Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 640
Chapter 640: Cripple
Mildred didn’t even know when she said this out loud, but both Hunn and Riger turned to look at her with incredulous expressions! Was she mad?! If they tried something like that, then they were going to be killed when the demon lord made it to the island!
Hunn was the one who spoke up.
“We shouldn’t do anything that would make Mark Vanitas any more angry than he already is. Trying to blow the ship up would only make him hate us more, and he might start attacking the island once he comes here. Do you want our remaining forces to be killed as well?”
Hunn’s logic was sound, and Mildred knew that he was right, but that did nothing to reduce the anger inside of her, and she clicked her tongue and turned around to leave. She didn’t care about this anymore. The army could do whatever the fuck they wanted.
Once she was gone, Riger and Hunn continued to look toward the ship coming to the island.
Riger couldn’t believe that they were doing this. Staying on this island and waiting for the demon lord was an insult to the entire demon race and everyone that the demon lord had killed. The demon lord was the one that threatened them into staying here, so them waiting for him like this was like saying they were afraid of him.
Riger’s stump throbbed with pain once he thought about this, and he cursed loudly before turning to Hunn.
“This is all your fucking fault, Hunn.”
Hunn turned to look at Riger in surprise, and the werewolf bared his fangs at the shorter goblin before speaking up.
“If you hadn’t agreed to that stupid peace pact! If you hadn’t said that we should listen to the angels, then none of this would be happening! We should be raiding angel cities and killing those birds right now, but instead, we are waiting here like fucking slaves for the demon lord to strong-arm us into a peace treaty! Are you happy?”
Hunn glared back at Riger as a chilling anger overcame him. Did Riger think that Hunn wanted things to end like this? Did he really believe he was innocent in all this?!
“And who was it that started a coup behind my back?”
Riger clicked his tongue and spat to the side before speaking.
“Someone had to do what you didn’t have the balls to.”
“Well, congratulations! Your balls have made sure no one can fight back against the demon lord! Because of your actions, we’ve lost hundreds in a pointless battle! A battle that could have been avoided if you’d just listened to what the demon lord was trying to say! We were at a disadvantage against the angels, can’t you see? They had us in a fucking chokehold, and the only reason we got this far was because of the demon lord! He was the one that changed things! Him wanting us to have peace was him trying to preserve the little number that we had! If we had gone to full-blown war with the angels, then our forces would be decimated!
“If you had just stopped for a moment and thought with anything other than your balls, then maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation now! At least now that you can no longer fight, I hope you’re happy, you fucking cripple!”
Riger’s eyes flashed with rage as he reached out to grab Hunn by the shirt! He pulled him up so that their faces were very close and glared at him, but Hunn glared right back before sneering out an insult.
“How are you going to hit me now, cripple?”
Riger’s eyes widened and he grit his teeth before tossing Hunn away and turning to leave. Hunn watched Riger leave with a defeated air around him and Hunn sighed before turning back to see that the demon lord’s ship was already docking at the port. It was time to meet with their former ruler.
…
Mark and Arit descended from the ship, and Mark sent out a mental order to the sharks that had been moving the ship towards the island for them to spread out around the island and keep watch. Mark took Arit’s hand and just stood calmly while watching the ocean waves moving slowly.
The scenery was quiet and calming, with the blue sky and warm sun overhead, so the both of them didn’t bother moving anywhere as they waited for the demons to come to them.
It didn’t take ten minutes before a large group of about a hundred demons with Hunn leading them appeared from the other side of the island, where the fortress was located.
Mark could see the looks of hostility and anger on the faces of the demons as they approached. In fact, Mark could almost taste their hatred for him. But Mark didn’t care about that. He was already done with trying to make them see reason. They only understood violence, and if not for what he had done, Mark was sure that they would not be standing here now.
When Hunn got to him, he gave Mark a nod of acknowledgment, and Mark returned it before asking him if everything was prepared. Hunn said that it was.
Mark had asked them to prepare a room for the negotiations, as well as a list of all their demands and the compromises that they were willing to make. Mark had also told the angels to do the same thing, so he was going to compare and work with both their documents when the time came.
“Look over there, it’s an angel ship. I can’t believe we’re letting those birds back on the island after what they did to us.”
One of the demons that had come with Hunn suddenly spoke up as they saw something on the horizon, and everyone turned around to see a large fleet of angel ships heading toward the island.
“Look how they’re coming with so many ships like they own the place.”
“I’m sure they’ll try to take the island from us again.”

“If they try anything, then I’ll fight. I don’t care what happens.”
The demons were grumbling and mumbling angrily as they stared at the ships coming towards them. Mark put his hands in his pockets and sighed calmly as he waited for the ships to get close enough, and once it was, Mark commanded all of the sharks around to surround the entire island. The water began to swirl heavily as the sharks formed a perfect circle around the island, preventing any ship from leaving. Mark knew that the distance from the island to the mainland was not something any angel could fly without rest, so the only way they could leave the island was by those ships. And unless they wanted to be eaten by the sharks, they would think twice before dreaming of leaving.
Mark turned around and started to walk to the stronghold while talking to Hunn.
“If anyone attacks someone not from their race, then I’m going to kill ten people from the attackers’ side. Tell the angels the same thing, and I’ll see you all at the stronghold.”
Mark left both races alone, and Arit fell into step beside him with a smile on her face. Arit took his hand, and Mark gave her a small smile before allowing her to carry him up into the sky and towards the stronghold.
