Chapter 601: A Worthless Existence
“Do not worry, Miss Rachael. I am certain Fey will not fail. Although she is an S-tier, she possesses strength that could rival some S-tiers. We will be hearing good news coon.”
Rachael turned towards Titus as he said this and she tried to give him a small smile of gratitude, but it only came out as a pained grimace as her torn wing twitched in pain from the stress. She stopped trying and just looked back down at the bed.
Titus easily noticed what had happened and sighed internally before turning to leave the room. At moments like these, it was best for Rachael to be alone.
“I shall not let any harm come to you, my lady. I swear it on my life.”
Titus only said this before he left the room and shut the door, missing the quiet whisper that floated out from Rachael just before he left.
“What I have isn’t a life worth protecting.”

Mark walked down a long hallway leading to a large double door at the end. The blood on his hands had begun to drip onto the floor as he walked, leaving a red trail behind him that showed just how many Angels he had killed to get to this point. The large double door was made from the same golden metal as his throne room in the demon castle, but as Mark touched it, it slowly started to creak open, revealing a large banquet hall. Mark let his eyes roam over the interior. The floor was covered in lush red carpeting, and the ceiling had multiple chandeliers and bright lights painting the room in a golden hue. On the other end of the room was a staircase leading up to another part of the castle, and down on the floor in front of the staircase were more than thirty Angels organized into a battle formation.
Mark felt a smile threatening to break out on his face, and he did not stop it. More than one Angel flinched as they saw Mark’s bloodthirsty grin as he slowly walked into the room. From the blood all over his body, the angels all knew that Mark had killed hundreds already.
The woman in front of the soldiers was Fey, and she raised her spear towards Mark, speaking with authority.
“By order of Duke Grant, you are ordered to put your weapons down and surrender. If you do so now, then we will make your end quick.”
Mark scoffed and he felt amusement bubble up from somewhere deep inside him as the scoff turned to a chuckle and it wasn’t long before he put a hand up to his face and began to laugh hard! They were telling him to surrender!? Him!?
Mark hadn’t heard something so funny in a very long time.
One of the Angels behind Fey shuffled nervously as she saw Mark begin to laugh. Seeing a man with blood all over him laughing in such a way was sure to make anyone nervous. And knowing that it was the blood of your own comrades that was staining the man’s body made it even worse. At that moment, Mark looked like a madman.
After a few seconds, Mark finally stopped laughing and looked at them again. From what Mark could feel, the woman who spoke to him was close to the power level of the Angels he fought at the outpost a few days ago. She was definitely a high-ranking officer with how strong she was, and the others behind her were probably the soldiers that she trained herself.
‘She’s likely a high A-tier. Or maybe even an S-tier, but on the lower end. But the soldiers behind her are weaker. None of them are above B-tier.’
Mark spoke up.
“Are there any other soldiers left in this castle?”
Fey narrowed her eyes in annoyance as she saw Mark flicking his hands to the side and spraying blood all over the red carpet. It was obvious that he was getting ready to attack, and she decided she was not going to make his end a swift one.
“You don’t need to know whether there are any more of us. It will not matter when you are dead.”
Fey crouched and put her spear in a ready position, and the others behind her did the same, brandishing their weapons toward Mark and preparing to launch their spells. Mark just grinned.
“I’ll take that as a yes. That means there is someone else more powerful than you in here and they’re probably waiting for you to tire me out so they can attack. Well, it’s a good thing I won’t waste too much time on you.”
Fey’s eyes narrowed at the subtle jab, and she gritted her teeth in anger. Fey was a proud woman, so hearing Mark say that he wouldn’t even waste any time defeating her managed to bruise her pride! She seethed at Mark and growled out her next words.
“You heath–”
WHIP!
Fey’s eyes widened as she quickly brought her spear to the side, sensing something ominous lashing out toward her head! A massive force slammed into her spear, tearing straight through it before carrying Fey off her feet and sending her into the wall on the other side of the room!
BOOM!
“Ha! You actually sensed it!?”
Mark exclaimed in amusement when he saw that Fey managed to sense where his attack from coming from and immediately dashed forward toward the group of Angels who were still staring at their leader in shock! The force that slammed into Fey was his Fangs, and Mark was stunned that she was able to defend against it at all! Mark hadn’t seen any of the Angels he fought before even noticing the Fangs before they were dead, so just doing that gave Fey a little boost in Mark’s ranking!
But the Angels with her were not of the same caliber, and Mark realized with even more amusement that without her, they didn’t have half the confidence they pretended to have! More than half of them immediately turned tail and began to run away when they saw Mark charging for them like a fucking devil, and Mark wasted no time as he lashed out and attacked them with his Fangs!

He dodged around an attack from one of them and slapped away a spell another one threw at him before he began to eradicate them like ants! Mark sent mana to his fists, and his gauntlet shone under the bright golden light as he bulldozed his way through their numbers!
Bam!
Bam!
Bam!
One punch was enough for each and every one of them, and even when Mark did not get the [Critical Hit] buff, his normal punches with only a little application of mana were still strong enough to obliterate a regular Calamity Class anima!
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
“Die, you demon!”
An Angel screamed from behind Mark as he ran at him with his sword raised. The Angels had already realized that using light skills against Mark was useless, so they were more focused on trying to hit him with their weapons. Mark didn’t even bother turning around to face the screaming Angel as he sent the Fang out behind him, using it to slap the Angel’s arm to the side and make him miss Mark by a wide margin before Mark turned around with his hand cocked back!
[Critical Hit]!
BOOM!
