Chapter 537: Is This a Bad Time To Tell You…?
The Armageddon’s crystal started to glow, and Mark frowned before he moved!
KA-TOOM!
BOOM!
A massive explosion echoed through the street as the monster fired at the spot where Mark had just been. Mark jumped across rooftops, using his chain to move quickly out of the way whenever the monster tried to hit him while he was still in the air.
Ida appeared on the right side of the monster and used her blessing to reduce Alpha Two’s weight, lifting him high enough into the sky so he could fire off a massive shot into the monster’s face!
BOOM!
The monster roared and tried to swipe him out of the air, but Ida brought Alpha Two back down quickly by increasing his gravity. He easily dodged around the monster and escaped once more. Mark used this moment of reprieve to talk to Pat through his comm.
“How far away are we?”
Pat brought up the map in his system and told Mark that they were close. Really close.
[You should see your company building in the distance already.]
Mark looked out into the distance and realized that Pat was right. The large Vanits Motors building was a few kilometers away, just waiting for him to come and destroy it.
Mark hated this fucking plan.
It was almost like Pat could feel Mark’s irritation at the plan over the comms from the way Mark grunted. Pat grinned at the reaction, and his next words almost made Mark lose his mind.
[I don’t suppose now would be a good time to tell you I took five hundred million out of our account.]
Mark stumbled while landing on top of a building!
“WHAT!?”
BOOM!
A massive explosion went off behind Mark, and he was forced to focus on the battle at hand once more as he raced toward the next building to avoid the laser from the monster! Mark felt an intense surge of anger rising from inside him! He was going to fucking kill that bastard the next time he saw him! Mark was going to kill him!
Why the fuck would he take that much money out of the account!? What the fuck did he even use it for!?
Mark raced through an opening in the wall of a building in front of him and avoided a large swipe from the monster that took out the left side of the building! Mark jumped through a window and freefell to the ground for a few seconds before using his chain to drag himself towards the next building just as the Armageddon released a laser beam that eviscerated the building behind him!
BOOM!!
Once Mark was sure the monster wasn’t about to launch another attack at him, he shouted into his comms again!
“I’m going to fucking kill you, Patrick!”
Pat chuckled nervously and continued guiding the other superhumans while responding.
[Please don’t say stuff like that. You can actually do it, so I can’t even take it as a joke.]
“It’s not!”
[If it’s any consolation, I didn’t use it to buy another anime studio.]
Pat had once used more than fifty million dollars from their account to buy out an anime creation company responsible for making his favorite anime. The company had put the anime on hiatus for more than a year because they were following the trend of creating trashy isekai anime, so Pat just bought them out and forced them to continue making the anime. Mark smacked Pat so hard when he found out about it that Pat could still feel the phantom pains from the smack even now! But Pat didn’t regret it one bit!
And besides, the anime turned out to be a hit, so they made the money back soon enough.
Mark didn’t bother responding to Pat’s joke and just told himself that he would corner Pat and ask what the fuck he used the half a billion for later. If Pat used it for something stupid, then Mark was going to make Pat work in his company until he paid back every single penny!

Finally, after a few more minutes of dodging lasers and running across buildings, Mark made it to City H. He landed on top of the Vanitas Motors building and watched the giant monster destroy buildings while forcing its way through the city toward him. Luna, Alec Ben, Ida, and Alpha Two also landed on buildings around Mark.
Mark tightened his gloves once more and got ready as the monster roared in agitation.
It was time to go all out.
…
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Ratatatatatatatat!
The sound of helicopters arriving at the scene of the battle between Mark and the Armageddon was drowned out by the intense explosions rocking the entire continent! The Armageddon, finally realizing that Mark was no longer running away, started to give it its all in the battle, trying its hardest to kill Mark by any means possible.
Mark dashed toward the Armageddon, using the chain in his hand as an anchor to pull himself forward. The Armageddon swung its large arm like a club, trying to hit Mark out of the air, but Mark easily dodged over it. He flipped through the air and landed on the arm for a second before using it as a platform to shoot himself toward the Armageddon’s head!
[User has sent Mana to his legs]!
[Critical Hit]
BOOM!
Mark unleashed a massive kick on the monster’s head, sending it reeling back! The Armageddon roared in anger, and Mark looked down to make sure his mana wasn’t yet in the red.
[Mana: 6900/11515]
Fuck.
Mark cursed internally as he dodged another one of the monster’s lasers and started to move across the high-rise buildings, trying to find a new vantage point for another attack. Even though Mark had recovered a lot of mana in the time he was leading the monster here, that didn’t mean he hadn’t already used up many mana points just to get to this point. Mark fought against both Gunter and Salazar, and that took up a large bulk of his mana. The initial battle he had with the Armageddon before they came up with the plan to bring it here also took up some mana.
Mark had to make sure he didn’t use too much mana for his attacks from now on. If Mark ran out of mana, he’d be left with only his skills, and it would be at least twice as hard to handle this bastard!
The monster swung its large arm toward the building that Mark was running across, but it couldn’t hit the building before its arm dropped from a sudden increase in gravity! The monster roared in agitation, but Mark used that chance to blast off the building and toward the monster’s unprotected side! He slammed his fist into the monster’s neck, making it stumble forward before he put both hands together and brought them down in a hammer strike that echoed across the entire region!
[Divergent Fist]!
BOOM!
This time, the monster couldn’t even stay on its feet as it was thrown straight to the ground. Up in the sky, the news copters and journalists following the fight since it left City G were going crazy, describing everything to the people watching from their safehouses and bunkers. The news copters knew that being in the sky was dangerous due to the multiple flying anima that could appear at any time, but they were willing to risk it now that the fight had moved to a place with a safer air zone. City H didn’t have as many anima as City G, since Alec and Alpha Two had already taken care of most of them, so the helicopters could fly without worrying about getting blindsided by a giant flying cow.
