so Arit could carry her forward.
Luna and the others who could help out against the Armageddon needed to do what they could so that Mark wouldn’t be overwhelmed.
Arit nodded in understanding once Luna explained her reasoning, and she also decided that she would help out in keeping the anima away. Arit knew that there wasn’t much she could do against that Armageddon, so she would only be getting in their way if she rushed in to help. And regardless of how desperately she wanted to talk to Mark right now, it wasn’t the right time.
Arit grabbed Luna’s hand and lifted her into the air as they joined the raging crowd of superhumans that were running toward the anima like bats out of hell! The sun was already beginning to break through the horizon, so the entire city was washed in an orange glow, casting long shadows across the landscape.
It was like a scene straight out of a war movie. A large crowd of humans charging toward their enemies for one last attack to try and save their country. The humans were outnumbered at least three to one since many of the superhumans were either injured or busy in other cities, but for some reason, they were not scared.
Was it because of the Golden Light that they saw around GHOST before?
Was it because of their own desperate need to survive?
They didn’t know. All they knew was that they were not going to back down!
The anima realized the danger they were in as the large crowd of superhumans started to race for them, and some of them broke off from the building as they faced their mortal enemies. And before long, the two forces clashed!
…
Up on the building, Mark stared at the Armageddon-class anima standing about five hundred meters away from him.
The anima opened its cavernous mouth as it released a low growl into the air, but Mark allowed his eyes to trail toward the crystal in the middle of its head. That was where it shot that laser from. Mark narrowed his eyes as he something shift inside the crystal, but the crystal was completely opaque, and he couldn’t guess what that was, so Mark ignored it.
Mark had to be careful not to allow the anima to fire a point-blank shot with that. Mark could feel the power it held from its previous shot, even though the Aegis was active. Getting hit without any protection would lead to some serious injuries.
There were some broken buildings littering the area around them, and the anima reached out and grabbed hold of one of the taller skyscrapers as it took a step toward Mark. The anima was slightly hunched over, like it was struggling to move under its own weight, and it had to crouch over like a monkey. When it moved, Mark realized with some irritation just how small he was compared to the thing. With how tall it was, Mark was like an ant standing in front of it.
‘How the hell can I take this thing down? It’s too tall. Maybe I should aim at its legs and focus on bringing it to its knees. With how it’s walking, it might find it difficult to get back up, and I can attack it. But I also need to watch out for these mana blasts—’
ROARRR!
SCREECH!!
ROARRR!
Mark’s thoughts were interrupted as he heard loud roars echoing from above him. The flying anima had finally gained enough courage to charge toward Mark once more, and they were all free-falling toward him like bullets, but the German soldiers that had been in the air with Mark finally broke through, and Ida’s face split into a grin as she activated her blessing.
Ida’s ability allowed her to control the amount of gravity in a set radius around her. Anything she touched or stepped on would also be affected by her blessing. Once she activated the blessing, more than twenty anima were immediately plummeted down at sonic speed! They crashed through buildings before slamming into the ground and being crushed under the intensity of her blessing!
The only downside to Ida’s blessing was that she could only control gravity at a set-point radius around her. No matter what she did, she couldn’t increase the radius of effect of her blessing; all she could do was increase or reduce the intensity of gravity in that radius, as well as anything she touched.
The other German soldiers also handled multiple flying anima on their way down! All the German soldiers that came with Ida were S-rank, with another one of them even being Elite rank I.
Germany was a country that enforced military rule on their citizens and ensured that every single superhuman would enter the military immediately after they discovered their blessing. This allowed the superhumans to focus only on training and nothing else, giving them more time to learn how to use their blessing and improve it to almost absurd levels in a very short time. There was a rumor going around that even the weakest superhuman in Germany was already a B-rank superhuman, and before long, Germany would have nothing but A-ranks and above. It was a scary thought for the rest of the world.
Ida landed on the roof beside GHOST, and before Mark could even say anything to her, she was already running toward the Armageddon with a wide smile on her face!
ROARRR!
The Armageddon roared at her in anger and swung its hand toward Ida, but Ida immediately activated her blessing and reduced the gravity in the area to a tenth of what it was! The Armageddon’s hand was suddenly pulled upward against its will, and it swung wide above Ida! Ida jumped through the air, aimed her feet properly, and increased her gravity tenfold before sending a massive kick into the monster’s head!
BOOM!
The monster’s face turned to the right from the intense hit, and Ida cracked a wider smile, but she stopped smiling as the beast turned its head back toward her, and its crystal started to glow!

That attack didn’t even hurt it!
Ida increased gravity again and shot herself down to the ground, and the blast from the monster ended up missing her as it shot into the horizon and unleashed a massive explosion on the city!
KA-BOOM!
The explosion lit up the fight scene, and this allowed the monster to look down and easily spot Ida below it. It raised its feet to step on her, but the monster failed to see that focusing on Ida made it lose sight of Mark. And Mark was never one to allow an opportunity like this to pass him by!
[Critical Hit!]
[Sonic Impact!!]
