Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 633
Chapter 633: Misplaced Trust
“Sir, there’s been an attack on a stronghold west of here! We just got a messenger hawk!”
An angel quickly ran up to Seraph and said this desperately, and Seraph’s eyes widened before he began to yell out orders to the army behind him to start moving!
“Tarin, take half of the soldiers and hurry to the stronghold! Don’t take any prisoners, kill every single demon you come across! The rest of us will move to block the escape routes out of the stronghold! Go!”
The angel rushed out from Duke Grant’s castle and towards the western stronghold, and Seraph swore in his heart that he would one day kill this bastard demon lord if it was the last thing he did! Seraph turned to the remaining soldiers and started commanding them to gather the bodies of the dead angels and see if any of them were still alive so they could take them in for healing.
…
Over at the western stronghold, even with the quick response of the angels, they were too slow to save anyone at that stronghold. Mark killed every single soldier there, and he also ended up killing soldiers at three other strongholds, making his total kill count surpass one thousand angel soldiers.
All this while, the demons had been watching and waiting to see what would happen. After seeing the way Mark decimated their forces that went to the central city, the demons decided that they couldn’t launch any attack on the angels without proper planning and they decided to send out scouts to simply see what Mark was trying to do..
If they were going to attack the angels, they had to make sure that Mark was not anywhere near the region they wanted to attack. But since Mark was currently attacking the angels, things were working in their favor. Not only was Mark killing hundreds of angels in each attack, but he was also keeping the angel army too busy for them to be able to pay any attention to the demons.
The demons were basically on neutral ground, and they were happy to remain there for as long as possible!
“Sir! He’s outside!”
Hunn’s head shot up from the map he had been looking at as he heard one of the demons outside screaming in fear, and he ran to the window to see a silhouette flying toward the Myriad castle from the cover of darkness.
Hunn narrowed his eyes and felt his heartbeat spike as he saw that it was Arit who was flying towards the castle, and she was holding one of Mark’s hands and carrying him along!
Was he really going to attack them now!?
“Everyone to your position! Mages, line the walls and prepare to fire! Where the hell is the Air Force!?”
Hunn heard Riger shouting loudly as he ran through the castle grounds toward his position, and Hunn also gathered his things and started to make his way out to get into position! Even though the demons had been watching neutrally all this while as the demon lord and the angels fought, that does not mean they have been idle! They formed plans and strategies against the demon lord in case he ever attacked them!
The demon force formed a defensive front in front of the Myriad castle, and their mages began to cast their magic and form magic circles while waiting for the order to fire. The Air Force took to the sky and headed straight toward Arit and Mark.
“Throw me forward!”
Mark shouted out to Arit over the harsh winds, and Arit pulled back and threw Mark toward the Myriad castle before she stopped and watched from a distance.
Mark pulled his fist back and unleashed a punch into the air!
[Divergent Fist]!
[Sonic Impact]!
KA-BOOM!
The air in front of Mark rippled and compacted in on itself before exploding out in a massive wave of turbulent winds that shot forward and blasted everything in front of Mark away!
All the members of the Air Force that had been heading towards Arit and Mark were suddenly blown back by the intense winds and thrown toward the castle walls! Many of them slammed against the walls and broke through them into the castle, and others even passed out from the intense impact!
WOOSH!!
“Grk!”
Arit flew straight toward Mildred as she saw her being blown back from the impact and grabbed her by the neck with a terrifying grin on her face!
“I’ve missed you, Mildred!”
Mildred’s eyes widened in fear as she felt her heart rate pick up once she saw th emad look in Arit’s eyes and the grin on her face. Arit pulled back and slammed her fist into Mildred’s jaw, sending her to the ground before flashing down to continue their fight!
The soldiers on the ground were also forced back from the intense winds, and they brought up their hands to protect their faces until the winds passed.

Once it seemed like the winds had died down, the men turned back to where Mark was and prepared to intercept him, but they were all stunned as they saw Mark right on top of them with his hand glowing blue with crackling electricity!
[Lightning Bolt]!
BZZZZTTTT!!!
…
“Your Majesty, the Myriad castle was attacked yesterday by the demon lord. The scouts we sent out say that more than ninety percent of the demons there were killed in the ensuing battle.”
Seraph, the leader of the royal guard, was on one knee as he gave his report to the king and the king’s advisor. Ephraim was scowling as he listened to what Seraph was saying. There was a scar on the left side of Ephraim’s face that had barely healed, and every time Ephraim heard the name of the demon lord, he could feel the scar twitch and burn from the anger he felt! It was infuriating!
Seraph continued.
“I suggest we summon some of the soldiers from the prominent families spread around the angel continent to bolster our forces. That way, we can prevent any form of surprise attack from the demon lord.”
“What does the demon lord think he’s doing, Ephraim? Did he go mad from what you said to him in the meeting? I heard from some of the elders that the requests you were making were very outlandish. Maybe you made him angry?”
The young king turned to his advisor and asked this, and Ephraim felt his eye twitch in irritation once he heard that. Ephraim swore that he would find out who was spreading such nonsense to the king before the day was over and have them put in the dungeons. Ephraim bent low towards the king’s ear and said that he hadn’t done anything that should make Mark angry.
“I gave the demons sensible conditions to facilitate the surrender of their forces. He had no right to lash out at us as he did, and his current actions are simply his own doing. If anything, I think it is because of the attempted coup from his forces that he is going this far. Most likely, he feels betrayed by them.”
The advisor said all this with the confidence of a man who refuses to accept his own fault, and the king hummed curiously as he accepted it all at face value. The king had depended on Ephraim for the longest time for making important decisions and so far Ephraim had not led him astray, so trusting him on this as well was only natural.
