Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 604
Chapter 604: A Scared Chick
With how fast Mark was, it was almost a useless advantage, as Mark was able to move out of the way of any attack even with his limited visibility!
Mark deflected a sword strike to the side and stepped into Titus’ strike zone! He lashed out with a punch, and Titus immediately moved his body to the left to avoid it! Titus already knew how dangerous Mark’s punches were! He wasn’t getting hit again! But Mark easily flowed into an elbow strike that landed on Titus’s chest and threw him back! Mark lashed out with a punch that Titus quickly blocked with the flat end of his sword, but Mark turned with the block and his other elbow came up quickly and slammed into Titus’ head, tearing a gash in Titus’ brow that sent Titus stumbling back in pain! Mark took advantage of the situation and quickly lashed out with two more punches that slammed into Titus’s stomach!
BAM!
BAM!
“GAH!”
Titus spat out in pain from the hits, and Mark wasted no time following after him! Mark was already prepared to send a punch toward Titus’ head to end this already, but he was blinded once again as Titus’s large wings flapped in front of him and released hundreds of feathers into the air! Mark’s brow furrowed in annoyance as he stopped and jumped back! Mark knew that Titus was going to use this as another chance to attack, and he was proven right when Titus suddenly jumped out from the wall of feathers with his sword positioned right toward Mark’s chest for a final attack!
But Titus felt his eyes widen in shock as he saw that same smile on Mark’s face. That damned smile that had been mocking him from the very start told Titus that he had just fallen into a trap as blue lightning started to streak across the corridor!
‘A lightning attack!? Since when could he do that too!?’
Mark had never even shown that he could use lightning since the fight started! Even when it looked like Mark was about to lose, he still didn’t use it!
‘Don’t tell me he had been waiting for the right time when I let my guard down!?’
“What sort of monster are you!?”
Titus could only scream out in shock and hatred once he realized the trap that he had fallen into, and Mark’s laugh resonated across the hallway as everything erupted in a wave of blue light!
[Lightning Surge]!!
BZZZTTTTTT!!!!
…
“Gasp!”
A silent gasp echoed through a small room as Rachel sat up in bed once she felt something shaking the castle grounds. Rachel had been feeling the vibrations from Mark’s fight all this while, and although a small part of her was worried about the angels that were fighting, she did not have enough empathy in her to care at all and decided that it would be best to just go to sleep.
But it wasn’t until she heard fighting right outside her door that Rachel felt sweat pooling at the back of her neck. Didn’t this mean that the intruder had made it past all the other guards and was already engaging Titus?
Rachel felt the first thread of worry taking root in her heart as she sat up and glanced at the door while the battle raged on. The echoes of metal clashing against metal and the rumble that shook the castle with every one of their strikes were enough to drive sleep away from Rachel, and after she heard a massive electric discharge, she swallowed in fear as she realized that the battle was over.
The sound of footsteps came from outside her door, and Rachel found herself wishing silently that it would be Titus. It was a shocking realization to Rachel at the moment, but when she really looked within herself, she knew she didn’t want to die. Not yet.
She might be a defective angel and a useless daughter, but she still wanted to live. Even if it was just for another moment.
“T-Titus… is that you?”
Rachel called out with a shaky voice, as she didn’t hear anything on the other side of the door for a few moments. But then, the door handle creaked as someone turned it, and the lock broke, causing the door to slowly swing open. The moment Rachel stared into the dark abyss of Mark’s gaze, she knew she was a dead woman.
Rachel a strangled cry of fear escaped from Rachael’s lips and she quickly shuffled back in her bed, trying to put some distance between her and Mark as the door swung open fully. Mark had blood all over his body. The dead body of Titus was still visible behind Mark, with a large gaping hole in Titus’s chest, showing that Mark had impaled him using nothing but his fist. Mark flicked his hand to the side to get rid of some blood, then used the back of his forearm to clean the blood that was leaking from a wound on his chin. Mark then tilted his head curiously while staring at the girl looking up at him in pure fear.
Mark’s first impression of her was that she looked like a chick—a tiny chick that didn’t know anything about the outside world. She was so delicate with her beautiful face and dainty appearance that anyone would immediately know she was one of the weakest creatures one could meet in this world. But then Mark’s eyes trailed toward her wings, and he raised a brow once he landed on the torn right wing. So, she was defective? If they were going through all this trouble just to protect someone who was defective, then Mark knew she had to be someone important.
There was no way they would leave so many guards here for someone who wasn’t important.
Mark made his way into the room, and the girl on the bed immediately screamed, putting her hands up and bringing up a small light shield in front of her. The shield shimmered with a golden hue and pulsed in time with her magic, but Mark just gave the shield one glance and scoffed before moving past her to the window on the other side of the room. Mark looked out into the dark ocean, and he felt his mouth splitting into a grin as he saw a large horde of ships following another ship sailing quickly toward the island.
Mark’s plan had worked.
“A-Are you not going to kill me?”
Mark blinked in surprise when the girl finally talked, and he couldn’t help but think she sounded a lot like Talia. Although the girl looked old enough to be Mark’s age, her voice was so soft and cute. It was a weird combination.

Mark turned toward her, and the girl flinched once his eyes landed on her. She was shaking, and the light shield she had brought up was already starting to die out. Mark could tell she wasn’t the best when it came to magic, either. He walked up to her, and she started to scoot back on the bed until she fell off the other end, landing with a painful thud on the floor. The girl cried out in pain as her shield finally broke into pieces, but her cries quickly died out as Mark appeared beside her and grabbed her arm. Mark lifted her off the ground, ignoring her struggles, and gave her a once-over that almost made her pass out right then.
“What is your name?”
Mark asked, staring the girl directly in the eyes. The mere act of doing that put so much pressure on her that she immediately started to cry. Mark blinked in surprise before narrowing his eyes in anger.
“Stop crying, or I’ll fucking kill you. I didn’t even say anything that would make you cry. What the fuck is wrong with you?”
