Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 608
Chapter 608: We’ll Surrender
Mark had a wide grin on his face as he looked toward the Angel boat in the distance, and the lightning bolt had finally decimated the light shield!
BOOM!!!
The Angels were shocked that Mark was able to easily tank their light arrows. It was almost like a collective joke being played on all of them as they watched him hold back their attack with nothing but a single hand! So when Mark shot that final lightning bolt at them, they weren’t fast enough to reinforce the light shields that were already put up, and the lightning bolt managed to easily crack and break through the shield, leaving the ship exposed to a barrage of attacks that the demons wasted no time in sending toward them!
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Massive explosions rocked the Angel ship as the dark spells and fire-based attacks ravaged it! The ship could no longer bear the intensity of moving over the rapidly churning waters while also withstanding the continuous attack from both sides, and the Angels all realized, with a morbid sense of their impending doom, that they were sinking!
The captain of the ship looked around desperately as she tried to figure out a way to salvage the situation. The only thing they could do now was to abandon the ship and somehow make it to shore, but the captain did not hold any false delusions about what would happen if they lost this boat. The demons would attack them in the water and kill many of them, and even if the Angels managed to make it to the shore, the man who held lightning in his hands would be there waiting for them.
It was an unsalvageable situation, and the captain knew it. They had been lured into a trap by the demons, and she fell for it.
“EVACUATE! EVERYBODY EVACUATE! GET TO THE SHORE NOW!”
The captain roared at the top of her lungs as she shouted out for them to get to the shore! Even if she knew that it was a lost cause, she did not want to just give up like that! She was going to get to the shore and fight that man. If she was going to die, then she was going to die like a warrior, not by drowning like a fool!
The waves churning through the ocean accelerated the rate at which water poured into the Angel ship, and before long, the water started to drag the ship down, forcing the Angels to either take to the sky and brave the stormy weather or fall into the ocean and try their best to swim across to the other side.
The captain dove into the ocean, and she quickly went underwater to try and get away from the intense waves that were battering against the Angels floating above. The water was dark, and the captain couldn’t even see more than five meters in front of her, but she knew the direction of the castle, and she corrected her position and started to move across the water to try and get over there quickly.
The sound of rapid-fire echoed above her as the demons arrived on the scene and began to fire their spells into the water to try and drown as many of the Angels as possible, but the captain ignored all that as she continued forward. It was up to her men now to try their best to survive and make it to shore. There was nothing that she could do.
WOOSH!
The captain stopped in her tracks as something flashed past her. She was barely able to see what it was, and she turned her head from side to side quickly to try and catch a glimpse of what had just passed by.
WOOSH!
This time, the captain was able to catch a glimpse of white bone as the creature passed beside her again, and her eyes widened in shock as she immediately began swimming to the surface of the water.
It was a Nightmare Shark!
The large shark appeared from the darkness of the abyss before the captain could get away and caught her leg before it started to drag her underwater quickly! The captain raised her hand up desperately to try and grab something, but there was nothing to hold onto as she was dragged under! She quickly started to use her foot to hit the shark’s nose and tried to get it to let go, but another shark also appeared and slammed into her side, drawing the breath out of her lungs and making her swallow liters of water as she lost her composure!
The two sharks teamed up and both dragged her under and into the darkness of the abyss!
This scene was playing out among all of the Angels that had dared to enter the water to try swimming to shore! They were all shocked when they saw their comrades sinking into the water without any warning, and many of them realized in shock that they were being hunted by sea monsters!
The Nightmare Shark was one of the strongest predators in the sea, and it had no equal in speed underwater. The Angels stood no chance as they were all dragged down by the strong jaws and strength of the sharks!
Mark stood on the shore of the castle, watching the sharks drag the Angels into the water with the one-winged angel Rachael still in his hands. Their screams and cries for help made a small part of him waver as he felt the wrongness of taking these many lives settling on him, but he did not allow that to break his resolve as he watched them resolutely.
Mark knew that this was necessary if he was ever going to achieve peace with the Angels. In Mark’s mind, peace wasn’t something that could be achieved between a weak group and a strong group. In times of war, the stronger group would never give up their advantage and sign for peace just because the weaker group asked for it.
So in order for them to even stand a chance of becoming peaceful with each other, Mark had to either make the demons so strong that they would be able to pose a proper threat to the Angels, or he had to make the Angels so weak that they would no longer pose a threat to the demons. Mark was going to do both and make sure that there was no chance of the demons getting suppressed.
This way, when Mark goes ahead and advocates for a peaceful resolution to the war, he won’t be talking from a place of weakness!
“No. No! What are you doing!? You demon!”
Rachael struggled out from Mark’s arms when she saw her people getting dragged into the ocean, and Mark let her go easily. Rachel got to her feet and ran to the edge of the water! Her hands were still tied with Mark’s Fangs, so Rachael couldn’t go far before she stumbled to her knees and fell at the edge of the ocean while watching the gruesome scene! Her face was contorted in a look of pure agony, and before long she started to cry while screaming for Mark to stop what he was doing!
“We’ll surrender! They can’t fight anymore! Please! Please!”
