Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 610
Chapter 610: Aragon Is Ours
Rachael was pulled along by the chain as she followed them both and she gave them curious glances from behind. So, this woman was his lover?
This was the thought that crossed Rachael’s mind as she watched their interaction. Rachael could tell that Mark was more relaxed around Arit, and he must already be really comfortable around her with how close he allowed her to stick to him. A small pang of jealousy rose in Rachael’s heart as she saw the way they conversed, and she knew she would never have something like that with her deformity, but she shook her head and had to forget all about it as she was pulled forward once more as they boarded the ship.

The ships headed back to Aragon Island where the demons from the southern continent were still battling against the Angels that had been on the island. Due to the loss of so many of their forces and the chaos that ensued from that, the Angels had lost their upper hand, and the demons were already starting to push them back. When the ships carrying reinforcements as well as Mark appeared on the horizon and started to fire their spells at the Angel troops, the Angels realized that they had already lost the war.
The battle lasted all night as the Angels of Aragon Island fought to their last man. Their leader refused to surrender like Rachael had done, and it was a battle for survival rather than victory as they were slowly pushed back and eradicated by the demons.
And under the rising early morning sun, Mark and the demons stood victorious over their territory once more.
The battle for Aragon had been won.
The return trip to the Myriad Castle on the Angel continent was met with jubilation and drinking. Even before they reached the castle, the demons had already started drinking like fishes and partying like wild animals on their ships. They were all excited about this victory, especially since they had been suffering nothing but losses for a long time before Mark came.
Mark only stayed with the demons for a few minutes at the start of the party, for the sake of showing solidarity, and then spent the rest of the trip in the captain’s room of the main ship with Arit. Mark ordered Hunn to take care of Rachael and not to put her in the cargo hold with the rest of the angel prisoners. Instead, she was to be treated properly and allowed to stay in a secluded room where she could get some food and water to rest.
Hunn was still confused about what Mark was trying to do by caring for an Angel, but he had no right to question Mark, especially since Mark had just brought them one of their largest victories. So, he did as he was told and put Rachael in a locked room far from where the demons were having their parties.
The demons now occupied Aragon Island, and once they docked at the shore, they would occupy Myriad Castle as well. Mark did not want the Myriad Castle to fall back into the hands of the Angels, so he planned to return to the castle and begin his next invasion from there rather than from the demon castle. He had already tasked Mildred with readying a room and clothes for him and Arit, as well as a proper space for strategy meetings, so she went ahead of them to prepare everything.
…
After docking at the shore, the demons took control of the Myriad Castle. Many of the demons got to work cleaning up the blood and removing the dead bodies of the angels that Mark had killed before burning them in a large heap while others went to put the angel prisoners in the dungeons with the other prisoners that Mark had put there.
Right now, Mark was in the large master bedroom that once belonged to Rachael, lying in bed with Arit beside him. They were both naked, and Arit had snuggled up and fallen asleep on Mark’s chest with a satisfied smile on her face. Mark was stroking Arit’s hair gently while staring up at the ceiling with a faraway look in his eyes, thinking about what was going to happen next.
Mark knew that taking this castle from the Angels must have alerted every single Angel in the area, and it wouldn’t be long before they started to mount an attack to try to reclaim the castle. Mark couldn’t let that happen if his plans were to move forward smoothly. His plan was to steadily advance across the Angel continent, taking their outposts down one by one to weaken their defenses and reduce the number of soldiers they had. To achieve this, Mark needed this castle to stand strong. This castle was the gateway into the deeper parts of the Angel continent, and if the demons lost it, they would be forced to fall back to Aragon Island, where they wouldn’t be able to mount a proper offense.
“Mmh~”
Arit sighed from Mark’s chest as she shifted slightly, pressing her breasts tighter against him. Arit’s leg slid up Mark’s thigh, and her hand wrapped around his side to hold him close. Mark felt himself getting excited just from the sight of Arit’s chest, which seemed to grow larger every time he saw it, but he had to control himself as he kissed the top of her head and gently disentangled himself from her hold to get up.
Arit frowned at the loss of his touch, and her eyes slowly opened as she looked around to see what was happening. Mark smiled down at her and told her to get some more sleep. Mark knew she was exhausted from all the fighting that had taken place since they arrived, so he was fine with her resting more. Arit asked Mark if he wasn’t tired as well. Even though Arit had been fighting since they came here, so had Mark! In fact, Mark had fought much more than she had. No one could raid an entire castle singlehandedly and not be dead tired afterward!
“I’m fine. There’s something I have to take care of first. I’ll come back to bed once I’m done. Come on, try to get some sleep. I’ll see you in a few minutes.”
Mark spoke kindly to reassure Arit that he wasn’t too tired. Even though he was mentally exhausted after the whole ordeal with the castle, he didn’t feel much physical strain. Mark was already strong enough that fighting for days on end wouldn’t put a dent in his stamina!
Arit made sure that Mark was telling the truth and wasn’t just pushing himself for the sake of some bet his patron god made, before finally nodding in acceptance. Mark smiled and leaned down to kiss her, and Arit happily accepted it, running her hand through his hair one more time before reluctantly letting go so he could leave.
Mark put on something simple—a black pair of slacks and a button-up shirt—and left the room to head to the throne room. There were guards standing along the hallway, and they bowed the moment Mark walked out of the room. Mark told one of them to go and summon the members of the council to the meeting room, and the man scurried off to do as he was told while Mark continued forward.
