Chapter 607: An Attack From Both Sides
Mark had been waiting for the Angels to arrive at just the right distance all this while. It had actually been Mark’s plan to use Rachael as a shield, and Mark grinned once he saw that his plan had worked. The Angels didn’t want to fire at him because they were afraid they would also hit Rachael.

Mark raised his hand into the air, and the innate skill of the [Gauntlet of the Thunder God] came to life as blue lightning arched across the sky. The Angels were already putting up their defenses as they realized what Mark was about to do, but that didn’t bother Mark at all as he summoned a bolt of lightning as long as a javelin into his arm before planting his foot and throwing it forward!

[Lightning Bolt]!!

BZZZTTT!!!

The lightning blitzed across the air and shot straight at the light shield covering the Angel ship, and at the same moment, a large barrage of dark spells was also fired from the demons’ ships toward the light shields!

BOOM!

The attack struck the shields from both sides, and the Angels holding up the shield all felt an intense strain as the shield shimmered for a moment before holding strong! The female captain of the ship looked up at Mark, hoping that he wouldn’t be able to use such a powerful skill more than once or twice, but her eyes widened as she saw Mark raise both hands in the air as two more lightning bolts appeared in his hands!

Mark’s attack was relentless as he continued summoning lightning bolts one after the other without any rest and sending them toward the angels in a continuous barrage! The lightning bolt skill was innate to the [Gauntlets of the Thunder God], so it took very little mana to activate, allowing Mark to do this all day if he wanted to!

The demons also didn’t let up as they spammed massive, rapid-fire dark spells at the Angel ships in an effort to break down the shield from behind! The attack from both sides put a lot of strain on the angels holding up the shields and it wasn’t long before some of them lost their strength and fell over from the strain!

The female captain felt her heart race as she saw the light shield covering them beginning to crack at the edges. She knew that if they allowed things to go on as they were, then the shield would break, and they would be exposed to the attack from both sides!

The captain looked towards the tower again, and she felt her eyes narrow into a glare as her resolve hardened. She knew the first thing they had to do was get rid of the man spamming the lightning. They couldn’t move forward carelessly without getting rid of him, so they wouldn’t be able to make it to the shore and escape the demons if he stayed up there!

They had to attack the tower regardless of whether they would hit the Duke’s daughter or not.

The captain gritted her teeth and hardened her resolve as she shouted to the men around her to aim their light arrows at the tower. They were going to distract the man up there and use that opportunity to head to shore quickly! The angel soldiers hesitated only for a moment, as they all knew that firing their light arrows had a high chance of killing Rachael, but the captain shouted at them to just do it, and they finally activated the spells.

Up on the tower, Mark hummed as he saw the Angels aiming light skills at him, and he spoke up so that Rachael could hear him.

“Well, well, well. It seems your life really isn’t that important to them after all. They’re planning to fire even though you’re right here.”

Rachael was delirious and terrified as she hung from her hands on the side of the tower. Mark had tied both of her hands using the Fangs and let her sway freely in the wind. But the height terrified her because she knew that if she fell from there, she had no way to save herself. Her wings were ruined, so she couldn’t fly!

“P-Please! Please save me! Please!! I’m afraid of heights!”

Mark scoffed in amusement.

‘Like I give a fuck.’

Rachael was crying as she begged for mercy, and Mark just gave her a look of irritation as her crying started to get more annoying. Mark had literally not done anything to her since he grabbed her from her room. The only thing he had done was tie her up and hang her from the side of the building. Why was she crying as if he was trying to torture her or something?

Mark knew that the Fangs would not break no matter how much Rachael struggled, but Rachael didn’t know that. And since she couldn’t see the Fangs either, it was only natural for her to be terrified.

The Angels had prepared their spells, and the captain raised her hand and shouted the order to fire. Hundreds of light arrows flew out from the magic circles and soared toward the tower, and Mark only grinned as Rachael screamed in fright and started to beg even more! She didn’t want to die! She didn’t want to die yet!

“Please! Stop this!! I’m begging you! I’ll give you anything! My father is rich! He can give you anything! Just—AAH!”

Rachael suddenly screamed as she was pulled up by the chain, and Mark threw her behind him before he raised a hand towards the light spells! Rachael thought that Mark had gone crazy! He wants to stop so many light arrows with only his hands!?

But then the light arrows hit, and Rachael could only watch in shock as they slammed against Mark relentlessly before dissipating into nothing once they touched him! It was insane to see something so impossible happening, but Rachael couldn’t deny it. The demons lord was blocking light spells using nothing but his body! Was he immune to light spells!?

Once the light arrows died out, Mark shook his hand once to rid it of the tingling that appeared there. Mark only took ten percent damage from any light spell, so even though the spells didn’t hurt him, they were still enough to shake him up a little. But that was nothing compared to what Mark was about to do to these fuckers!

Mark raised his hand in the air and summoned his largest bolt of lightning yet! He grabbed hold of it like some sort of thunder god and slammed his feet into the ground before throwing it forward in perfect form!

[Lightning Bolt]!!

WOOOSHHH!

BZTTT!

The lightning bolt shot forward with all the fury of nature, and the tower that Mark was standing on finally gave out as it started to crumble to the ground. Rachael screamed in fright as she started falling through the roof of the building, but Mark easily grabbed the Fangs and dragged her up before catching her bridal style as they both fell. Rachael flinched the moment Mark touched her and thought he was going to hurt her, but she was surprised when she saw that Mark wasn’t even looking at her.

Mark had a wide grin on his face as he looked toward the Angel boat in the distance, and the lightning bolt had finally decimated the light shield!

BOOM!!!
