Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 600
Chapter 600: The One-Winged Angel
Mark was like a man on a mission, and such thoughts were never going to be enough to stop him!
A group of angels ran out from the end of the corridor while tying their armor in place and breathing heavily. They had been sleeping when they heard the bell alerting them to an intruder, so they had to hurry and put everything on before coming out. But by the time they turned the corner, they slowly stopped their advance until they were standing in place with wide, disbelieving eyes.
They thought they would come here to see their comrades fighting against Mark and pushing him back, that they would only need to provide support to finish him off. But what they were seeing was unlike anything they could’ve imagined.
Mark was standing in the middle of the hallway with bloodied gauntlets tightened into fists, and all around him on the ground were angels left and right. Decapitated angels, disemboweled angels. Dead angels as far as the eye could see. Mark turned his eyes toward where some noise was coming from, and the angels that just arrived on the scene felt a collective shiver travel down their spines as his eyes landed on them!
Mark’s face was stained with blood, leaving only dark pools of black obsidian eyes to stare them down like the devil himself! His current state, combined with his pale skin and black getup, made Mark look more like a demon than ever before! It took all of their power not to run at the sight of him!
Mark cracked his neck again to release some tension and turned fully toward the angels with an empty look in his eyes before he waved them on.
“Well…? Are we doing this or not?”
The angels looked toward each other fearfully, wondering if they should attack him or not. They would’ve just retreated and waited for more reinforcements. But they all knew they couldn’t retreat here. There were hardly fifty angels left in the castle, and they were one of the last lines of defense against Mark! They had to stop him here.
“I’ll take point. The rest of you follow me.”
One of the angels, a tall man carrying a long sword in his hand and a magic circle in his other, spoke up as he walked forward and frowned at Mark. He was obviously trying to be brave for the sake of the others, and the angel turned his head to his comrades and gave them a confident smile he hoped would boost their morale.
“He’s just one man, so—”
SQUELCH!
The angel’s head suddenly burst into pieces before he could finish what he was saying, and the rest of the angels stood with wide eyes as they watched his body twitch a few times before falling to the ground with a dull thud! None of the angels knew what the hell had just happened to the man, but they all knew that it was definitely Mark who had done it!
They turned to Mark as one with fear in their eyes, and one of them screamed at the top of her lungs as they saw Mark running straight at them!
“NO! NO! Please!!”
[Divergent Fist]!!
The world blurred into varying shades of grey as Mark pulled his hand back before reality seemed to rush back into existence as space imploded!
KA-BOOM!!!

The castle grounds shook and vibrated without restraint, and all around the large bedroom, rocks and debris fell from the roof to the ground. A male angel standing in front of a large four-poster bed frowned as he looked up at the roof, then shook his head and turned to the woman standing beside him.
“It seems the intruder is more troublesome than we initially thought. Take the elite team and go out to finish them off. Don’t let them get close to the North Wing.”
The woman beside him nodded, then turned and bowed to a young woman lying on the bed with a worried expression on her face before leaving. Once the woman was gone, the male angel turned to the young woman on the bed and spoke up.
“You have nothing to fear, Miss Rachael. The intruder might be strong, but Fey is one of the strongest S-tier angels alive. She and the rest of her team will take care of the intruder.”
The young woman on the bed opened her mouth slightly, as though she wanted to say something, but then she closed it and frowned, looking down at the bed. Her name was Rachael, and to say she was a beautiful woman would be an insult to the ethereal aesthetics of her appearance.
She had fair skin like alabaster and long white hair that flowed all the way down to the bed, pooling out in wisps of white around her. Her hands were thin, her figure slim and shapely, with enough bust and curves to make her moderately endowed.
Rachael had bright blue eyes that glowed under any form of light, and when she looked at the man in front of her with those eyes, he couldn’t help but take in a silent breath as he forced himself not to get lost in them. Rachael’s entire appearance could only be described as divine, but the one thing that stained this ethereal beauty was the wings she carried behind her. One of the wings was perfectly shaped, white, and unblemished. But the other wing had been torn in half, leaving her with a malformed stump on her back that brought her great shame whenever she was around other angels.
The man standing in front of her was the guard assigned by her parents to look after her. His name was Titus, and he had sworn his life to her at her birth, promising always to protect her until death.

Rachael’s parents had sent her down to this castle two months ago after an illness left her in the state she was currently in. The illness was so severe that the doctors found necrosis in one of her wings and had to amputate half of it to save her life. Ever since this happened, the bright and cheery girl that Rachael had once been had disappeared, and in her place was a gloomy, silent woman with no care for the things around her. Rachael had become an outcast among her peers in the kingdom, and she knew she only brought shame to her parents whenever she appeared at parties or gatherings, because truly…
What was an angel without her wings?
And so, for the sake of her own sanity and their reputation, Rachael’s parents had sent her to the Myriad Castle on the outskirts of the kingdom, hoping that time away would allow her to find some other meaning in life and give her the chance to heal properly.
But now, things were already going south before Rachael could even spend two months here! An intruder had broken into the town, and from the sounds of things, he was a powerful and highly skilled combatant. Most of their forces had left earlier to fight in a war on Arago Island, leaving them with a small number that didn’t look like they could stop him.
