Strongest Superhuman System - Chapter 651
Chapter 651: Waking Up
Mark felt a small smile spread across his lips as he saw their clingy sleeping positions, but once Luna pressed herself tighter against his body and raised her right leg over his own, Mark cursed internally as he felt something like electricity travel across his body. His little brother immediately started to react, and Mark had to sigh to calm himself before he shook his head. This wasn’t the time for that.
The sound of various notifications arriving in his system alerted Mark to the rewards he got from the mission he just completed, and Mark commanded the system to open so he could take a look at it.
…
[The user has completed the Trial of Freya and has earned a reward for his efforts. Does the user wish to view the rewards? Yes/No]
Mark chose yes, and the system opened up another interface that showed a weird symbol at the top of the tab with many words written below it. The symbol looked like a small dark ball with dark flames surrounding it on all sides. In a strange way, Mark thought it looked like an eye if he squinted, like it was some sort of native symbol that early humans would have drawn on their bodies. What the hell was that?
Mark looked down to read the text below the symbol.
…
[Due to the user’s actions in the world of Rosario, the goddess Freya has granted the user the Divine skill [Symbol of Gaia]]
[Symbol of Gaia: This skill grants the user a profound connection to all forms of plant and animal life, allowing them to perceive their emotions, thoughts, and intentions as if they were spoken words. Through this link, the user can influence, guide, and harmonize with the natural world, fostering mutual trust and collaboration between all living beings within reach. In order to properly use this skill, the user must possess a calm mind and body that would allow nature’s creatures to trust and assist the user in various situations.]
[A turbulent mind and body cannot be one with nature. Should nature not view the user as worthy, it will refuse the user’s connection with it.]
[In order for the user to increase his chances of connecting with nature, the system suggests that the user begins meditating and consciously increasing his control over his emotions and thoughts. This will reduce the turbulence within the user’s body and make communication with wildlife easier.]
…
‘So it’s a way to talk to plants and animals.’
Mark was surprised as he read through the system notification. He didn’t think that Freya would give him something like this. She knew that Mark was someone who used his fists a lot, and yet she decided to give him a gift that had almost nothing to do with increasing his physical abilities in a fight.
But even though it looked like it wasn’t that impressive, Mark was still grateful for the skill because of all the things he could use it for. The ability to understand and communicate with wildlife had so many uses even though they didn’t fit perfectly with his fighting style! Mark could use it to track anima in fights and he could even use it to find the best areas to take fights so that there would be fewer casualties, or even to increase his chances of winning a fight by going into a more favorable environment.
Mark was also glad that he didn’t have to use any mana to activate this skill. Most of the Divine skills that Mark had gotten so far, like the [Crown of the Golden Horizon], required a ton of mana to use it properly, and even though Mark had more than enough mana to activate them, it was still a little annoying that he had to use that much mana to activate the skill for only a second.
But this skill was just like the [Styxwatcher’s Discernment] or [Aegis of Ares] that didn’t need any mana to be activated. It was already at its maximum potential state, and the only thing you had to worry about was how to use it properly.
But that brought up another issue altogether for this skill. Mark read through the conditions for activating the skill properly and he frowned as he saw what the system warned him about.
‘A turbulent mind cannot communicate with nature. That means I have to start meditating again.’
Mark was no stranger to meditation. He was already very used to it during his time training with Raven. Back then, Mark was meditating a lot to try and reactivate his system. Mark thought that this system was locked in his mind and he would need to connect with himself or something before he would be able to reactivate it. But he stopped after a long time when he didn’t see any sort of change or improvement to his system.
Mark had already let go of many of the habits he had during those times of meditation, so if Mark wanted to get them back, then he needed to go back and train under Raven again. Maybe for about a week until he was able to get all those habits back under his control. After that week, he would be able to turn it into a habit and do it easily on his own.
Mark released a small sigh as he finally relaxed in bed. Luna shifted a little from beside him and Mark had to fight that arousal inside of him again as she pressed herself even tighter against his arm. She was a real hugger when sleeping, and Mark knew that if she kept doing this every night, it wouldn’t be long before he got her pregnant too.
‘Fuck, I almost forgot about that. I have to call Jeanne to find out if Arit is actually pregnant. Hopefully, it’s just a false alarm and we won’t have to start preparing for a baby before we’re ready. I don’t think I want to bring a child into this world right now. Not with the dangers that are about to present themselves..’
Mark turned to look at Arit and saw that she was sleeping peacefully. Mark thought that she would have woken up after what they went through in the other world. In fact, Mark wondered if Arit would remember anything about what happened over in the other world. Mark recalled how Luna was supposed to forget everything about what happened when they were on the trial by Ares and it was only because she used a wish that she managed to keep her memories, so would the same thing happen here, or was that just something that happened because Ares wanted it to?
Mark was thinking about this for a few seconds before he suddenly heard Arit moan from his side as she slowly opened her eyes.
Arit cleaned her eyes with her left hand and looked around the room curiously for a few seconds, and then her brows furrowed as she immediately touched her forehead. Mark realized that Arit was looking for her horns and at that moment, he knew that she remembered what had happened. Mark felt a strange sense of relief fill him as he sighed internally. Mark really didn’t want to have to reveal Arit’s pregnancy to her again.
“I’m not in my QUEEN form anymore.”
Arit mumbled quietly after she realized that she didn’t have her horns again. Her eyes trailed up towards Mark and Mark gave her a smile. Mark expected her to give him a smile as well, but he was surprised when Arit didn’t smile at him. Instead, her brows furrowed in confusion as she slowly sat up in bed and reached her hand out to touch Mark on the face.
