Chapter 533: Are You F*cking With Me?
Alpha Two suddenly gained a little bit of extra courage, and he roared in agitation as he ran over the top of a building and jumped straight towards the monster’s nape with his sword raised and ready to stab straight into it!
But before Alpha Two could even get halfway to the monster, the Armageddon turned its head towards him, and its crystal started to glow! Alpha Two cursed as he raised his hands to protect himself uselessly! Even with all the adrenaline anima blood pumping through him, Alpha Two knew that if the laser hit him, he would die!
KA-TOOM!
A chain wrapped around Alpha Two’s waist and dragged him out of the way as the laser flew past him and into the sky! Alpha Two felt such relief and shock at the sudden movement that he didn’t even mind the rough landing as he slammed into a building a couple hundred meters away from the battle. He got to his knees and swallowed in relief as he noticed that he hadn’t died just yet. A pair of legs stepped forward from beside Alpha Two, and he looked up to see Mark staring at the monster with narrowed eyes. Was Mark the one that saved him? How? Was it the same thing he used to move out of the way of the monster’s attacks before? Alpha Two had no idea how Mark saved him, and honestly, he didn’t care. He was just grateful to still be alive.
Mark was watching the giant monster closely, making sure no one attacking was in any danger while listening as Pat told him about the best place to draw the monster to. Once Mark heard what Pat said, there was only one thing that Mark could respond with.
“Are you fucking with me right now?”
There was an irritated frown on Mark’s face, and Pat knew that if he was in front of Mark, Mark would have smacked him on the back of the head for what he said. But Pat knew that this was the best option they had.
[You have to take the monster to City H. The three cities beside it are insurance hot spots. They’ll suffer a lot if you go there, and almost every second city after that is a major construction hub. City H is in the perfect location to not disrupt any of the other cities and the path to get there is also free, so there’ll be minimal losses even if the monster goes on a rampage.]
Mark sighed in irritation and brought a hand to his head, rubbing it against his temple. Alpha Two had already gotten to his feet and could only watch Mark curiously for a moment, wondering what was making him so tense in the middle of such a dangerous battle. Alpha Two just shrugged and left to continue his assault on the monster, and Mark sighed.
“Pat, you know that’s where the Vanitas company is, right? My building is right in the middle of City H.”
[You’re acting like I didn’t fucking know that before I said it. I know it’s fucking annoying, but you’re the one that asked for the best spot without any insurance or construction companies around. Taking the fight anywhere else would be much worse!]
Mark’s frown deepened for a second before he just released a breath through clenched teeth. Pat was right; there was no need to cry over something this stupid. Besides, it was just a building, and he had insurance. Rebuilding wouldn’t be an issue.
‘Unless the insurance company claims I destroyed the building on my own by being involved in the fight and refuses to pay me because of that.’
Mark scoffed at that thought and decided to ignore it. No company would be stupid enough to say something like that. Mark walked forward to the edge of the roof and looked down at the large Armageddon while giving Pat his orders.
“Pat, connect me to every superhuman here in ELITE Rank. We need to move this fight away from the weaker superhumans.”
[You got it, cap. One sec.]
Patrick immediately connected to the general frequency of the comms used by the Superhuman Alliance and tapped into the comms of Alec and Alpha Two before also connecting Mark to Luna, and then finally to Ida.
Ida tapped her comms curiously while wondering what the hell was going on when she started to hear static on it.
[Everyone. This is Patrick Grey, the vice-captain of the Vanguard Guild. I have a message from the leader of the guild -]
When Pat’s voice came through the comms, Ida immediately frowned in anger and shouted in German.
“~Who is this!? How did you get on this frequency~!?”
Pat scoffed in amusement before laughing at what Ida said. Pat only had a rough understanding of German, but he was able to grasp what Ida’s words meant using just that. Did she really think it would be difficult to get on their frequency? German tech might be robust, but it was fucking inflexible! They never change, so it was just as easy to break into this frequency as it would be to break into a network from the second fucking world war! It was laughably easy!
[I have a message from the leader of the Vanguard Guild. There are too many people around here, and they are interfering with the battle. We need to move this fight over to another location, more specifically, City H in the northern part of the country.]
“And why should we have to listen to you?”
Pat didn’t recognize the voice that just spoke up, so he could only guess that it was from the newcomer, Alpha Two. Pat was about to tear Alpha Two a new one, but Mark’s voice came through the comms and interfered in the coming conflict before it could get out of hand. They did not have time for that.
“You listen to me because it’s the only choice you have. Your toys aren’t working against the monster. We need to draw it to City H and kill it there without involving the others.”
Down on the ground and out of sight of the large Armageddon, Luna felt her heart soar in joy as she heard Mark’s voice talking directly in her ear through the comms. Arit was standing beside Luna, and she asked Luna what was going on. Luna just mouthed to her that it was Mark. Arit also wanted to hear him, so Luna handed Arit a spare comm that she always had with her. Once she put the comm in, Arit was able to hear the tail end of the rest of Mark’s statement.
“… My vice-captain will lay out the optimal route for us to take so we have the least number of casualties, and once we get to City H, you should get ready for a full-out battle. This monster will not go down unless it takes everything with it, and we are not going to stop till it’s dead.”
Arit almost felt like crying just from hearing Mark’s voice. She desperately wanted to speak up, to tell Mark that she could hear him, but Arit knew better than to do that. Arit didn’t want to be too emotional in the middle of such a serious situation.
The roar of the anima echoed through the region again as it unleashed another blast of its laser at Alec Ben, missing him by a wide margin and instead firing it into the air. Alec was currently serving as bait to draw the monster’s attention so that it wouldn’t go attacking the rest of the superhumans on the ground while they came up with a plan.

Alpha Two spoke up through the comms.
“And what exactly are you proposing, ‘captain’? How are we going to draw something like this all the way to City H? In case you haven’t noticed, it’s not exactly on our side. We can’t just ask it nicely to follow us.”
